TV is always looking for blossoming new audiences, and it seems that teenagers are exactly the demographic networks are looking for. Teen dramas often focus on a lot of themes, especially romance, meaning that some shows tend to be close replicas of their predecessors. However, in the last 5 years, teen dramas have experienced an exponential rise in popularity.
Judging by the nature of these modern dramas, it's evident that the young audience wants more out of TV. Now that they can stream a collection of unique shows with the touch of a button, certain producers are now forced to up their game. Thus, it seems that the 2020s is the decade for all things young.

School Spirits will conclude its second season on Paramount+ in March, leaving just a few episodes left to go as the story continues to build up towards the finale. While the wait for episode 206 will be just a little longer, Cbr can exclusively unveil a sneak peek clip.
In the clip, Maddie (Peyton List) and the others begin to grow weary over the absence of Janet Hamilton (Jess Gabor). The tension is broken when visitors in "murder vans" arrive at the school, but this doesn't bring the answers that the group is expecting. Fans will have to check out the episode in full to see what happens when it starts streaming on Paramount+ on Feb. 20. For now, the new clip can be viewed below.

Quick LinksWhy Prime Video Canceled The Wilds After Season 2The Original 4-Season Pitch for The Wilds
Before there was Yellowjackets, there was The Wilds, but without cannibalism. The Wilds was the first young adult series to premiere on Amazon Prime Video as part of a new initiative ushered in by Head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke. Whereas the series found its footing in the first season, Season 2's underwhelming performance elicited a cancelation.
The Wilds is a tame mix between Lost and Yellowjackets with a social experiment twist. The series follows a group of teenage girls who crash-land on a deserted island, unaware that they're a part of a social experiment. The girls' long stay on the island opens a plethora of secrets about their pasts and inner selves that brings them together or pushes them apart. But as much as the girls' relationships and the greater mysteries kept fans...

Exclusive: Grammy-nominated rapper Logic has boarded dark heist comedy Above the Line as an executive producer.
Logic’s producing partner Michael Holland also joins the project as co-executive producer.
The dark comedy tapping into Hollywood angst is the second feature of writer, director, and producer Jeffrey Scott Collins, after debut Poor Greg Drowning.
Described as combining the world of Swingers with the sensibility of Pulp Fiction, the L.A.-based comedy follows six Hollywood hopefuls who are roped into a harebrained plan to steal the Best Picture awards of a despised producer who has screwed each of them over as they struggle to make it big.
The film stars Cedric The Entertainer (The Neighborhood and The Last O.G.), Sophia Ali (Uncharted and The Wilds), Gregg Henry (Guardians of the Galaxy and Raising Cain), Adhir Kalyan, Reno Wilson, John Way and Jamie Lee (Crashing).
Collins directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Jono Matt. Ian Michaels (of America’s Burning) produced the film under the banner of Green Step Productions, plus Kemma Filby & Walker Barnes (of Bob Trevino Likes It) under the banner of Seasick Studios. Collins also produced under his production banner, This Seems Reel Entertainment.
“I have been a massive fan of the project ever since Michael sent me the script,” said Logic. “Jsc and I have a mutual love for the dark noir comedies of the 90s that have influenced this project. I’ve loved infusing my creative input into this film, and the music in it, and I can’t wait for the world to see it on the big screen.”
Collins said the collaboration worked on a number of levels.
“His music is not only bold, edgy, and incredibly entertaining, which is what we are striving for with this film, but his albums have always had an impressive cinematic quality to them, which I’m drawn to,” he said.
“He is a huge cinephile, and nerd, and the world will soon see how talented he is as a filmmaker. His creative input on the script, the characters, as well as the music, has been invaluable and we couldn’t be more excited about his and Michael’s involvement in the film”.
Cedric The Entertainer, who has worked with Collins on first feature Poor Greg Drowning, as well as the movie Why Him?, will also serve as Executive Producer. Other Executive Producers include Joe Grano, Ned Kisner, and Lan Kisner.

20th Television have dropped yet another teaser for Alien: Earth, their upcoming sci-fi horror series that will serve as a prequel to the first film in the franchise, revealing what happened back home on Earth two years before the events of the 1979 movie.
While we don't have an official premiere date, the series is slated to debut this Summer on FX on Hulu domestically and Disney+ via Star internationally. Also, with the Super Bowl right around the corner, there's a very real possibility that a full-length trailer could debut during the annual event, especially considering the Big Game is airing on Fox.
Plot details remain relatively under wraps, but the basic premise is as follows, "When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat."

Nintendo doesn't always do direct sequels with the Zelda series, but Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the few in the series, directly following 2017's Game of the Year winner, Breath of the Wild. With the success of both the games, and the arrival of the Switch 2 soon, Nintendo has the opportunity to do something extraordinarily rare in the franchise and make a Wilds trilogy. These versions of both Link and Zelda are very popular, after all, and seeing more of them could be a great way to capitalize on their recent success.
Tears of the Kingdom ends in a similar place to Breath of the Wild too, with Princess Zelda back on the throne, presumably as the queen, with Link by her side. The villain is defeated, everything is right with the world and Link even gets his old arm back, so it isn't as though the...

The following mentions sexual assault and abuse.
Lost is experiencing a renaissance of sorts since finding a new streaming home on Netflix and the release of the Getting Lost documentary, where cast and crew members look back on the sensation of the ABC television series. It's been 14 years since Lost ended with its divisive series finale, and it remains one of the most culturally impactful shows of all time for its plot twists and character depth. Many shows have tried to replicate Lost's success in recent years, but nothing has quite lived up to its standard. One show, however, could've been as big as Lost if it was given the chance to let its story marinate: The Wilds.

With the nostalgic love for teen dramas like Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries, the teen drama genre has been struggling when it comes to newer entries. While the early 2000s to mid-2010s had several long-running, beloved teen dramas, the streaming era has led to a rut for the genre, with most teen-centered shows struggling to find their footing. Despite several teen dramas premiering in the last five years, none have managed to maintain the audiences of their predecessors.
A big reason many prefer to rewatch old teen dramas than give newer shows a chance is the inevitable chance of an early cancelation. Several teen dramas, new and old, are canceled way too soon, not being given the chance to build up an audience over time. Some of these shows deserved a longer run, as they couldve had the potential to become a classic of the teen drama genre.

Marvel has a new TV show on deck, and this one should seem familiar.
The aptly named “Agatha All Along” is centered on Kathryn Hahn’s character from “WandaVision” and is indeed named for the catchy tune she sang in that series. The show will follow Agatha as she works to not only get her powers back after Wanda’s spell left her trapped in a TV character persona, but also builds her own coven.
Here’s who we know for sure might be in or associated with that coven in the “Agatha All Along” cast ahead of the show’s Sept. 18 premiere on Disney+.

If one were to rank all the major streaming services by queerness, Amazon Prime Video would be a pretty tough one to pin down.
On the one hand, you have to give credit where credit is due: One of the service’s very first stabs at original programming was “Transparent,” which in turn was one of the first shows to star a trans main character. That show now has a lot of baggage, but it’s hard to its understate historical significance.
Beyond the thorny topic of “Transparent,” Prime Video does have a good track record of releasing shows with LGBTQ characters and centering their narratives on queer themes; in particular, many of their shows focus on queer women, refreshingly avoiding the centering of gay men that defined queer TV for decades. This spring, the streamer dropped a phenomenal limited series retelling of David Cronenberg’s “Dead Ringers,” starring Rachel Weisz as twin lesbian gynecologists.

There are days when the success of the most Tony-nominated play of all time and its leading lady comes down to a gossip session with her co-star, a facial steam, and a poorly microwaved serving of Kraft Mac and Cheese. When the curtains go up at New York’s John Golden Theatre, Sarah Pidgeon transforms into Stereophonic‘s singer-songwriter Diana, a fictional powerhouse who is an amalgamation of the greatest female rock stars of all time, most clearly Stevie Nicks. But she and co-star Juliana Canfield have a ritual to complete before that can happen.

Yellowjackets offers a gripping replacement for canceled mystery shows, crafting a unique story with dual timelines and supernatural elements. The show shares similarities with Netflix's canceled show The Society, providing a similar teen-centered mystery drama for viewers. Unlike The Society, Yellowjackets has already been renewed for a third season, promising answers to its mysteries and a longer run on screen.
Showtimes hit show Yellowjackets provides a great replacement for fans of a Netflix mystery show from 2019 that was canceled under complicated circumstances. With Yellowjackets season 3 on the horizon as it aims for a 2025 release date, the show has endured substantial success as one of the biggest teen/adult-centered mystery series on TV. The concept of stranded individuals beginning a new society while trapped in a deadly situation has been done long before Yellowjackets, but the Showtime series has crafted an exceptional story that uniquely balances dual timelines for teens...

A successful TV show can be measured by ratings, viewership, and originality of premise, influencing future series. The impact of iconic TV shows like Lost, Adventure Time, and Game of Thrones is undeniable, shaping the industry. From The Office to Sherlock, each show builds on past works, proving that inspiration drives creativity in television.
The success of a TV show can be determined by the ratings, viewership, and reviews, but it can also be seen in how many series copy its premise. While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, having too many clones of the same television show can crowd the market, and often the copycats are a weak reflection of the original series. However, borrowing elements of great shows is what sparks new creativity. Sometimes the shows that start as imitations blossom into something unique that goes on to influence others.
Doubtlessly, every great TV series draws on past works for inspiration,...

Agatha regresa. © Disney
La serie ha pasado por varios títulos: “Agatha: House of Harkness”, “Agatha: Coven of Chaos”, “Agatha: Darkhold Diaries” e incluso “Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe”.

Few shows remain relevant following the end of their run, but Suits staged a big comeback last year when the first eight seasons landed on Netflix.
The former USA Network legal drama broke countless streaming records and reignited interest in the franchise.
Recognizing an opening to restart the franchise, NBC put a spinoff — Suits: L.A. — into development.
Despite being billed as a shoo-in for a pickup for the 2024-2025 TV season, it was absent from the recent wave of NBC series orders and the network’s fall 2024 schedule.
Thankfully, the lack of pickup isn’t bad news because NBC has yet to watch the Suits L.A. pilot.
“We’re excited about this. It’s a pilot and we’ll be screening it in June … Assuming that it gets picked up it would be for midseason next year,” NBCUniversal boss Jeff Bader shared this week, according to The Wrap.
