The Green Grass

I wanted to like this show. Some of the acting is okay but most of it is just BAD. After 20 minutes I turned off the premiere episode to watch something else.

This was a disappointment. It felt like every actor was trying too hard. I had to skip through several parts because it was just too cringy to watch. All of the acting was just...bad. I don't have any other way to describe it. Good effort, I guess?

The Green Grass was a labor of love for the writer/director and so it gets a certain amount of stars for that alone. The cast did a nice job particularly with this being the first feature film for several of the actors.

I hope to see many more films from Mrs. Edwards and continued roles for these actors!

Oh joy, another movie from Maverick Entertainment. I have to admit as soon as I seen that white ethereal horse galloping across the screen and seeing the Maverick Entertainment logo, my expectations to the movie drop down several notches. Maverick Entertainment isn't exactly known for their stellar movies, though they do make the occasional okay movie once in a blue moon.

The storyline in the movie was boring. It was like watching a snippet from a family's real life, except devoid of anything interesting or appealing. This type of drama just doesn't appeal to me, and thus I didn't enjoy watching "The Green Grass".

I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, which was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie. The acting performances in the movie were okay.

At least the production level in "The Green Grass" was quite a step up from many of Maverick Entertainment's earlier movies, which most definitely counted for something.

My rating of writer and director Tiffany Q. Edwards's 2019 movie "The Green Grass" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Everyone sounded like they were reading except for the Tristan character.
