It's Ok

The storyline is solid but somewhat predictable and convoluted. The dialogue is a bit tacky and forced. The characters could have been more developed, and the film gets over-dramatic at times. But the visual and special effects are surprisingly decent, the invisible cloak and the ironman-like suit are amazing, the futuristic sets/props are fantastic as well. The acting is good, the score is all right but overbearing at times, the cinematography is a standout. Not bad for an Indonesian action-adventure flick.

Okay first try

Movie is very flashy, although the CGI is not consistent (very well done in some scenes, looked like a B movie in a lot of scenes). Minimal character background and development, making it hard to get invested with the plot. The movie just rolls along, with barely any backstory for a lot of things thus not showing the reasoning and what really motivates the actions of a few characters. Plot points and characters were introduced as the movie progressed, but they were left out completely towards the end, and we can only guess what happened. The english was average at best, some actors spoke very clearly while others were mumbling (especially the main character, dunno if this was done on purpose or not). A lot cheesy lines and subpar delivery, making me laugh when it wasn't supposed to be funny. Action scenes were nice and well executed. The Raid 2 is still a much better movie in my opinion, with better plot and character development and very well executed action scenes with practical effects. Overall this movie is an okay attempt to be like a hollywood action movie, but still has a lot of room to improve, especially the writing. This movie is probably doing well in Indonesia (people were clapping at the end of the movie, I have no idea why, other than maybe feeling patriotic), but I don't think this would fare well internationally. Just my two cents.

Missed opportunity

I was hoping this movie will open up its doors to new era for Indonesian action movies.

Boy I was so wrong.

The incoherent storytelling continuously distract viewers from immersing into the narrative. There were so many scenes which I didnt understand the reason its happening or some scenes are just way too incoherent that made me laugh due to script's absurdity.

At the same time the horrendous dialogues and one liners, seems it was written by a 7th grade action movie fanatic who just copied and pasted all those cliched dialogues from 80s action movies.

At one point one character expresses his emption in three random words 'How?' 'Why?' and 'Nevermind!'. That terrible line made the actor to perform worst acting in his career.

At least I was expecting some decent action set pieces. But then again what I got was uninspired action set pieces one after another. Just few scenes with anime wanna be actions with terrible stunt choreographies.

And then there is this SOUND MIXING...

The sound in this movie is just unbearable for your ears. From awkward dialogues I mentioned earlier to terrible voice over. The worst part of sound mixing is during action scenes where sound engineers just amped up the volume so high as if the pistol is firing a canon. The sound effects just scream in your ear over and over again til your eardrum gets numb.

If this movie was released on Youtube instead, as "Fan Made Call of Duty Movie! " it might've caught high school fanboys' attention.

Sorry Indonesia, this is not the future of your cinema

Not a bad movie, good action scenes

It's weird to watch an Indonesian flick with all speaking English. But it's a good attempt n good hard work by the actors to make it happen. Kudos. Overall its a good action flict. Story line is a so so n it seems there's a sequal to it. Catch the first end credits for it.

First sci fi action movie of Indonesia

So after following the progress of the movie from the first genre back ten years ago, the expectation for this movie has been very high. And the hype being generated upon the release added to the high expectation.

Upon watching the movie i liked it for the most part, the CG is amazing (although it feel that in some places the CG was purposely made sub par), the characters were good, and the story was great.

Gun action scene were great, a few questions popped up here and there, but overall great.

Action fight scene were also great, a few camera angle misses that showed things that should have been edited better, but overall the fight scenes were fast paced, brutal and horrific...all the elements that people want to see in a good fight

This is definitely a step forward for Indonesian film making, hope to see more equal or even better quality movie than this one

Too Many Plot Hole, A Waste of Time. An all brawn and no brain movie.

I was convinced on bringing my family to watched this movie after watching the trailer and the whole "Indonesia made, hollywood taste". I have so many expectation that are reduce to ashes by the end of the movie... They oversold the movie in the trailer, and showed only the good part of this movie.

As much as I love Indonesia and want to support it's movies and arts industry like many other movie before this. For the sake of future improvement i really do think that i need to speak with brutal honesty that this film in my opinion is a complete flop. I was so dissappointed, this film is a 1 out of 10.

I do get that the film have a futuristic set in 203X and also have many action but for some reason manage to be so unconvincing by not paying attention to so many details, like the car, the outfit and so on.

The actor are meeeh -__- ok, although the english accents are still unconvincing. Even the Indonesian sub of it is so bad that i don't think they proofread it.

But the most ugliest of them all are the major plot hole, I dont think they research enough and they jump around the scene without having the audience to connect with the character. Making it seems like i skip a scene or something all the time.

In conclusion this movie it's only 6 dudes having a stabbing and violence festival without any meaning and context ~ all brawn and no brain. The character seem so dumb and all they do are just wail, groan in pain, crack bones, and stab people. They don't give even one convincing reason and a structured back story to make it even the sligthest bit believable. The only cool stuff are just the gadget and weapon and that's it.

Even if you are a fan of action and gore movie who only love seeing the action well i guess it's ok, but just don't expect any context, moral line, or anything else from this movie at all. There is so many other Indonesian movie who are low budget less sophisticated that brings more meaning and context.

lack of chemistry between the stars

The visual effect is great but lack of chemistry between the stars - a few made me flat out a bit uncomfortable. Is that because the english dialogue or plots ? Duno. Anyway, I think this movie is quite entertaining thou and worth watching.

Presenting 'Cinematic Universe' in Indonesia

To be honest, 114 mins is too short, for me, Indian Movie audience, which they tend to have movie for 140++mins more or less. Haven't seen the trailer, haven't seen the synopsis. I found 'F6' in Twitterland, which from unknown account replying Oka's reply 'Foxtrot Six'.

Randy Korompis. Sulawesi, I guess. He is fan of Metal Gear Solid fan. --Okay, irrelevant. It was a nuisance to have Indonesian movie with full English dialogue. Maybe they have their reason, but it is showing we are capable to speak English, making Hollywood-like movies, and one more thing to be achieved, a successful movie.

Sorry if I am blabber about Indonesian Movies Industry. It was random and unpredictable.

What is good from this movie? CGI and VFX. It was a fun ride to watch made in Indonesia and has good CGI, although not better or as good as Hollywood, but we're making progress here. Characters. Oka Antara successfully portrayed Angga in his best. No background except his devoted love for Sari (Julie Estelle). Tino is the most bright and has sexy accent among all. Mysterious character like 'Spec' (Chicco Jerikho) supposed to be a key player, but with all mystery made it 'perfect'.

What need more elaboration or explanation? Story. Having 80 script over 3 years in the making was not easy role for Korompis, but to make it better, he needs to make a better detailed story or working together with screenplay or scriptwriter. It feels like 'Frankenstein'--if you get what I meant. Foxtrot. There is no explanation about the symbol--either a miss or a clue like Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marketing. Having MD as distributor and marketer surely escalating the chance and game, but it needs improvements, but kudos to F6, the sequel/prequel/spin-off will be easier to reach audiences.

What I like in this movie? Just Angga's grand introduction in dystopian setting. Having advanced technology like Stark in each movies. A melodramatic over 'found the lost one' and surprising fact. Awesome hunks. Well, who can resist if there is Arifin Putra, Oka Antara, Mike Lewis, Rio Dewanto and Chicco Jerikho in one screen and together pursuit one goal.

I can give 2 points for CGI and VFX. One for every main character, Oka have a plus. And one for Korompis. This is not a neutral judgement, I just feel proud that my country is capable of making such movie.

Can't wait for another.

A decent movie viewing experience.

This movie has so many Hollywood influences in it, that it kinda clash with the Indonesian influence. The CGI was pretty good, but at times it could be pretty bad to the point it's distracting. The story is a good concept but Randy kinda fails to deliver it perfectly (But for a first time Directing and Writing a blockbuster movie it's pretty good.) The acting was amazing, the English dialog is holding the actors back since the way they talk sometimes was kind of weird. The only character development i could see in this movie is the main protagonist (Angga/Oka Antara.) For a $5 Million budget movie Mario really took a gamble on this one, and it was pretty worth it. Here to a future of huge budget/action Indonesia movies. (or any genres)

Painfully lame

Overuse of Hollywood lingo. I was cringing throughout. This is perhaps the biggest let-down besides the bad acting and amateurish CG.

No Good

I don't even understand why ppl can rate this high score. For me, the storyline is good, the acting is good except the cutting is too flashy and some scene just doesn't make sense and look like a mess

Lovable cheesy.

Its an okay movie with an epic soundtrack from Hiro ishizaki. The action scenes were good. Lots of cheesy typical dialogue. The plot was predictable cointaing lots of plot holes. The character backgrounds was underdeveloped. The movie would have being better if the character dynamic between the good guys was well established. I felt like I needed to watch a prequel movie before watching this one😅. All in all an indonesian director has impressed me..

Thanks for trying!

Really bad movies, lots of plothole, bad CGI, awkward accent, boring conversation, poorly made setup, and bla bla bla, bla bla bla. But! This is the first Indonesian movie that use intensive CGI and trying to reach the level of hollywood action movies, let's appreciate it! And also the fact that it has quite unique story really surprise me! Still a long way to go, lots of room to improve, but thanks for trying!

Good story but not with the style

They shouldn't bring western lifestyle to Indonesian people because it's so cringe. I love the story, ideas, and CGI. Overall is good.

Terrible acting

We saw the trailer and were looking forward to see this movie, but after the first scene I already had a hard time not to walk out.

We managed to stay for 15 minutes, hoping the story would capture our attention as I enjoy these type of sci-fi movies, but the acting is just so over the top and everything is so cheesy that we didn't last longer than 15 min.

Good modern action feature.

Made very much in the splashy Hollywood style, even going so far as being in English, this Indonesian actioner tells a familiar tale of a man leading a revolt, pitted against a ruthless dictatorial government, and the insurmountable odds therein. Set in the near future, but not being too far from the headlines on the current evening news. A big deal is made in the promotional materials of Mario Kassar on board, who produced T2, Rambo and Total Recall, among others, and this does have the same macho appeal, and a rather bleak outlook on humanity. All of the cast appear comfortable speaking English, and it's possible you might even forget this is not an American feature. If it tends to follow formula, it's a good one, and it hits the right notes on cue. If you enjoy action, and especially Kasser's earlier productions, this comes recommended.

A milestone of cinema!

Only for nationalistic jingoists, bad movie connoisseurs, or movie goers whose only hitherto knowledge of the medium comes from old video games. Although I should add that the plot of this movie made less sense than any story-driven game I've played.

Truly the worst movie I've ever watched inside a cinema, and in forty years on earth, I've made it my mission to watch as many as I can.

Indonesian action

There is a global food shortage. Indonesian president Indra vows to solve the problem. A secret cabal intends to launch a coup. Angga learns the true ruthlessness of the plan while discovering his ex has founded an underground group.

This is a mess. I don't know anything about writer/director Randy Korompis but he seems to be a newbie. It shows. I was hoping for Raid. Maybe it could be Netflix level action. The story telling is jagged. Suddenly, an invisible cloak turns this into a superhero movie for a minute. It tries to be a thriller but the writing is a muddle. I am willing to give this points for looking pretty good. The camera work actually looks competent. Obviously, this is trying to get into the English market. Korompis jams a lot of different Hollywood movies together. I would suggest that he gets some help to write his next movie.

Enjoyable

Good all round action and not a bad story.

Not sure who wrote the Goofs but English is spoken all over Indonesia on a regular basis as one of numerous languages
