I stumbled into Josh Gates incidentally by watching Expedition Unknown. Initially very interesting, though the highly scripted, formulaic and repetitive nature was letting me down.

This series explores interesting locations or history, but without all the staged scenes which is very refreshing.

You might get less eye candy but more content and staging, it has more a documentary nature instead of Reality TV which is often not real.

Give this one a try even if you did not like Expedition Unknown for the reasons outlined.

Ok I just saw your pooch and I have to say I took you as a lab or Retriever kind of guy not a purse pooch lol. But I watch both shows which is educational and my kids loved/loves your shows. My son did until I lost him to illness in 2020. Parents should encourage their children to watch your show for the history you bring to television. And by the way requiring six hundred characters is a bit too much no wonder you don't have many reviews because I am only adding these comments to use up the character requirements. Have I said it is way too many? I'm now down to 29 characters and I am babbling to take up space lol.

This is so weird.... Easily the worst "documentary" I've ever seen. Absolutely painful if you are studying history. To be honest, same goes for anyone who learned scientific work. And for anyone who is slightly interested in History.

NOTHING about this is good, actually it is harmful, because it shows history in an anachronistic way, says that objectively false information are facts and does the same for extremely debated topics. This show is garbage.
