Puts one in mind of 80s "A-Team", with cigar chewing Hannibal, some frivolity, and extras emerging every week from a hail of live ammunition. This one's more straight-faced, but pretty entertaining also, not for its attention to detail, but for its unabashed 'send-up' of dramas that take themselves too seriously. It's cleverer than you think to appear to satirize yourself whilst calling out the contrived situations of other mediocre shows. 'Professionals' is recommendable for good, tongue-in-cheek family viewing. Tom Welling is one of those familiar faces, with a saucy grin, who understands perfectly his role in this production - likeable, unorthodox, sartorial.
I find it really enjoyable because they don't take it seriously. The chemistry between Welling & Fraser is great, the Europol guy is funny, the cartoonish evil siblings are the perfect villains in this combination. I would never watch it if it was a serious show. It reminds me of the 80s, like A-Team and some of those movies back then.
It's really bad in about as many ways as possible but kind of watchable in a sense that you're interested in how bad they can actually make it
Now I'm not hateful person and, since I chose for some reason to watch this show, I feel I have to find some reward for those poor souls involved - * I felt the theme music, which was dangerously close to plagiarising the Avengers' theme tune, was the best part of the show and it was used frequently enough throughout each episode to turn it into a bit of an earwig * Some of the locations were very beautiful * The end credits were very clear and easy to read

Show is made like they were in the 90s or 2000s, but it is missing an identity and uniqueness. Think of Renegade, Highlander, The Invisible Man, Burn Notice. They have a unique character that can make every filler episode and cliché still somehow entertaining and interesting to watch. This show doesn't. I expected that Tom Welling and Brendan Faser would bring it, but so far they don't, they are poorly written. But still they are the only reason I'm watching it, hoping for something, anything. But I'm afraid it's a lost cause.
But it doesn't necessary mean a bad thing. It's possible that the whole purpose of this show is like a target practice, to see if our favorite Tom and Brendan are still live and kicking and capable of something bigger, before they set any plans in motion. Think of it as an audition.
Because that's what I would do, because personally I see a potential in them.

This was a huge let down, as an avid Brendan Fraser fan I decided to watch this resulting in being absolutely mortified by every minute of it. I would have given this negative stars if that were in any way possible. This has to be one of the worst shows I've seen in years. The premise and the unravelling of the plot is absurd. The stiff and wooden performances are, at best, distracted as is the direction. Cheap production values, a horrific script filled with cliché after cliché, laughable acting, there isn't one redeemable thing. This wasn't a funny kind of bad. It was just plain bad. Don't. Just. Don't.
