Celebrating the advent of the wedding season in India, a scintillating pair has hit the music scene with a feisty song titled, Shola. Sung, composed and written by Akasa and Charan, Shola is a vibrant song about a feisty girl and wedding vibes!
To create the perfect video, the song features Akasa and actor Rohit Saraf.
Akasa says, “I am so glad that Shola kicks off the wedding season. The buzz that the song has attracted way before its release was quite incredible and I’m grateful for all the love that has come by so far. The process of creating this song right from writing, to composing to rendering it with Charan was truly special. When Rohit stepped on board to feature in the video, the excitement for the release of the song just spiked up for me. I hope the listeners enjoy the song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Set in the agrarian area of Northern India known as the “cow belt,” during the 1990s, “Gobar!” (literally cow dung or bullshit) is a satire inspired by real events that transpire when an idiosyncratic animal-loving veterinary doctor chances upon a tangled web of corruption in his local state hospital, and decides to stand up against it.

Photo: ‘The White Tiger’/Netflix Balram Halwai (Adarsh Gourav) is born into a lowly caste of sweet-makers, destined to fruitlessly serve richer masters until he’s outlasted his usefulness--nevertheless, he does so with unwavering loyalty until he’s so heartlessly betrayed that he sets out to forge his own path by any means necessary. Based on Aravind Adiga’s 2008 novel of the same name, Netflix’s ‘The White Tiger’ initially elicits comparison with Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Parasite’--set in modern India, it recounts the story of a poor villager who finds work as a driver for a rich family, commenting on the harshly divisive class system in the process. Both discuss the way in which the rich exploit the poor, who in turn finagle what wealth they can from the rich. Photo: 'We Can Be Heroes'/Netflix As far as filmmakers working today, Robert Rodriguez is one of the more interesting ones in how you can delineate his filmography into two different paths. On one end you have his edgier fare: his collaborations with longtime friend Quentin Tarantino, the ‘Mexico’ trilogy and the ‘Machete’ and ‘Sin City’ films. On the opposite end of the spectrum are his kid-friendly films: the ‘Spy Kids’ film series and ‘The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl’. One can make the argument that for a lot of us—specifically those who came of age in the 2000s—his family films were our first introduction to his oeuvre. And in the case of ‘Sharkboy and Lavagirl’, despite poor critical and commercial response, the film gained a cult following among younger viewers. Failure, competition and the pressure of staying relevant perennially looms on actors in Bollywood. Some can cope with it and some cannot. Those who cannot, often quit and opt for a different path in another fields.
The author has jotted out a few names, who courted the limelight for a while but could not continue their journey in the world of glitz and sparkle called Bollywood.
Imran Khan
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan has quit Bollywood as an actor. He broke the news earlier this month. Imran made his debut in Hindi film industry in 2008 with the hit film "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na". However, most of what followed was forgettable fare as "Luck", "Kidnap", "I Hate Luv Story" and "Break Ke Baad". There was "Delhi Belly" in 2011, but that was an odd success, clearly not enough. Imran's last big screen outing was in 2015 with Kangana Ranaut...

Exclusive: Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Quantico) and Richard Madden (Bodyguard) are set to headline Citadel, Anthony and Joe Russo’s upcoming global thriller multi-series for Amazon Studios. The company is expected to announce the high-profile castings during its TCA executive session. Amazon also is announcing today that a local language production of the franchise will originate from Mexico, in addition to the previously announced versions in Italy and India. Madden and Chopra, who both have global profiles, will star in the U.S. “mothership” edition of the series.
Former ABC Studios president Patrick Moran has been working on Citadel since closing an overall deal at Amazon in October. As head of ABC Studios, he cast Indian movie star Chopra in her first major American television role as the lead of the studio’s ABC drama Quantico.
The epic Citadel franchise, a co-production with Midnight Radio, is described as action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional center.

Padma Lakshmi had the cleverest response after The New Yorker’s Instagram account confused the Indian author and “Top Chef” host with Indian actress Priyanka Chopra by accidentally tagging Chopra in a photo of Lakshmi.
“Thank you to the illustrious ‘@nydailynews’ for the shoutout,” Lakshmi wrote in a caption to go with a screen shot of the mistake, deliberately tagging the wrong publication. “I know to some we all look alike, but… #desilife #justindianthings.”
The New Yorker has since deleted the Instagram post. Reps for Chopra and the magazine did not respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Another eventful year for Indian film is almost over now, and it’s a good time to reflect on how far Indian Cinema has come, and in what ways it needs to push the envelope further.
The onset of the digital age has opened up new floodgates for content to reach audiences, who now, thanks to streaming platforms, have access to many smaller independently made films which get lost among the big brother releases on the big screen, many of these smaller films boasting of stellar filmmaking and compelling storylines.
There are certain films I really liked initially, especially Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, which is the Indian entry to the Oscars, but I have lost much of my enthusiasm towards it by the end of the year. But that happens as our response to films change over time.
The year’s technically not over yet, big releases like Dabangg 3...

On the heels of Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ and Nick Jonas’ first wedding anniversary, Amazon Studios has given a green light to a new unscripted series executive produced by the famous couple, inspired by the Indian pre-wedding tradition of the sangeet, for Prime Video.
The sangeet takes place the night before the ceremony, bringing together the families of the betrothed for a performance-filled evening of song and dance. Chopra Jonas and Jonas’ sangeet played an important role in the lead up to their own cross-cultural nuptials in December 2018.
Casting for the as-yet untitled series is currently underway and filming will take place in 2020 with participants driving the creative vision for their respective ceremonies. Chopra Jonas & Nick Jonas also will appear in the series, from Amazon Studios, Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz’s Alfred Street Industries, Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures, and Jonas’ Image 32.
Per the official synopsis, “the series is a celebration of the love,...
