Depending on your thoughts about season 2, this may be either good news or impartial news to you. Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone has officially been renewed for a season 3. And honestly, we're surprised and not surprised about this news. We'll get into our thoughts in a moment. But first, let's talk about what we know about the new season first.
Paramount+ has not shared a release date yet, though filming and production on the new season has begun, per a press release. That means the cast and crew are back to work in Atlanta, Georgia and Oklahoma to bring the episodes to life. Previously, filming has taken around four to six months.
And actually, season 2 wrapped in August 2024, then premiered shortly after only a month later in September. So if the third season follows the same timeline, it's very possible that Tulsa King season 3 could premiere towards the end of...

Sylvester Stallone is set to return, reigniting his mafia empire in the heart of Oklahoma. Paramount+ has given Tulsa King Season 3 the green light, promising even more action, intrigue, and unforgettable moments from the underworld tale.
For two seasons, Dwight “The General” Manfredi’s character, played by Stallone, has gone through a series of cabal, and ending Season 2 with a cliffhanger was the right direction.

When season 2 of Tulsa King premiered on Paramount+ last September, series star Sylvester Stallone confirmed that a third season was already in the works. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Tulsa King season 3 is now in production, with filming taking place in Georgia and Oklahoma – and the series has a new showrunner! That showrunner is executive producer Dave Erickson, who also happens to be the showrunner on another series that was created by Tulsa King creator Taylor Sheridan, Mayor of Kingstown.
After writing the script for the pilot episode in just one day, Sheridan passed the showrunner duties on the first season of Tulsa King over to Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire). Winter had said he would be stepping away from the series after that season, but he ended up coming back for the second season, splitting duties with producing director Craig Zisk, “Winter handling the writing side and Zisk handling the on-the-ground production duties.

Tulsa Kinghas been a major hit for the Paramount+ streaming service since its debut in 2022. While its second season ended in November 2024, production on Season 3 is expected in the very near future. Martin Starr, who plays Bodhi in the Sylvester Stallone-led gangster drama, teased what's to come.
In a new interview with Collider at SXSW, Starr revealed, “I mean, I’ve only just read the first two scripts.” The actor, who was at the film festival promoting his new project, the short film Out for Delivery, also shared,“We start production next week.”
Starr added that he couldn’t say much about Season 3. “I can’t tell you anything that I’ve read in those episodes, but I am excited. The new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose...

Dwight "The General" Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) didn’t give Martin Starr's character Bodhi much of a choice when he muscled in on the entrepreneur’s weed business in Season 1 of Tulsa King. However, Dwight and Bodhi’s profitable partnership slowly evolved into a close friendship, too, and Starr states in a brand-new interview with Collider that he has read a pair of Season 3 scripts. Plus, the actor also reveals when production on the next batch of episodes finally begins. Starr said:
"I mean, I've only just read the first two scripts. We start production next week. I can't tell you anything that I've read in those episodes, but I am excited. This new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up.

Taylor Sheridan has a complete disrespect for one of my treasured possessions: downtime. In just seven years, Sheridan has created eight TV shows resulting in 164 episodes, the overwhelming majority of which he wrote entirely himself. Let that soak in for a moment. Here’s a quantitative but not qualitative comparison: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul combined were shot over 14 years and total 125 episodes. That’s still a day-and-a-half of television short of Sheridan’s output.
And here’s the thing: All eight shows are hits, something that not even...

Frank Grillo had a busy 2024. The actor spent 10 months shooting various projects in Atlanta, including Taylor Sheridan's Tulsa King, the new Supermanmovie, and season two of the DC show Peacemaker. The busy production schedules often intersected with each other, keeping Grillo from focusing on one role at a time. While shooting Tulsa King, Grillo couldn't change his appearance, which made it difficult when he went to play his character in the DC Universe, who had already appeared with a specific style in Creature Commandos.

Taylor Sheridan is a man of many talents: actor, writer, director, producer — and rancher — sitting atop the throne of a TV empire. Among his ever-growing list of hit shows, like Yellowstone, Tulsa King, Landman, and his most bonkers, Special Ops: Lioness, is something you might not expect — a reality series.
Sheridan grew up in a ranching community in Texas and is dedicated to preserving that way of life. He doesn't make TV for the sake of it but uses it to express his Western spirit and finance his true passion, and then does his best to highlight the merit of those things on the screen. Sheridan's real life translated to art when his 270,000-acre Four Sixes ranch in Texas inspired the Yellowstone series, and then art translated back into real life when an encounter on the Yellowstone set inspired his reality show The Last Cowboy.

When Yellowstone ended in Dec. 2024, it was probably not much of a surprise that Taylor Sheridan wasn’t completely saying goodbye to the hit franchise he created. There are two direct spinoffs available to stream, as well as a number of projects teased or actively in the works. The latest is an upcoming spinoff starring Kelly Reilly & Cole Hauser, who will reprise their Yellowstone roles in the as-yet-untitled series.

Even since Sylvester Stolle's Dwight Manfredi got out of prison and arrived in Tulsa, the lives of everyone in town and of his own family have drastically changed. Tulsa Kingexplores where one man's unchecked ambition can take him within the criminal underworld, for better or for worse. With two seasons aired so far, the show has shown how Dwight attracts people with his charm and confidence, but how it's ultimately dangerous to be close to him.
Stacy Beale, the Atf Agent who meets Dwight while at a bachelorette party, is one of those characters who find out the hard way how the gangster is bad luck. Though her character is not exactly likable, the plot twists she brings to Tulsa King Season 1 definitely deserve some recognition. Sylvester Stallone is one of today's biggest television stars as the titular lead in the hit Paramount+ series, Tulsa King. Looking back, the actor is giving credit to a 25-year-old film of his for helping to prepare him for his Tulsa King role.
On Instagram, Stallone shared a post to acknowledge the 25th anniversary of his 2000 film Get Carter. A remake of Michael Caine's 1971 movie of the same name, Get Carter featured Stallone in the role of a mob enforcer. While the movie flopped at the time of its release, Stallone noted that he considers Get Carter to be one of the best movies he's ever made. He also felt that the film reminds him so much of his new role on Tulsa King that it wouldn't be a stretch to refer to Get Carter as a prequel to the show.

Four of Taylor Sheridan's TV shows came out with new seasons in 2024, but I'm convinced that Landman is definitely the best of the bunch. All of Taylor Sheridan's shows offer something unique that makes them great. Whether it's the drama of Yellowstone, the action of Lioness, or the Western storytelling of Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Sheridan has made a name for himself as one of the best writers in television. Each one of his shows is almost guaranteed to be a hit, even when they all release shortly after one another.
As much as I love Sheridan's shows, they're not all created equal. The fact that four of his shows were released within just three months of each other makes it even easier to compare his acclaimed series. After watching all four, I'm pretty much convinced that Landman was the best of the bunch. The ending of Landman season 1 only made that clearer,...

Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King was no random mob show. It’s a tale heavily inspired by one of the real-life crime world’s legends. Sylvester Stallone’s character, Dwight, drew clear inspiration from the notorious mafia aristocracy of Palermo, merging Hollywood swagger with gritty, old-school crime family vibes.

Now that Landman season 1 has finished, fans of Taylor Sheridan's dramatic look into the oil industry may be looking for similar shows or movies to replace it. After the ending of Landman season 1, it'll be a long time until viewers can see more of Tommy Norris' (Billy Bob Thornton) struggles with the oil industry. While Landman season 2 is unconfirmed but likely, it's still at least several months away. Fans of the comedy-drama may be looking for something new to fill in the hole Landman has left, and there are luckily quite a few options to choose from.
One of the hardest parts about finding something to watch after Landman isn't finding great shows and movies, it's finding ones that can match all the different tones Landman touched on. At different times, Landman was a comedy, a family drama, an action thriller, and a legal procedural. With so many different tones and genres,...

The first season of Landman officially came to an end on Sunday, Jan. 12, and it's been a season full of shocking twists that had us on the edge of our seats until the very last second. Forget the cliffhanger in the season's penultimate episode; the season finale was even better! Now we need even more from Tommy Norris, Monty Miller, and all of the exciting characters.

Actor, writer, director, producer, and show creator, Taylor Sheridan has become one of the most notable names in television, helping to shape the modern landscape and push the format forward with shows like Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, Landman, Special Ops: Lioness and Yellowstone. Every project that Sheridan works on seems to become must-watch TV, with Yellowstone's divisive ending still resonating in the minds of many fans.
Looking at Sheridan's filmography, there is one notable project that sticks out among the rest, and not necessarily for the best of reasons. Considering the hype around Squid Game’s second season, it seemed that the Netflix juggernaut was guaranteed to win every chart battle that it came up against in its first weeks on release. However, while the new seven episodes that make up Season 2 have been binge-watched millions of times by fans, the South Korean phenomenon could not see off a surprising challenge to be at the top of the year’s first streaming chart. Instead, the mighty Taylor Sheridan rode in on his steed to take top spot with his latest series, Landman.
While Sheridan’s Yellowstone finale drew plenty of criticism from longtime fans, that doesn’t mean that people have abandoned his ridiculously large universe of TV shows at Paramount+. From Tulsa King to Lioness, Sheridan is a dominant force on TV right now, and the Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore-starring Landman is just his newest victory.

The following contains major spoilers for Landman Season 1, Episode 9, "WolfCamp," now streaming on Paramount+.
Landman Season 1, Episode 9, "WolfCamp," is the penultimate episode of the season... and it's very much written that way. Every step is made with the intent of setting up future story for the season finale and a potential Season 2. That means the episode is great at laying pipe for what's coming, but not so satisfying as a standalone hour of viewing.
"WolfCamp" reveals the fallout from Monty Miller's heart attack, but the bulk of screen time is devoted to happenings in and around the Norris family. Tommy and Angela butt heads, while Cooper develops a plan for his and Ariana's future. And ironically, the most random and seemingly forced part of the episode -- a cameo by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones -- is effective at communicating the message of not just this one story, but the whole show.

Taylor Sheridan was just another struggling actor in Hollywood until he took to writing. Since then, the writer has written several praiseworthy films and series, with the best one being Yellowstone. His newest series is Landman, co-created by him along with Christian Wallace.

While the series has been receiving praise and acclaim from fans and critics, there is one issue that could spell trouble for its future. And Sheridan better sort it out before season two hits the screens.

It’s been a big year for Taylor Sheridan with Yellowstone wrapping up with a divisive season finale a few weeks ago, in addition to new seasons of Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, and Tulsa King, while also premiering his hit new show, Landman. While Sheridan is mostly known for his work in TV nowadays, six years ago he reunited with a star-studded cast for an action sequel that’s climbing the streaming charts. Sheridan penned the script for Sicario: Day of the Soldado, the sequel to 2015’s Sicario starring Emily Blunt and Jon Bernthal. Sicario: Day of the Soldado is set to leave Prime Video in just a few days on December 31, but it has earned a spot in the top 10, currently at #10, that will soon belong to something else once it departs the platform.

“They’re very different,” Grillo said. “Marvel’s a different machine, and it’s great in its own right, but the thing I love about James’ and Peter’s DC is that it’s much more contained. Sylvester Stallone’s career is the perfect example of how to transition in Hollywood. The actor started off his career in action films, being at the forefront of films like Rocky, and Rambo, and then transitioned to films like The Expendables. However, he has recently taken another jump in his career, going from decades of film to television.

Sylvester Stallone’s collaboration with Taylor Sheridan, Tulsa King, has been a banger of a show. It once again showed Stallone at his best, as the mafia boss Dwight “the General” Manfredi, who sets up his criminal organization from scratch after release from prison. With future seasons of Sylvester Stallone's popular crime drama Tulsa King confirmed, a show in which he plays the head of a mafia family, we can't help but be reminded of one of the actor's earlier portrayals of a gangster. By 1991, Sylvester Stallone had already starred in five Rocky movies and three Rambo flicks, cementing himself as a bona fide action star who seemed most at home on screen when he was hitting something — or rather, someone. This is part of the reason why it was so shocking when his next project was as the lead role in Oscar, a comedy from one of the great filmmakers of the genre, director John Landis.

The latest Star Wars TV show, Skeleton Crew, has failed to hit the streaming top 20 with its release. 2024 has been a rough year for Star Wars, with The Acolyte proving incredibly controversial - and ultimately becoming the first ever Star Wars Disney+ TV show to be officially canceled. Despite that, though, Luminate's streaming originals charts for November 29 to December 5 (via Variety) reveal that Skeleton Crew failed to break the top 20. Here are the top performers for that period:

Actor Sylvester Stallone changed his fate when he wrote and starred in the sports drama Rocky. The Best Picture winner spawned a franchise that has included five more sequels and a spinoff trilogy on Adonis Creed. While the Rocky franchise may have put Stallone on the map, it was his role in the Rambo franchise that made him an action star.
He starred as the Vietnam War veteran John Rambo in Ted Kotcheff’s First Blood. Contrary to the high-adrenaline action extravaganza that was the sequels, the first film was a poignant exploration of Vietnam War veterans’ struggle to integrate back into society while also dealing with their trauma. This reportedly ended darkly for John Rambo in the film originally.

Across Taylor Sheridan's eight TV shows, 22 actors have had roles in multiple projects, and some even started working with the acclaimed writer when he made films. Taylor Sheridan is responsible for some of the best shows on Paramount+, and some of the most successful shows in television right now. From the massive franchise Yellowstone to recent hits like Landman, which set streaming records with its premiere, Sheridan's popularity has only grown with each new project he creates. Even as he grows in fame, however, Sheridan remembers the people who helped get him there.
From massive movie stars like Demi Moore and Jeremy Renner to up-and-coming actors like Jacob Lofland and Isabel May, Sheridan's shows owe a lot to the casts that made them up. Sheridan clearly understands how important actors are to a show's success, and he's asked 22 of them to take roles in at least two of his shows.

If there’s one thing Yellowstone is absolutely not afraid of, it’s ripping our hearts out and stomping all over them. Taylor Sheridan’s modern Western saga isn’t just about ranch life and family feuds, it also takes us on an emotional rollercoaster packed with betrayals, bullets, and body counts. From the moment we geared up with the Dutton family, we already knew no one was safe. And seriously, did you think living on one of the most stunning pieces of land in Montana would be peaceful? Nope. It’s more like, ‘Welcome to the ranch, here’s your cowboy hat, a horse, and the ever-present risk of a very untimely demise.’
