Erdal Besikcioglu played well, but the fiction is a bit overstated.

After the film, "what did I watch?" I asked myself. The film seems to have exaggerated. Erdal Besikcioglu played well, but the fiction is a bit overstated.

Compelling story with mediocre executiom

It is a very compelling story of a historical person who played an important role in Ankara during second war. The casting of Erdal Besikcioglu and Burcu Biricik deserves 8/10 rating. Co-acting cast is definitely at 5/10 rating. The movie sounds as if it had a bug during the sound mixage. There is an echo during dialogues and we even asked Movie Theater if the problem is with their sound system. They rechecked and confirmed that it is the original playback. Also some shooting places are not so realistic and it feels like it is shot in a studio environment.

Nearly Perfect

I broke 3 stars because the film isn't historically accurate.

Keep them guessing til the last frame?

At least this film tries to keep the audience guessing...maybe. Deeply emotionally in war scenes. This film is tricky because the lead actor (a spy) is actually trying to keep a country out of WW II. This comes through only after the fact of the action...kind of unique to say the least. The back story romance is kind of the usual in a war movie, so nothing unique there. Overall the story was interesting, even if unorthodox in the telling. This movie fills the void of history how the Ottoman empire remained neutral during WWII. Apparently history did not repeat itself because of one man's efforts to keep Turkey neutral, or so the story goes.

A huge and a decisive step in Turkish Cinema

If you say, "hey what was happening in Turkey during WW2", then this is the right movie. For while not being directly involved, Turkey was really one of the major fronts of the war in a diplomatic struggle by keeping its naturality and also its existence. Çiçero successfully makes us feel the tension in Ankara under the dark clouds of WW2. While introducing us to a really compelling story, interesting and dimentioned characters it also presents us historical perspectice and humain values. I congradulate the director and the composer for the scenes, the acts and the soundtract. Inspired by a true story still its not a documentary and it has historical errors, though its important that it is a movie if these times. I wish movies were more sticked to the facts but I believe its just not the right time, at least not yet...

Not rubbish but not so good either

Another example of this producer has no problem with COMPLETELY altering the past. Just like he did with Ayla too. Besides; Erdal Besikcoglu is as good as always. I can't tell the same thing for the dubbings of the movie.

The dubbings made me feel like i'm watching something from seventies.

Still alright though.

Pity for expectations

A very brilliant story has been wasted by the director. The story of spy Elyasa Banza is an excellent opportunity to create a realmaster. However, in Çiçero, acting performance are under-level, the scenario has lots of faults and thus, fails to create needed tension, everyone speaks Turkish but foreigner characaters very randomly starts to speaks their mother language by inadequate pronunciation etc... Therefore, Çiçero not only wasted a beneficial material but also failed to manage the level of an overall popular movie.

Not enough but good

Ok mostly acting is perfect or soundtracks are good too. But the only I didn't like it in this film which is nobody can speak German so they used dubbing instead of trying to speak. Please speak German then they can use dubbing in this way most viewer wouldn't irritated

At least 8!

The movie is at least 8/10. I have no idea why is it so underrated. I wouldn't really say anything bad about the movie. The costumes and scenes are very beautiful. Actors and actresses were really brilliant. Hopefully, this will get the attention it deserves and we'll have more movies like this one because our history is full of interesting stories to tell.

Facepalmed

As a person who is Turkish and struggles to write comments on movies or books due to being not able to find out the correct words, my words on the movie are for certain which has never been that much.

Bad acting (even though Erdal B. Is one of the best in Turkey) and cinematography, cringe-making animations and graphics(we are in 2019, come on!),awful process of the scenario and itself.

Disappointing even though its attractive subject and stars.

Significant Part is fiction

The story depicts Cicero as Turkish hero. The truth is that he did it for money. He tried several times after the war to get West German govt to pay him for the counterfeit pounds. The story about the autistic child is completely fiction. The end of German. Moysisch as shown in the movie is untrue. A significant part of it is completely made up.

Underrated master piece

Even if you are not so much in WW2 mystery and spy stories, you will enjoy this brilliantly made movie picture.

The camera, the scenery, and the acting are superb.

An absolutely thrilling episode of counterespionage, compelling even without much action and a moderate dose of violence, that will keep you on suspense until the last minute.

Tastes are different, no question. However, for me this film is simply a model example of non-boring cinematographic art.

Highly recommended.

Extremely Perfect based on Low Budget

As far as I know, the film's budget is quite low compared to overrated Hollywood movies. Especially the dressing and make-up of the characters are awesome. I've never seen Kemal Ataturk that much realistic! The movie presents perfect scenes of Turkey's baby capital Ankara, despite of almost a century.

Very Great narrative, anything could be better

Maybe a better editing would have a better impact that's the only critic I would criticize. However mise-en scene and cinematography wise it is a masterpiece. I wish the crew take a little longer in post-production. Those footage and the script deserves 7.5 minimum on Imbd. It's a wasted opportunity on that manner. It us nearly there Turkish cinema has a little bit more to progress and develop then it would take where the it's art deserves in ranking of work cinema. This would be the best movie Turkish ciname has made so far. Turks are good on series but have to work on movies is because I believe working in short period of time .

Best Regards to y'all cinema lovers from Austin, TX USA OZ ATILA.
