One of the best British movies, this century, though Stephen Fry, come on, after Fable 2, he just sounds like the butler.
The movie is wonderful nonsense and best of all it is British. So HG Well's wrote the Time Machine in 1895, who would have believed that a century and a quarter later, we would have our very own SF movie set in Muswell Hill of all places. Muswell hill is normally associated with Dennis Neilson and his vile crimes. They do not go back and stop him unfortunately, but what they do is have a wonderful time in the past which as in Ray Bradbury's The sound of thunder has dire consequences for the future.
So it is a tale of two bone headed female friends who find a time machine and decide to use it to stock up their second hand shop in Muswell Hill. Obviously, this is a wonderfully daft and British scenario, and it has a whos who of the cream of British comedy in it. Plenty of laught to be had. I really wish the Shakespear sister and Chris would make a doctor who special as it would be a marvel. This is the real deal for people who love a British farce.
A good soundtrack is essential for a movie, and fortunately this one has it in spades. Also, it is well acted as well. This could be up for an Oscar as the best picture, but come on it is British, we never get nominated for those awards.
Do yourself a favour and watch this before it leaves the cinema.

The film had a fun concept, strong actors and could have been a fantastic new British sci-fi comedy. However, the plot had no real purpose/aim, and the whole thing dragged by the end.
Some of the nostalgic scenes were very well shot, but outside of this, it felt like a student's attempt at a "what we do in the shadows" style mockumentary. None of the characters had any real depth, nor did you care what happened to them. Some of the jokes had some witty observations, but they were almost always were lost in the chaos of the script.
This was the first film in a while where multiple customers left after paying to see it at the cinema.

Just ultimate shovelware. Was just unexplainable. "Time Travel is Dangerous" falls short due to its confusing plot and lack of character development. The film attempts to juggle complex time travel concepts but fails to explain them clearly, leaving viewers lost. The pacing is uneven, with long stretches of exposition and rushed action scenes. The characters are one-dimensional, lacking depth or motivation, which makes it hard to care about their fates. Overall, the film's incoherent narrative and weak performances prevent it from being a compelling time-travel story. Literally please don't make me watch this again.
What a great film! It's done in such a charming way, the lower budget vibes actually add to the overall enjoyment. So good to an original and fun movie being made in this era of mega budgets or nothing!!
It reminds me of 'Grabbers' and "Sightseers' in it's very Britishness sense of humor and delivery.
The characters were lots of fun, good comic timing and leaning into the irreverence of the script. The plot takes some interesting directions which you might not expect and the special effects were done well, especially for a lower budget film. Some recognizable faces pop in here and there which is nice.
Highly recommend to go watch this at the movies for something which will have a smile on your face as you walk out.

What a gem - independent filmmaking at its best. A stellar cast that charms their way through this incredibly inventive world. Goes in directions you wouldn't expect but are very satisfying none the less. Yes it's "lo-fi" and clearly made with limited budget but it has a great heart and is an incredibly impressive demonstration of what can be done with very little. The duo of the vintage shopkeepers are immediately likeable whilst not being portrayed as being perfect or overly aspirational. The local scientists are a perfect portrayal of how middle management can ruin something with potential and the reveal of 'The Unknown' is gleefully unhinged! Miss this gem at your peril.
