Meaningless plot

I didn't watch the Original German film. But this movie seems meaningless plot. Only time pass. Netflix hindi making totally scrap nowadays. I think Indian Bengali films got better plot. Netflix should try Bengali film.

Uniquely shot but barely engaging!

Many in India haven't watched run Lola run (nor had even heard of it till this film was announced) and basically are reading the Wikipedia page and pasting the story here to make you believe they watched the film and are insulting this film. It's wrong, beware of such reviewers.

Let's first appreciate the way this film is shot. The weird camera angles and edits give it a fresh feel, different from mainstream cinema. Full marks there for trying something unique even in a remake.

What works well is the humor that the characters bring in especially the duo of Appu-Gappu and their scenes at the jewelry shop brings in the maximum laughs . Savi's little interactions with the paralyzed old man too made me chuckle.

However, the most important thing in this film itself is average, the thrill! The overall film has so many pit stops especially that Shreya Dhanwanthary angle is so boring it kills the thrill completely. The overall film failed to really hold on to my attention at a continuous stretch. If you have seen Maanaadu, you will realize how well they kept us engaged as the events occurring there in each loop were interesting but in this case of Loop Lapeta, the events in the 3 loops are barely interesting to hold on to your attention. Only the robbery one does attract attention.

Illogical moments are filled in this film. How is a girl with knee injury running like a normal sprinter? Even after a terrible car crash, all of its 3 passengers including Savi escape with minor injuries, Savi just gets a minor cut on her head that's it and she's back to sprinting ? Where is the logic???

Performances. The dudes who play Appu-gappu were the best. Tahir ranks 2nd while Tapsee is average.

There is even a small Easter egg towards the last 20 mins (a reference to the original film). If you failed to catch that, don't come here saying "I have watched run Lola run" cuz I am pretty sure many haven't they just see the Wikipedia page story and paste it here in the reviews to insult this film.

Overall, a film good for one time watch. Watch it for the brilliant cinematography and editing .

Run viewers run!!!

Looop Lapeta review :

The Hindi phrase - 'Nakkal mein bhi akkal chahiye' - well applies to this tripe of a film which is an official remake of the German hit Run Lola Run (1998). The original was about a young lady named Lola who must get a bagload of money in fifty minutes flat to save her boyfriend or else he will rob a store resulting in a fatal consequence. We see the same situation unfold thrice but with different consequences each time depending on Lola's reaction in each scenario.

The Hindi adaptation titled Looop Lapeta (with an extra o) is very much the same thing. Only it is presented in a highly confusing and boring manner. Unlike the German original, the pace here is shockingly slow and the constant flashbacks and flashforwards may have appeared 'cool' to the makers but it makes Loop Lapeta a totally disjointed fare which the audience just cannot connect to. As for that needless Satyavan- Savitri analogy, it appears just as casual and dumb as the male lead narrates it. It is indeed a mockery of our mythology, no less!!

Taapsee Pannu, as the desi Lola, is churning out the same two expressions in film after film. Offlate, the actor is becoming monotonously bland and needs to get her act together fast and quick. Unfortunately, choices like Loop Lapeta will only make it difficult for her!!

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

Technically FULL MARKS...Screenplay wise AVERAGE.

First thing I want to say is that this film is visually amazing. I don't remember if I've seen such type of camera work & editing in any Indian film before. Now, the film tried to be a dark comedy, but unfortunately most of the moments didn't work specially the scenes of two brothers. Some scenes were very unnecessary. But, loved the mythological angle.

Both Taapsee & Thahir were okay but in supporting cast only the character of Divyendu was memorable. I enjoyed watching the film specially in the 1st half. The positive thing of a time loop film is that you can't stop the film in middle. Finally, it's good to see this type of making in a Hindi film. Bollywood should explore these genres more, maybe one day they'll take the best out of it. So, watch it.

Available on Netflix.

TERRIBLE FILM

COMPLETE WASTE OF TALENT!

Tapsee and Raj who are such good artistes were wasted in this senseless movie. Nothing was good about this film,be it the acting, direction or screenplay! Movies like these are so awful that it's an absolute blessing for these filmmakers that OTT is present to save from theatre releases where they will struggle to survive 1 week.

Movies which is needed more in Bollywood.

Though I haven't watched 'Run Lola Run', I can say Loop Lapeta is a good movie. The concept of time loop is very well presented. Till now I've watched 'Source Code', 'Maanadu' & now Loop Lapeta and each of them gave a very beautiful presentation of Time Loop. A very good watch for everyone.

Tahir, Tapsee and all others were extremely good.

Sorry run Lola run

Sameer lodaya

The movie is inspired by a cult movie Run Lola run where time runs ahead and in loop

The concept picked was new and unique but the execution was pathetic and did not create the magic of run Lola run..Indian viewers are ready to accept new theories but should be made accordingly..here it was irritating as the character designs were really stupid and mindless..the humour created was very kiddish which did not helped the movie..both taapsee and Tahir looked ugly and acted stupid

It would be interesting if they would had made in simpler way and could had executed the time loop in Indian touch rather than giving the retro effect

Good it was released on ott.

I'd rather watch 'Run Lola Run' twice

I'm simply fed up of Bollywood's petty remakes. Where is the originality? Looop Lapeta is another lame remake of a very entertaining German thriller 'Run Lola Run'. Even the dialogues are the same; they've translated the German dialogues in Hindi without even thinking for a second that they don't seem to fit the Indian context.

Tahir deserves better movies/shows.

Don't know why so much hate.

I really enjoyed the film, it successfully creates wacky, fun, thrilling ride and keeps you super glued to your screen. I know it's a remake of Run Lola Run, but still one needs to adapt the film in your environment and time frame, the director perfectly done his job in this regard. Tahir and Tapsee are on point in the film. Here and there you find some easter eggs and homages, these are note worthy.

The monolog of Shneha Dhanwantry and the two brothers Appu and Gappu are the other highlights of the film. I need to congratulate it's technical team for the efforts they make for this film, it is very praiseworthy. Keep looking for your next venture Mr. Akash Bhatia, your Edger Wright style of filmmaking is phenomenal.

I always admire the choices of Tapsee, despite her hits and misses.

Very well made movie, great camerawork

Yes it is a remake of Run Lola run, but it's an official remake and the movie announces it in the beginning only. That doesn't stop the production to remain a remake. Infact it has been adapted so well for the Indian audiences that it ends up getting a layer of extra dimension which is actually very funny despite remaining a dark comic thriller. Making a remake is always a risk for the producers as it ends up getting compared with the original. Hats off to the director, cinematographer and the cast, it's a great job done!! We had so much fun watching it. Totally recommended!!

Bland movie

Movie was total tatti and absolute nonsense. The acting from Tapsee and Tahir was okay. Story was ok. Total waste of time., not even a one time watch. Too slow and very stretchy at times.

Total crap

Bollywood still remakes 90s movie and still does a very bad job in it. Too many flashbacks ruins the whole movie. Tapsee keeps running for most of the time. Policemen are shown as dumb. Movie is boring and comedy is not funny. Another bad hindi movie from netflix.

Fun,will watch original now

The movie about what does an athlete do after she says "she is done running!". Well she runs and runs for her life, her boyfriends life and to correct all the wrongs of her past.

The movie is a directorial debut, adapted from "run Lola run". Frankly I haven't watched the original version but the adapted version provides fresher take of comedic experience in Bollywood. The editing is nice, no stretched plots, just the pure story. Tapsi fits right into the groove of the character .the way they chose the character's name savi and satya and later linked with "savitri satyavan "story is refreshing touch. Check that scene just before intermission.

And yes is Taheer raj basin the new "radhika aapte ! " of Netflix A good fun movie and yes "nehru ji ko laal gulab pasand they"

I regret the moment I pressed "play"

When a movie is obviously bad, I complete it to learn what makes a movie bad. I could not even do that for this one. 2/3 of the way, I gave up. I don't care how it ended.

With each successive movie Tapasee confirms how limited she is in her range and that she peaked with Pink. She cannot carry a movie without a formidable male co-star.

What is this odd quest to look edgy without actually being edgy? If you don't have "G men D" to actually say what it stands for, simply repeating "G men D" 10 times in a script does not make you edgy.

The movie is confused about what it wants to be - a dark comedy, crime thriller or a character study - and in the end, it fails to be any thing.

Don't fall for the unnecessary hateful reviews. It's worth your time.

I was eagerly waiting for this movie since I saw the trailer. It surely has a brilliant concept, although it's a remake of German cult Run Lola Run. But this movie is completely Indianized. A large section of people are hating it just because it stars Tapsee pannu. But look beyond all that and appreciate the art. It's technically brilliant, beautifully shot. Cinematography, art, production design, music is great. It does have it's flaws as well. People may find Time loop thrillers boring due to its repetitive nature of events in the movie, this movie suffers a bit there but that's compensated by the wackiness of the characters and the way their whole world is shown to us. Tapsee is great to watch, but Tahir Raj Bhasin steals the show. Also noteworthy to mention the characters of two brothers, they've done a great job. Even if it's a remake, it's still better as a genre concept. It's not a masterpiece, but it should be viewed as it is. Once you get sucked into the world of these characters, it's a great ride. This movie can be put with the likes of Kaalakandi, Delhi belly, Mard ko Dard nahi hota, etc. Hindi film industry needs to make such kind of movies more.

A good one time watch

Don't get why so many bad reviews.

Was interested after seeing taapsee & the theme of remake. As always here acting style is great. Tahir is surprisingly very good.

Something I loved was the cinematography& set design. Very hip for a Hindi film.

Really don't understand why so many gave given it bas reviews. This was actually pretty decent.

It's a fun watch, for one time. Acting is good, storyline is ok. Production & cinematography is pretty artsy & hip.

Lapeto par itana bhi nahi bc

Tahir was brilliant in kali kali ankhey.

Looop lapeta is a mistake. Nothing exciting.

Boring flick.

Tapsee was best in Pink. After that not so much.

Make people connect with all aspects.
