A Vampire Short that did not Work at All for Me

I did not like this short horror film at all. For one thing, I made the mistake of reading a story synopsis before I watched it. The synopsis is totally different from the movie. The movie has almost no substance at all. Aside from having no likeable characters, the scenes do not cut together well and some scenes are difficult to watch because of the lighting and special effect choices of the director.

I think this story may have worked with a longer play time, but at the 13 minutes it is released as, it is a complete throwaway.

I would pass on this one.

Tick, tick, tick.... poor screenwriting.

Disjointed. At first watch it looks like poor acting on the part of every actor in the movie, but then you begin to realize that no actor could look like a good actor trying to read that ridiculous script. "Tell me a bedtime story."

The confrontation scenes, and there are a lot of them, seem to go against human nature. Again, this is the fault of the screenwriting.

Some of the shots are out of focus, and it doesn't look purposeful, just sloppy.

The choppy editing does look purposeful, but comes off as disjointed.

Perhaps this is a student film, in which case I give the cast and crew credit for putting this together with a really bad script and most probably a very low budget.

Confused and frustrated. Should I call an exterminator ?

At first I thought this was going to be a short about bugs, not that I'm a fan of theirs, but with the title Tick, you're introduced to something that might present itself like the giant bees in California. Instead we have a violent attack on this young woman who is trying to keep her sister or daughter safe from those who will enter, not in a way expected. The film isn't what it's suppose to be with that title, so I recommend that you skip this and not end up checking your hair for invaders.
