What should have happened

I had a dream last night where this show succeeded. After Chicago, Sue went to Chicago to be manager in a hotel. After a few years doing that, she discovers it is not how she should have gone. She goes back to college to get a masters in School Administration and is recruited by a large private school to be a counselor. She was excellent at helping people both in high school and college. The only couple that ended up the way they left off on "The Middle" was Brick and Cindy. Brick becomes a world famous lecturer and writer about fonts. He and Cindy are married with 4 children. That means they had sex one time more than Mike and Frankie. Axl did marry Lexie and they have 2 children, brats. Axl is in charge of the Chicago office for the company he went to work for in Colorado. Lexie gets an offer to run her Dad's company so she decides to move to New York. Axl says he is not going to New York. None of the children have the same poor work ethic of their mother. As Lexie leaves, we see a backlight behind her and Devin Levin standing there. She and Axl get back together and marry and she gets Axl and his kids straight. Axl was at his best when the two of them were together in college. The headmaster who recruited Sue as counselor is grooming her to take his place when he retires. Meantime she has married Shawn who is a surgeon at Chicago Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He has recruited an Aniesthesiologist from Philadelphia named Dr. Barry Goldberg who moves to Chicago with his wife, Lainey. Sue recruits Lainey to run the music program at her school. Lainey, however, still wants to become a rock star. Sue convinces her she can do both and manages to get her a gig as the opening act for "Casting Crowns". Most of their members have another job as youth pastors at their home church. They convince Lainey she can do two jobs well. So Lainey takes the job as music director on the condition she can hire the neice of her former principal, in Philidelphia as her assistant. Sue is a highly successful school administrator and Lainey is the leader of a Christian Rock band.

Suggestion for change of direction

Perhaps they could have teamed Eden with Rev. Tim Tom. The 30 years difference in age would have made for good tension. Rev. Tim Tom could still travel to lead youth groups and Sue could be a youth counselor. She would have been better at that than a Hospitality manger anyway.
