Kocowa+ Launches Fall Season with New Reality, SitCom, K-Drama, and True Crime Series, Along with Additional Classic Films, including Zombie Favorite Train to Busan

With the ongoing labor disputes casting shadows on Hollywood, audiences are turning to alternative streaming platforms for their entertainment fix. Leading the charge in offering a captivating alternative is Kocowa+, the premier Korean content streamer, stepping up to deliver an impressive 40,000-hour library and an exciting lineup of five new shows this month. Kocowa+ is also expanding its collection with more timeless Korean films, including the internationally acclaimed zombie blockbuster, “Train to Busan.”

Kocowa+ CEO KunHee Park expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming fall season, stating, “We're thrilled to kick off our autumn lineup with a diverse array of new shows and films. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and HBO Max got the memo. With its list of new releases for February 2023, the HBO streamer is bringing a very special Valentine’s Day episode into the fold.

Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special premieres on Feb. 9 and finds Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy celebrating their first Valentine’s Day together. Consider this a fun little aperitif for the fast approaching Harley Quinn season 3 – which will feature none other than freshly-installed DC czar James Gunn. Other HBO Max original series this month include another C.B. Strike special on Feb. 6 and Spanish-language animated comedy Poor Devil a.k.a. Pobre Diablo on Feb. 17.

Lisa Banes Dies After Hit-And-Run: ‘Gone Girl’, Broadway Actress Was 65

Lisa Banes, known for her roles in the films Gone Girl and Cocktail, as well as numerous Broadway productions, died yesterday, 10 days after being struck by a scooter or a similar vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in New York City. She was 65.

“We are heartsick over Lisa’s tragic and senseless passing,” said manager David Williams. “She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work, whether on stage or in front of a camera and even more so to her wife, family and friends. We were blessed to have had her in our lives.”

Zhang Lu, who began his career with the short film “Eleven” (2000), is already an established director. His second feature “Grain in Ear” (2005) won the Acid award at Cannes and he attended the Berlin International Film Festivals two times before with his films “Desert Dream” (2007) and “Dooman River” (2011). Zhang Lu was also part of the jury of Busan International Film Festival in 2016. His latest film, “Fukuoka” tells us about love triangles, ghosts and the ambiguity of language.
