Image
Ever since Manifest concluded with its fourth and final season on Netflix in June 2023, devoted Manifesters have been patiently waiting on word about the potentially in-the-work spinoff series. The show might have hit its own Death Date, but the fans haven't given up on Flight 828 and its passengers just yet. There's still a chance we could return to this supernatural world.

Most recently, Manifest creator Jeff Rake got fans all riled up on June 2, the Death Date, with a cryptic social media post. He simply shared the three words, "Not dead yet," and a sly emoji that sent Manifesters into a frenzy and hoping for some sort of announcement soon. Well, Rake shared an exciting announcement about a new project about a week later, but... It's not about Manifest.

'Wheel of Time' Author Speaks Out About Prime Video Cancellation
Image
After Robert Jordan passed away in 2007, the task of completing The Wheel of Time novels went to writer Brandon Sanderson, who rose to prominence thanks to his Mistborn collection of books. Now, following the cancellation of the live-action series on Prime Video after its "best season," the fantasy author is speaking out to give his thoughts on the matter.

Sanderson picked up The Wheel of Time novels from Jordan after his death, completing the final three books in the epic saga, with the last one, A Memory of Light, published in 2013. Despite his connection to the story, Sanderson says he "wasn't really involved" in the Prime Video series, and that his name was used "for legitimacy." In a video posted to his YouTube channel, a fan asked in the comments if he had anything to say about The Wheel of Time being canceled, and the author responded:

"I wasn't really involved.

"It's Such a Privilege": 'Ginny & Georgia' Star Says Season 4 Starts Filming Sooner Than You Think [Exclusive]
Image
After over two years of waiting, Netflix brought viewers back to Wellsbury, Massachusetts, this week with Season 3 of the hit mother-daughter dramedy Ginny & Georgia. The much-anticipated return finally explores the aftermath of Georgia's arrest at her wedding for the murder of Cynthia's husband, Tom, as she and her family navigate the potentially life-changing trial and the public ridicule the crime brings. Although viewers are still recovering from the twists and turns, including another shocking finale, progress is moving along swiftly for Season 4, and series star Brianne Howey has a big update for when cameras will be rolling again.

Howey recently sat down for an episode ofCollider Ladies Night with Perri Nemiroff, where she was asked about the status of Season 4 and when she and the rest of the cast would be back on set. The last major development came back in February, when the show's official Instagram page shared...

"The story of The Wheel of Time must be told," says star after cancelation
Image
Amazon canceled The Wheel of Time, its epic fantasy TV series based on the books by Robert Jordan, a couple of weeks ago, about a month after airing the season 3 finale. It was rotten timing, since the show got cut off in the middle of the story after airing what was easily its best season so far.

There have been a lot of reactions since then; some cast wistfully said goodbye while others seemed (playfully) angry. The show's passionate fans immediately got to work trying to save the show, circulating a petition and buying billboards in the hopes that Amazon would reverse its decision or another network or streaming service would continue the show. Showrunner Rafe Judkins has admitted that the odds of the show coming back from this are long, but he's not completely out of hope. And the fan activity seems to have inspired another cast member: Shohreh Aghdashloo,...

Canceled fantasy show gets hopeful update from showrunner: ‘Fans deserve to see the story finished’
Image
It’s been less than a month since word first broke that Amazon had decided to cancel its beloved fantasy series The Wheel of Time after three seasons, but the fans have quickly picked up their swords to fight to save the show.

Fans have been doing everything in their power to try to save the series, launching an active fan campaign in support of the show. Over 130,000 fans have signed a petition fighting to get the show renewed for season 4, and over $22,000 has been raised to help with the campaign efforts, with the goal being to use the funds to amplify the campaign. This has included the purchase of billboards in support of the Save Wheel of Time campaign, the first of these billboards debuting in Times Square on June 6.

It goes without saying that fans aren’t giving up on the show and it seems neither neither is its showrunner.

The Wheel of Time showrunner gives fans hope season 4 could still happen
Image
It's been two weeks since Prime Video canceled The Wheel of Time after three seasons, and fans simply haven't gotten over the streamer canceling its best show. The underrated fantasy series based on the books by Robert Jordan has had fans outraged and fighting for the show to be saved, creating petitions and starting a renewal campaign. Finally, the showrunner broke his silence.

The Wheel of Time showrunner breaks silence after cancellation

Even though TV Line revealed this week that The Wheel of Time isn't being shopped to other streaming services or networks, showrunner Rafe Judkins shared a lengthy statement on social media on Friday, June 6. He spoke directly to fans and addressed the question on everyone's minds: Why was the show canceled? Simply put, Judkins admitted that he doesn't know.

'Wheel of Time' Not Looking to be Saved by New Streaming Home After Cancelation
Image
Prime Video seemed to be completely invested in bringing several big fantasy franchises to life when they commissioned both The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Wheel of Time. It therefore came as a huge shock when The Wheel of Time was not renewed for a fourth season, and it seems like the thousands of fans hoping the series will be picked up by another streamer may have to prepare themselves for the worst, according to a new report.

Based on the novels by Robert Jordan, The Wheel of Time debuted on Prime Video in 2021 to reasonable enough reviews, but it seems that over the course of its three seasons it did not do enough for Prime Video to want to continue pumping money into what is a costly project. This was the exact reason Prime Video gave for the cancellation, saying it was a “strictly monetary” decision.

'Manifest' Is "Not Dead Yet" at Netflix, Creator Teases
Image
One of the most popular science fiction shows on Netflix, a show which seemingly ended back in 2023, is apparently “not dead yet,” according to its creator. The streamer has become infamous for quickly and unceremoniously dropping the cancellation axe on TV shows before they get a chance to really find an audience. However, alongside this, the platform has also saved shows from other networks. And such was the case with the hit supernatural drama, Manifest.

Created by Jeff Rake and debuting its first season back in 2018, Manifest features a large ensemble cast that includes Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J. R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, and Holly Taylor, among others, and details the mystery behind Flight 828, which suddenly disappeared...before reappearing just as suddenly five years later.

Many of the passengers soon find themselves receiving “callings,” visions of the future, with brother and sister...

Manifest creator Jeff Rake shares cryptic three-word tease on Flight 828's Death Date
Image
Well, consider our curiosity piqued and our hopes all the way up! All it takes is one little social media post from Manifest creator Jeff Rake, which only consists of three words, for fans to have renewed faith that either season 5, a continuation movie, or some sort of spinoff could be in the works. Rake shared his message one year after the show's official Death Date, making it even more loaded.

On June 2, Rake took to social media and said: "Not dead yet." He included an emoji wearing sunglasses and the Manifest hashtag. Clearly, he's up to something, but we just don't know what he's up to yet. Ever since Manifest completed its run with the second half of its fourth and final season on June 2, 2023, Rake has been teasing a continuation.

The series finale was quite the jaw-dropping game-changer, as the Flight 828 passengers returned back to the day their flight took off.

10 Best Amanda Bynes Movies And TV Shows, Ranked
Image
Hollywood has seen plenty of child stars come and go, their talents spent on any number of teen sitcoms and romantic comedies before life -- and in many cases tragedy -- pulled them in a different direction. But few if any were as remarkable in their genuine comedic talent as Amanda Bynes, the former Nickelodeon star who disappeared from Hollywood just as she was crossing into a career as a mainstream film actor.

Bynes cut her teeth as a stand-up comic at a very young age before joining the Nick family, frequently working with Dan Schneider, the infamous writer, creator, and mega-producer responsible for a massive portion of the network's success -- he's also the subject of all of Nickelodeon's most harrowing allegations of misconduct and abuse. After working on several projects with Schneider, Bynes appeared in a few movies outside his direct sphere of influence before taking a step back from the entertainment industry.

"We’ve Already Started the Writers’ Room": 'Ransom Canyon' Showrunner Provides Massive Update on Season 2
Image
Netflix is certainly taking its time to decide the fate of Ransom Canyon. The hit series has consistently proven itself as a top performer on the platform and yet the streamer hasn't officially renewed it for Season 2. During an interview with TV Insider, however, showrunner April Blair (All American) gave very good news to fans and revealed that the wheels are already turning to bring new episodes to life.

Blair commented on several aspects of the explosive Season 1 finale, from Yancy's (Jack Schumacher) shocking reveal to that death that we still have to get over. In order to discuss the long-term effects of all that happened, though, the Ransom Canyon boss had to delve a bit into Season 2 and where we will find the characters if and when we meet them again. She stated:

"We’ve already started the writers’ room, even though the show hasn’t been picked...

Jurassic World Rebirth: Scarlett Johansson Fights To Survive In New Photos From Upcoming Dino Sequel
Image
As part of their summer movie previews, Entertainment Weekly, ScreenRant, and Empire have shared new stills from Jurassic World Rebirth, offering a killer new look at the franchise's newest leading lady Scarlett Johansson, who plays covert operations expert Zora Bennett, doing her best to survive all kinds of dino carnage.

Aside from a handful of brief glimpses, the early images from the film reveal remarkably few dinosaurs—likely because the production is keeping the Distortus rex and any other mutant dinos on the island tightly under wraps, so we'll just have to strap in this Fourth of July for all kinds of mayhem.

With How to Train Your Dragon due out in theaters in June, it seems highly probable that a new trailer for Rebirth will be arriving online sometime before the end of this month as they begin to ramp up the marketing campaign for an epic Jurassic June.

‘The Long Walk’ Trailer – This Harrowing Stephen King Adaptation Is Not Afraid to Kill Kids
Image
The trailer for The Long Walk asks a haunting question: How far can you go?

The beginning of the official trailer, featuring Shaboozey‘s infectious “Last of My Kind,” sets up a coming-of-age tale before giving way to the dystopian horrors that await.

Based on Stephen King‘ 1979 novel of the same name, The Long Walk arrives in theaters on September 12 from Lionsgate. Watch the official trailer below for a preview.

The story follows Raymond Garraty, a 16-year old who takes part in an annual contest in which 100 teens must journey, nonstop and under strict rules, until only one is left alive.

Francis Lawrence directs from a script by Jt Mollner (Strange Darling).

Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza) and David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) lead the ensemble cast. Garrett Wareing (“Manifest”), Tut Nyout (“The Witcher: Blood Origin”), Charlie Plummer (The Clovehitch Killer), Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends), Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), Jordan Gonzalez...

The Long Walk Trailer Brings Stephen King's Bleakest Story To The Big Screen
Image
After spending years (and years) in development hell, one of Stephen King's earliest and most brutal novels is finally coming to the big screen — and we have proof! Lionsgate has released the first trailer for "The Long Walk," which hits theaters this fall. While King isn't one to pull punches, this is one of his most unflinchingly brutal works, with young men walking to their deaths while the last one standing wins a prize in a post-apocalyptic, grim vision of the future. Check it out for yourself above.

"The Long Walk" is very much akin to King's "Hunger Games," albeit without any YA flair. This is nitty, gritty, and very much R-rated. It perhaps makes sense that Francis Lawrence, known best for his work on "The Hunger Games" movies, is in the director's chair for this one. Lionsgate isn't giving us much by way of the plot, with the...

‘The Long Walk’ Poster – Walk or Die in Dystopian Stephen King Adaptation
Image
Stephen King shared the poster for The Long Walk, an adaptation of his 1979 dystopian coming-of-age horror novel.

Walk or die when the film arrives in theaters on September 12 from Lionsgate.

In The Long Walk, the country holds an annual walking contest in which 100 teens must journey, non-stop and under strict rules, until only one of them is still standing alive and receiving a prize. The story follows a 16-year old walker named Raymond Garraty and the teens — some good, some bad, some mysterious — in his orbit.

Francis Lawrence directs from a script by Jt Mollner (Strange Darling). Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza) and David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) lead the ensemble cast.

Garrett Wareing (“Manifest”), Tut Nyout (“The Witcher: Blood Origin”), Charlie Plummer (The Clovehitch Killer), Ben Wang (Karate Kid: Legends), Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), Jordan Gonzalez (“Pretty Little Liars: Origin Sin”), Joshua Odjick (Welcome to Derry), Josh Hamilton (“The Walking Dead...

Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia is perfect for wrestling and comic book fans
Image
Depending on the era you grew up in, your golden age of wrestling will differ. Some will say Roman Reigns’ Bloodline is the epitome of professional wrestling/sports entertainment, while others will praise the Attitude Era and Monday Night Wars as the epitome of everything great about the sport. That said, none of them would be possible without 1980s stars like “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Ric Flair, and Andre the Giant.

The bright colors, ridiculous names, and gimmicks combined with hard-hitting moves and dramatic finishes made wrestling popular. Fans of all ages cheer for the baby faces (heroes) and boo the heels (villains). The creators of Invasion From Planet Wrestletopia know all about this and combined their love of wrestling with a fun, interesting, and goofy story about wrestlers from Planet Wrestletopia.

Jurassic World Rebirth will introduce viewers to Mutadons and the D-Rex
Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Ariana Richards, BD Wong, Joseph Mazzello, Martin Ferrero, and Bob Peck in Jurassic Park (1993)
There’s a new entry in the Jurassic Park / Jurassic World franchise heading our way, with Jurassic World Rebirth set to reach theatres on July 2, 2025 – and when this one plays out on the big screen, it will be introducing viewers to creatures known as Mutadons and the D-Rex. Empire was able to dig up some details on these creatures, and you can read about them below.

News of the new Jurassic World movie first hit back in January of 2024, when it was revealed that the screenplay had already been written by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp, returning to the franchise for the first time since The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The project was assembled in a mad scramble after that, with Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards ending up at the helm. This new Jurassic World movie won’t be featuring any returning lead...

Jurassic World Rebirth's Mutant Dinosaur Has An Official (And Ridiculous) Name
Image
Universal Pictures didn't waste a lot of time reviving the "Jurassic" franchise following the release of 2022's "Jurassic World Dominion," which was billed as something of a conclusion at the time. While that may have finished a trilogy, we are indeed getting more dinosaurs on the big screen. This summer will see the release of director Gareth Edwards' "Jurassic World Rebirth," which will feature new dinosaurs in a new location with entirely new characters. And now we know just a little bit more about one key dino in the movie ... and it raises some questions.

The folks at Empire Magazine recently revealed two different covers for the latest issue, both of which are focused on "Jurassic World Rebirth." One of them features Scarlett Johansson's Zora Bennett, while the other features an artistic rendering by Tim McDonagh of the mysterious mutant dinosaur that was featured in the first "Rebirth" trailer.

“He’s Got a Lot to Prove”: 'Ransom Canyon's Yancy Actor Teases What Could Happen in Season 2
Image
As Season 1 of Ransom Canyon wrapped, fans of the new Netflix series were left with some loose threads that a new season would need to tie up. One of the characters that has the most to deal with is Yancy Grey (Jack Schumacher), who presents himself as one kind of person throughout the episodes, only to reveal that he had a big secret that he conveniently forgot to tell his new lover, Ellie (Marianly Tejada). In a recent interview, Schumacher talked about his character's path in a potential Season 2.

During the interview with Swoon, Schumacher commented on the fact that we did know that Yancy is a con artist, so lying is "just second nature" to him. At the same time, the actor mentioned that he does believe that Yancy is trying to start from scratch and be a new person, but apparently, old habits die hard. If the series comes back for more episodes,...

“I’m Certainly In The Dog House”: ‘Ransom Canyon’ Star Comments On That Major Yancy Twist
Image
As much as we instantly think about Yellowstone when we take a look at the fresh neo-western series Ransom Canyon, we can't deny that the show managed to find its own rhythm and identity in Season 1. For one, the Netflix series has a much less cynical approach to love — even though its romantic storylines have their share of twists. In a new interview, series star Jack Schumacher (Top Gun: Maverick), who plays cowboy Yancy Grey, talked about his character's secret, which is revealed by the end of the season.

The storyline of Yancy in Ransom Canyon is pretty compelling because he wasn't exactly looking for the love of his life. Initially, he comes to Texas Hill Country wanting to make money fast and then move on to the next town. He just didn't count on meeting Ellie Estevez (Marianly Tejada) and falling head over heels for her. It all looks...

Olmo Review: Soldering Family Bonds in 1979 New Mexico
Image
Fourteen-year-old Olmo López occupies a quiet battleground between childish yearnings and adult obligation. In the waning light of a 1979 New Mexico afternoon, his father’s body—withered by multiple sclerosis—lies tethered to a bed that has become the axis of the family’s survival.

His mother, hauling trays at a diner to keep three months of rent at bay, and his sister, lost to roller-rink reveries, can’t always answer the summons of duty. Olmo, then, becomes both nurse and mechanic: coaxing wires into a broken stereo (the family heirloom and his ticket to Nina’s party), all while wrestling with impulses both hormonal and heroic.

This film hums with the tension of poverty and immigrant perseverance—each creak of the trailer door a reminder of doors unopened elsewhere. (One can’t help but recall other “outsider” tales from the late ’70s—think grainy news footage of rust-belt towns...

Netflix’s New Romantic ‘Yellowstone’ Dupe Debuts Among Most-Watched Shows on the Platform
Image
The success of Yellowstone is undeniable — the Paramount+ series repeatedly brings in big viewing numbers, and it's no wonder that other platforms are trying to replicate the format. Netflix's latest attempt at the neo-western genre is Ransom Canyon. For a new and unknown series, the title resonated pretty well with Netflix subscribers, and with just one week it shot up all the way to #2 among the most-watched shows on the platform — it only failed to outperform the new season of Black Mirror.

Ransom Canyon is set in Texas and chronicles the feud between three families that own ranches and are fighting to control the land. Yes, it's a pretty similar situation to what the Duttons deal with in Yellowstone, but the story managed to rope viewers in: the series accumulated 7.2 million views in less than seven days, which is more than Adolescence did this week (6M) and more than...

Jurassic World Rebirth composer talks paying homage to John Williams for the new film
Image
The Jurassic series is on its third feature film iteration after the Park and World trilogies. And while the legendary John Williams ended his run in the franchise along with Spielberg after The Lost World, his themes have been too iconic not to be included in the proceeding films. While Don Davis stepped into the composer role with Jurassic Park III, Michael Giacchino would become the resident composer for the initial Jurassic World movies. Jurassic World Rebirth is aiming to return the franchise to its roots and the new composer, two-time Oscar-winner Alexandre Desplat, talks with Entertainment Weekly about paying homage to Williams with his score.

Desplat stated, “Every score John Williams has written has become an iconic score, so it’s quite a daunting task.” The composer of the Harry Potter movies and The Shape of Water continued to say, “At first, you’re excited, then panic comes along...

Paradise Season 1 Episode 3 Upends Entire Series With A Chilling Revelation
Image
Since Lost went off the air 15 years ago, I’ve been searching for a series to scratch that itch.

While shows like The Event, Flash Forward, and Manifest all came close, they fell short in many key areas, particularly with long-drawn-out mysteries that spin their wheels for too long.

After Paradise Season 1 Episode 3, I can confidently say that I’ve found a worthy replacement that has me questioning every character, their motivations, and, of course, where they fit into the mysteries that drive the series.

(Hulu/Screenshot)

Initially, I figured Gabriela was about to get the flashback treatment in this hour, but I guess that’s being saved for later in the season or series.

Sarah Shahi has had some fantastic roles throughout her career, but she’s delivering a career-best as this therapist with a wealth of secrets and knowledge about this rock, which became the perfect place to...

Frasier season 3 gets disappointing update about search for new home
Image
Frasier Crane might never learn what to do with those tossed salads and scrambled eggs at this point. The iconic sitcom character returned in 2023, about 30 years since the original Frasier's premiere on NBC and nearly 20 since its ending, for a Paramount+ revival series.

Unfortunately, the revival wasn't able to match the success of its Emmy-winning predecessor and was canceled after two seasons. But even though the series was axed, that didn't mean it was necessarily the end of the road.

Kelsey Grammer was confident at the time of the revival's cancellation that he and CBS Studios, the show's production company, would be able to shop the series to other networks and streamers to find a fruitful new home.

Frasier still hasn't found a new streaming home

Since Grammer last spoke nearly two months ago about shopping Frasier and getting the sitcom saved for season 3, there hasn't been much movement. Well,...

Universal Pictures has released an awesome new TV spot for Jurassic World Rebirth, teasing some of the most dangerous dinosaurs the franchise has ever put on screen.

In terms of what dangerous dinos we can expect, the trailers have teased that the fan-favorite Tyrannosaurus Rex will be front-and-center once again, this time finally taking part in the long-awaited riverboat chase, which is expected to be one of the film's standout sequences.

The following have also been spotted and/or are expected to make an appearance: Aquilops, Ankylosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Mosasaurus, Parasaurolophus, Quetzalcoatlus, Spinosaurus, Titanosaurus, Triceratops, and Velociraptor.

Plus, there's also a giant mutant dinosaur running around on the island that will be causing all kinds of terror for our heroes. The creature's design was based of a T-Rex, a Rancor from Star Wars, and a Xenomorph from Alien; and while, no official name has been provided yet, some fans have been...

Jurassic World Rebirth Featurette Harkens Back To The Original Jurassic Park In The Best Way
Image
Universal Pictures has released a brand new featurette for their upcoming summer blockbuster Jurassic World Rebirth, featuring some never-before-seen new footage and revealing how the new film is more connected to the original than any of the previous sequels.

Outside of the main cast of characters returning to Isla Nublar - the island where the original film takes place - the most prominent way the film connects back to the original is by bringing back Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park scribe David Koepp.

In the new featurette, Koepp teases the T-Rex riverboat sequence, which promises to be one of the upcoming film's most thrilling moments and a scene that has has essentially been thirty years in the making.

The cast features Scarlett Johansson (Lost in Translation; Marriage Story; Black Widow), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight; Green Book; True Detective), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton; Fellow Travelers; Crashing), Rupert Friend (Homeland; Anatomy of a Scandal...
