But by the time it bid adieu in 2020, it had carved a place in pop culture with the precision of a jeweler setting a rare gem. Created by the father-son powerhouse Eugene and Dan Levy, Schitt’s Creek turned Emmy-slayer, flipped the script on what small-town stories could be.
Eugene Levy once told The New York Times, “Isn’t that the perfect way to go?” when they chose to end the show after six stellar seasons. But let’s not cry over spilled milk—every cast member has been busy sprinkling their magic elsewhere. Let’s peel...

Netflix's The Last Kids on Earth is based on a series of novels written and illustrated by Max Brallier and Douglas Holgate, respectively. They were so popular upon release that the streaming giant decided to give it an animated adaptation, which has similarly performed decently well among viewers.

Exclusive: Political satirist/comedian Bassem Youssef is teaming with Powerhouse Animation Studios to adapt his forthcoming book The Magical Reality of Nadia, inspired by Youssef’s own life experience, as a television series.
The Magical Reality of Nadia is described as a humorous and heartfelt story about prejudice, friendship, empathy, and courage. Written by Youssef and Catherine R. The sky was the limit when it came to voice casting “The Last Kids on Earth.”
Based on Max Brallier’s graphic novel, the animated Netflix series follows Jack (Nick Wolfhard) and his teenage friends, who spent much of the first season playing video games and zombie-fighting in a post-apocalyptic world that wiped out most of humanity.
Although the first season (and the source material) was primarily focused on Jack’s point of view, Season 2 was a time to open up the world, per the executive producers.
The approach was, “If we could have anyone in the world, who would we have?” Brallier says. They wanted “Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill but thought, “Why would he ever want to do this?”
In order to entice Hamill to voice Bardle, a wise monster who is the leader of the monsters who have taken over the pizza parlor, Joe’s Pizza, they created...

April 2020 might be the biggest month for Netflix ever. Millions of people are stuck at home due to the Coronavirus pandemic with nothing much to do except kill time. And that’s where streaming video comes in, with Netflix happy to take your mind off the horror on the streets. As such, there’s some neat horror (or horror-tinged) stuff hitting the service in just a few weeks.
Cream of the crop is trashy cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Evil Dead franchise star Bruce Campbell is looking to step back behind the camera for his next project as a director, and he's even written a screenplay he's hoping to have shot in 2020. Speaking in an extensive interview with 1428 Elm, Campbell opened up on his career and life after Ash vs Evil Dead, giving his fans an idea of what to expect next from him next. While still far from finished as an actor, Campbell revealed he's written a screenplay for a "political satire," and the plan is to begin shooting it sometime next year.
"I just finished my second draft so I'm getting that out to the old cronies for feedback. Then I'm going to get it out for budgeting and then I'm going to go shopping. I want to see if there are any 26-year-old executives that will greenlight this."
Campbell also says there's no question he will...

One year ago, Bruce Campbell announced that he was officially retiring from the role of The Evil Dead‘s Ash Williams. In the wake of the cancellation of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, and after thirty-seven years of being bitten, bashed and blown-up by Deadites, he was finally hanging up his chainsaw. At the time, he mentioned that the role of Ash has always been synonymous with physical (and often painful) comedy and as he ages, Campbell simply didn’t feel he could do the part justice like he used to.
But that retirement has seemed kinda busy for a while. It’s been confirmed that Ash is appearing as a downloadable character in Dead by Daylight and there are convincing rumors that he’s set to make an appearance in Mortal Kombat 11, too, both of which would be voiced by Campbell.
But now, it seems that there may be something more substantial on the horizon,...

After crashing the prom with zombies in his screenplay for Gregg Bishop's must-see horror comedy Dance of the Dead (which Daily Dead and friends celebrated in style last year for its 10th anniversary), Joe Ballarini brought the boogeyman (and a whole host of creepy creatures) to life in A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting book series, and the first novel is now being developed as a film at Netflix.
Deadline reports that Rachel Talalay will direct A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting from a screenplay by Ballarini. Like the book, the family friendly film will focus on teenager Kelly Ferguson, who teams up with a secret and highly skilled group of babysitters who moonlight as monster slayers after the child she's watching is abducted by sinister forces.
Tom Pollock, Ilona Herzberg, and Walden Media's Naia Cucukov will executive produce the film, with Walden Media, Montecito Pictures Company, Ivan Reitman,...

Author Joe Ballarini's children's book series A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting will be adapted as a family movie for Netflix, with director Rachel Talalay at the helm. Talalay is known for directing movies like Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and Tank Girl, and has helmed episodes of TV shows like American Gods, Riverdale, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. She'll be using a screenplay written by Ballarini, which will be based on the first installment of the three-book series from Katherine Tegen Books. Ivan Reitman and Amie Karp are producing, with Naia Cucukov, Tom Pollock, and Ilona Herzberg executive producing.
The movie will follow middle school babysitter Kelly Ferguson, who's bummed to find out she'll be watching children instead of partying with her friends. Things only get worse when the baby she's caring for is kidnapped by monsters. Fortunately, Kelly is recruited by a secret society of monster-hunting babysitters...

Though Mark Hamill has a history of trolling his followers with fake Star Wars: Episode IX reveals, it now looks like he’s finally using his Twitter account to deliver some genuine info about one of his upcoming projects.
Last night, the Luke Skywalker actor shared a message teasing some big news on the way, and the best part is that we only have a few hours to wait before we find out what he’s talking about:
“Major Announcement Tomorrow 6:15pm Pst I’ll be sharing some Very Exciting news about a super-secret project I’ve been working on that’s just…. how can I describe it? Oh, I know! It’s: ‘Uh……… Wow. Just…….Wow.’ #WatchThisSpace”
Naturally, the tweet has been met with plenty of replies from fans hoping for Star Wars news, in which case, Hamill’s labeling of Episode IX as a “super-secret project” would presumably be sarcastic.
