Is this film better than any of that woke stuff which falls out of Hollywood nowadays? Yes, definitely.
Unfortunately, we live in a global world where the influence of Hollywood spreads far beyond USA. Don't get me wrong, as far as film-crafting is concerned, this film doesn't share any traits with Hollywood flicks. However, seeds of a creeping wokennes can be found. It manifests differently and it's not as bad but I fear it's a sign of things to come.
All in all, the film is fun, albeit a little bit slow at times. Older people will appreciate it more. If you liked Gran Torino, then you are going to love this one (if you like comedies as well). The idea of Janzurova as a female and inept version of the old Clint Eastwood is especially funny.
This film describes the mentality of the Czech nation very well. It is very likely that foreigners will not understand it. But if you are more interested in how it works in the Czech Republic, this film is a very good example of what awaits you in the Czech Republic. Very deep thoughts are captured in the film, such as the fact that truth and love always win, but at the cost of great sacrifices.
A high-quality cast, where pavel liska played scenes that, in my opinion, were very difficult with thunderous calmness.
This is a comedy, so all is well in the end, but that's not always the case like in real life. In my opinion it was one of the main ideas of the movie.

In a world where corruption and bribes are everywhere, this movie shows that the problem with corruption starts with you, in a light way, with some laughs in between.
Whenever you accept a little bribe, you are beginning a new cycle of corruption and from there things just get worse.
The message is clear: be good, polite, have principles and morals.
