Global Constellation has boarded international sales on upcoming CG family animation “Mission Granny,” which has a Euros 10 million ($11.3 million) budget. The company has shared an exclusive first-look image with Variety.

The film, which is directed by Toni Weiss, is from the producers of “Marnie’s World” and “The 7th Dwarf,” and the animation studios behind “The Ogglies,” “My Fairy Troublemaker” and “Giants of La Mancha.”

“Mission Granny” follows brother and sister Paul, 8, and Kat, 12, who are shipped off to spend four months with their super-strict grandma. They don’t expect to discover their granny was once a world-class secret agent. But when her old friend turned nemesis has her kidnapped, it’s up to Paul and Kat to team up, gear up, and save the day … spy-style. They’ll have to train like agents, chase down villains, and stop a satellite-powered vaporizer before it destroys their mom’s space station, all before bedtime.

From its opening swirl of storm clouds to its climactic clash with a mechanized tempest, Storm Crashers propels viewers into a reimagined La Mancha. Alfonso Quixote—a headstrong eleven‑year‑old heir of Cervantes’s hero—discovers a sinister machine conjuring violent weather that drives villagers from their homes. Tasked with rallying his loyal companions Pancho and Victoria, he confronts developer Carrasco’s plan to exploit the exodus for profit.

Directed by Gonzalo Gutiérrez, this Argentina‑Spain co‑production (2025) presents spirited animation and an eco‑minded narrative aimed at families. Crisp character designs and inventive set pieces map a world where windmills transform from passive landmarks into symbols of community resilience. Moments of slapstick humour give way to sequences of genuine peril, underscored by a driving rock‑inspired score.

With its eco‑theme framed through a child’s imagination, the film responds to global debates on climate and property displacement.

Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17finally makes its bow as the Warner Bros title opens in 668 UK and Ireland cinemas this weekend.

Robert Pattinson leads this sci-fi comedy as “expendable” on board a spaceship heading for the colonisation of another planet. Warner Bros will hope to capitalise on Pattinson’s strong box office career. The UK actor headlined theTwilight films, which collectively brought in £135.5m across the five titles,while his more recent stint asThe Batmanopened on £13.5m in 2022.

Bong has also had successes in the territory with his Oscar-winnerParasite opening on £1.1m in the UK and Ireland in February 2020 from 136 sites.

Universal’s “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” continued its reign at the U.K. and Ireland box office, pulling in £4.1 million ($5.2 million) in its third weekend, according to Comscore. The fourth installment in the “Bridget Jones” franchise has now grossed $45.6 million, maintaining a solid lead over the competition and proving to be one of the year’s biggest hits so far.

Disney’s “Captain America: Brave New World” held onto second place with $1.8 million in its third weekend, pushing its cumulative total to $19.8 million. While overshadowed by the continued success of “Bridget Jones,” the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is showing decent legs as it heads into its fourth week.

Universal’s “Dog Man” took third place, adding $861,838 in its fourth weekend. The animated family feature has now reached $15.2 million. Black Bear’s horror entry “The Monkey” earned $763,907 in its second weekend in fourth place, bringing its total to $2.7 million.

"For La Mancha!!" Dazzler Media in the UK has debuted their official trailer for an animated movie called Giants of La Mancha, made by Argentinian VFX artist Gonzalo Gutierrez as his feature directorial debut. This was already released last year also under the titles Gigantes and/or Storm Crashers, but La Mancha provides a better hook. This trailer is for the UK release but since we never posted anything last year for the US release, why not catch up with it now. The story follows 11-year-old Alfonso, heir to Don Quixote, and his three imaginary rabbits, who are also joined by Pancho and Victoria. With their power of friendship, they save their beloved hometown La Mancha from a huge storm. They dream the impossible dream, overcome their fears, and use their imagination to find the real force behind the storm. So this is a mash-up between Don Quixote and Twisters?...

New films arriving to Hulu in the month of December include those that came out in 2024 like Cuckoo, The Inheritance, Storm Crashers, Summer Camp, Flycatcher and more. Christmas favorite Elf arrived on the streamer at the end of November ahead of the holiday season, and Miracle on 34th Street (1994) started streaming on Hulu Dec. 1. Ben Stiller’s new film Nutcrackers also provides a more modern Christmas story.

Beloved classic films coming to Hulu this moth include Cheaper By the Dozen and Cheaper By the Dozen 2, Cast Away and all four Twilight films among others. Ridley Scott’s first Gladiator film will be available to stream starting Dec. 2.

The feature has been acquired for Vietnam (Blue Lantern), Mongolia (Filmbridge), the Middle East (Empire Network), Eastern Europe (ProRom Media), ex-Yugoslavia (Blitz), Bulgaria (Pro Films), Portugal (Nos Ludomundo), Greece (Rosebud.21), Benelux (Just4Kids), Israel (Filmhouse), Baltics (Acme), Ukraine (Ufd) and Poland (Kino Swiat).

Produced by Germany’s Studio 100 Media and Spain’s 3Doubles Producciones, the story follows a dance crazy flamingo who must overcome personal loss and learn to dance again, regaining her confidence and saving her flock in the process.
