This movie is full of your typically dumb female characters. Characters that would rather die then defend themselves. Not an ounce of self preservation in them. The movies not bad, just get tire of these weak girls, who only find courage in the last 10 minutes of the film.

Omg! So human hunters give you 15 minutes to get a head start before they kill you and you decide to run for minute or two and then just stop and have a conversation about why this is happening? Yeah that's not very smart. I couldn't even finish watching it but the three American idiots deserve to die in my book.

There must be someone somewhere who gave their millennial kid some money to make a low budget, horribly written, horribly acted spin off on the most dangerous game.
In a world where electric fences spark when wooden sticks are touched to them are the absolute least of the unbelievability. I found myself asking... Is this what the tide pod eating, condom snorting generation has come up with as actual cinema? Was this a class project?
If you want to laugh at bad acting, plots, and a complete lack of knowledge on a topic, give it a try

This is one of the worst scripted movies that I have seen. The producers should call it " films by challenged people" . Do not waist your time watching it!
Baboons hunting a squirrel with a slingshot would have been more entertaining!!!!
Unbelievable the noise those people made while trying to escape from the killers. Could have been better.

American Hunt is not a good film, but my friend and I did enjoy watching it, so that's something. The plot is one of the most simplistic ones I've ever seen in a film, and there's very few interesting plot points.
The action scenes are not amazing, but I did appreciate a few of the practical effects, the CGI effects were bad however.
The film reminded me of "The Hunt", which was released a little later than this one, but was a lot better. Cinematography was basic, music was either nonexistant or so unmemorable I have no recollection of it being there, and the trio of heroic characters were forgettable. Although, the villainous brothers were a bit interesting.
Apart from the decent practical effects, the only other positives is that the props are ok, and the actor playing Levi was not bad.
3/10: A poor film, with a minority of decent features. Wouldn't say any of it was good, though.

While this movie is clearly very, very low budget, I didn't necessarily find that to be an issue in terms of storytelling. I do blame the marketing team for dubbing it "the most controversial horror release of 2019," because it's definitely not that. It's more of what you see is what you get. It's a quick, easy watch with good twists and turns. Suspense level is great, and actors do a great job with what they're given.

"American Hunt" is really low budget, which isn't a bad thing. What is bad is the total lack of substantive material available. The film kicks off with killers hunting people. There is no thrill to the moment, no atmosphere and little fanfare besides a stereotypical caricature psycho impression. It really let me know what to expect, and what not to expect.
There is a lot that is wrong with "American Hunt". Mostly the fact that the story is only developed in the most surface way. There is no depth or real character development. That being said, I was impressed by several of the cast's performances. The real problem was with the mediocre dialog and the fact that the scenes weren't given enough breadth to fully form.
The horror could have saved it all in this film, and it almost did. Right up till the choices made to pull off the kill sequences. Poor CGI options, ridiculous interpretations of death moments, and an overall lack of restraint from a directorial position makes it impossible to enjoy the horror aspects in "American Hunt".
Overall "American Hunt" is a disappointment. I almost liked it, at times even finding it entertaining. Unfortunately most scenes are hindered by bad editing, poor effects or just a lack of character building. And as I say all this, I have to admit that I found the ending, you know - that final girl moment, satisfying. Right until the silly tease that the story isn't over just yet.

Kept us on the edge of our seat for the entire movie. I am looking forward to the next film from this group. The trailer drew me in and the movie did not disappoint. Fun, low-budget movie that I will watch again.

I went in with very low expectations, and the opening scene sets the tone to know what to expect, and yet, there are still good twists and turns. Dang good fun! A fast watch. (stay for post-credits!) The music is great, but the special effects are not. Characters are used really well, and the lead cast is committed and far better than what you usually see in low-budget horror. I was pleasantly surprised with Taylor Novak and Lacy Hartselle's performances.
I can't say this movie doesn't have some of the predictable moments you might expect from this genre; but they also have a couple little surprises which were unexpected. It's definitely worth the watch!
I watched this gentle and acceptable crap only because I had nothing else to do. You should feel pity for me. I nearly ashamed to kill time this way. But I must admit that I took some pleasure seeing this garbage. I don't know exactly why, because it is really lame, lousy. But the countryside settings have always pleased me for this kind of horror film. And I have seen hundreds of them already. And from time to time, it's very resting for the brain to use this kind of material. From time to time, I insist. I also repeat, there were batches and batches of those films and it is not finished yet.
