Angels of Death was the latest anime to fall victim to over-hyping and thus had it's IMDB rating tanked. Angels of Death is a mystery thriller anime full of enagmatic characters, gore and a decent amount of action. The show has a rather slow yet intriguing form of plot progression in which each episode leaves the viewer with more questions than it does answers. Despite the show only being 7 episodes in out of a total of 16; many have taken quick to this form of development as the show lacking substance and the characters being bland, when in reality it's infact the opposite. The show makes it's strong points from the questions it asks, and the mysteries driving the show, the characters are evolving with the questions, and as of episode 7 we are only now finally understanding who they are. I'd say give this show a watch as it's not even half way through and holds true potential to be something great.
Encouraged by the high IMDb score I watched the first episode and it was quite a disappointment. Sick story with disturbing characters, annoying music and voice acting, and not a lick of originality. A 12 year old's wet dream of overhyped violence with an obvious intent to up the ante compared to the last similar anime, that makes mature audiences either yawn or want to vomit.
Good horror anime, very interesting and
exciting. I'm fan of the rpg and i find this transposition very well made.
The story is something different, try it.
About the first 2/3 of the show feel like you're watching a weird dream, which I mean in a good way. The last 1/3 feels like a middle-schooler trying to sound deep. It's not as gross or violent as some reviews suggest. Overall, I'd compare it to an above-average video game movie from the mid-'00s. Take this info as you will.
It's definitely not your standard story. Quite confusing for the first few episodes and they don't quite explain everything at the end. Rather a strange anime indeed. While a masterpiece it is not, it was rather interesting. Just expect to not understand a lot of what is going on. Worth a watch.
