Thought this program was very good. The acting was good and would recommend for other people to watch.
Good storyline as well.
I initially thought this miniseries was going to be great. The initial 30 minutes of episode 1 was as good as any BBC crime drama but it went downhill from that point quickly. So many things in the storyline are implausible that I found it a bit cringeworthyin in the end. The acting and production was good for a NZ TV show but ultimately the script had so many holes in it that I can't recommend it.

I stumbled upon this series from a YouTube pop up. I didn't read any reviews before starting on episode 1. I was surprised to find the series quite well shot, interesting storyline with some side plots that blends well with the main plot. Loved the family relationship and how it interconnects with murder. The series also features ouches on how infidelity affects a marriage. Acting is pretty convincing. The first 4 episodes were good, the final episode appears a bit rushed and predictable which did spoil the series somewhat. But overall it's a watchable short series. After completing the series, I read some of the bad reviews given in this App and I really don't understand why. I suggest just to watch it and make your own decision. It's free on YouTube anyways and quality is good.

I like most of the NZ shows.
This one included.
Thought they made the police woman a bit dumb though.
Would love to see more of these shows come out of NZ..
Thanks so much to who ever downloaded these episodes

This is a soap opera, not a thriller mystery show! You can see where things going from 'start to finish'. So saying that it was't even a good soap opera. If this is one of the first home grown product from New Zealand things need to be worked upon, as this is poor to start among with!
Gripping, beautifully shot. Exceptional direction, writing and acting.
This is the first NZ drama that I have been excited about in maybe a decade.
I am totally enthralled and don't want it to end.
At the time of writing this I am dumbfounded as to who could have given it such poor IMDB rating, competitors maybe? Because this is world class and I hope it travels well overseas. The final episode was a little weaker than the rest, and interestingly was directed by someone else other than the two main directors. I think that was a mistake, as it wasn't as good as the other 4 eps, and not as well wrapped up, with things playing out too conveniently and easily.
Overall, highly recommended binge watching with lots of twists and turns.

There was a NZ soap called Gloss in the 80s. That was bad enough but there has obviously been no progression in production and writing over the years because The Bad Seed is bad if not worse. The acting is awful, the production is awful, the characters are irritating and the plethora of profanity, especially in family situations, is boorish.
Enjoyed it so much - well written and suprisingly well acted. The killer could be anyone of three people.
