Suffering from panic attacks for about a month now it's horrible, this isn't my usual show but I somehow got watching it and it really helped me through the hardest time in my life.

Me? Watch a programme about two old blokes with dodgy tickers going fishing? With my reputation? I wasn't sure about this but it totally works, Paul & Bob have a brilliant rapport & you get the impression this is so easy for them to pair up, albeit due to the fact that they have similar ailments in common. It's funny, thought provoking & a genuine "buddy" programme.

What I love about this show is you feel these two comedic stars are real buddies. They play off each other with great timing but also have a goal with a fish to catch. Whoever worked out the format deserves a pat on the back.
If you want to escape the stresses of day to day life then kickback and watch these two chaps doing what most men of a certain age would love to do.

It is like sitting in a pub, quietly, surreptitiously listening to two old friends reminiscing and talking nonsense.
The "script", music and photography are truly magnificent.
Long may it continue.
What's not to love about this series?
Two of England's favourite funny men talking through life and fishing after both having health scares Both of these men have been corner stones of the comedy in the UK since the early 90's in there respective duo's but were firm friends before embarking on this BBC gem
May both live to be much older and brighten our screens for years to come.

2 comedians produce something only occasionally funny, but always profound. A meditation on death that soothes the soul, and calms the clouded mind. If you don't expect their comedy of old, you will be rewarded with pathos in spades

Never left a review of anything or anyone.
This is so completely life affirming.
The fishing is secondary.
If this doesn't make smile and want to spend time with friends, laughing and smiling you may need to check your pulse.

Sometimes in life, all you need is half an hour of two incredibly funny men fishing, chatting, introspecting and making you laugh and that is what you get here. Gone Fishing is relaxing, beautiful on the eye, occasionally quite moving and, above all, just funny. It's a show I could watch again and again.

"MORTIMER & WHITEHOUSE: GONE FISHING" is one of the best shows on tv at the moment. It's nice watching the pair chatting, eating and fishing in various beautiful settings and is effectively relaxing entertainment. Fantastic.

It doesn't matter whether you fish or not this beautiful series is perfection. Rarely have I seen a program that shows our Country in such a glorious light. Mortimer and Whitehouse rapport is both hilariously funny and at times very moving. The background music is also perfectly chosen, The Proclaimers - After you've gone in Season 2 is a particularly moving highlight as is Vide Cor Meum at the close of Season 3. If you want 30 minutes of calm joyous television after the stresses of modern living please watch this show.

I must be honest, I have never been a great fan of either of the stars of the show in their other shows...but, this show is an absolute joy to watch.
Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse are obviously good friends, this is apparent from the very first minutes of the first episode, they have a genuine rapport that can only be built over years of friendship, they are relaxed in each others company and their 'idle' chat is natural, unforced and unscripted.
Mr Whitehouse shows his genuine love and actual great knowledge of fishing while Mr Mortimer has a puppies enthusiasm and a real wish for his friend to achieve his per episode goal.
Sometimes poignient, sometimes funny ( laugh out loud in parts ) but always a pure joy.....I'm hooked.

Really enjoyed the earlier series... now with growing popularity and a growing budget it's just seems really scriped and dare I say ingenuine now.
The 2021 Christmas special highlighted this, with the obvious ending.
It's going the way top gear went.

This makes Last of the Summer Wine look like The Fast & The Furious. They're a likeable pair of old geezers, though.
...I'm reducing the rating from 6 to 1 after seeing the 2020 Christmas Special. Besides being one of the flimsiest things ever produced by people of any talent at all (though Bob Mortimer does have a long history of flimsy shows), I'm disgusted that they used it to plug Paul Whitehouse's Only Fools stage show. How on earth can they get away with that? A totally cynical anti-Christmas move, it exposed the 'hakuna matata' vibe of the show as the BS it is. It may backfire though: the cast from the show looked rubbish.

I didn't know what to expect, but I like them both so I had a look at it. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. A strange format but it works really well. I immediately added it to my favourites on iPlayer. I hope they make another series, maybe doing something else next time or maybe the same again, it doesn't really matter as the entertainment and the fun is watching them both spending time together.

You're going to think I'm a fool for watching it when I don't like fishing & never been a big fan of Paul or Bob but guess what.......... I loved it!
Both are very warm people with a great sense of humour, add the beautiful surroundings and you have a hit series on your hands.

This show is just a genuine nice show about two comedian friends who just so happen to have had heart operations and now are living life to the full. Its a show you will just smile at throughout

I thought this would be really boring but it's not, it's just lovely. I stumbled across it by accident one night- nothing else on. It's now one of my favourite programmes. The superb filming, the easy banter between the two. It's very calming, and it leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling. The Christmas special was great too

Two of the best comics of my generation, messing around fishing and having a laugh.
I rated it a 10 and have put in a complaint with Amazon about not being able to give it 13 1/2 out of 10 which it clearly deserves.
Love the programme...

Never has television been as good as this. I adore the locations, I marvel at the photography, but most of all I love the friendship.
Never stop Paul, we all know Bob will never make a proper fisherman, but who cares, the journey is so fulfilling.
Masterful photography and expected Mortimer and Whitehouse banter make this exactly what I expect they set out to achieve. Predominantly heart-warming and wholesome, this show was meant to make people reflective and self-aware with what it is in life they hold dearest. Truly a show for any viewer, and I implore you to watch it on a cold Sunday afternoon.
Something about this show just brings me peace, the fishing itself is decent viewing on it's own even though I am not into it personally.
Where the show really shines is Bob and Paul, their genuine friendship is something beautiful to watch. I have always been a huge fan of them since I was a young lad in the 1990s. Bob is probably one of the most naturally funny people on this planet and Paul is one of the most talented when it comes to impressions and voices.
Another plus is the interesting guests they have on, whether that be a doctor or famous show biz friend of theirs. Also Ted is very cute for an old dog and I hope he finds his briefcase.

Firstly, great show scenic, interesting amusing at times ra de ra. But, am I the only person that sees that bob is much more invested into the 'friendship' than white house is? I maybe wrong out of order etc but it seems to me that White House thinks he's somehow superior to bob to the point where I feel like white house isnt a true friend he is just tolerating bob. That's how it comes across to me anyways. Be careful bob (my comedy hero). Ya know when u fancy a girl but you like her more than she likes you?? You can do better bob. Find yourself a true true friend. Southerners and northerners don't mix, they think we're beneath them. Do yourself a fav Robert n get rid.
If you are boring, and like when nothing happens, you'll love this show!
