“Kalki 2898 Ad,” the Indian sci-fi epic starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, will release theatrically worldwide on May 9. The date was unveiled across Indian cities Varanasi, Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Madurai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Bhimavaram, Kashmir and Vijayawada by actors in the raider costumes featured in the film.

The film, which is directed by Nag Ashwin and backed by Vyjayanthi Movies, was teased at the San Diego Comic-Con last year. While a budget for the film has not been revealed, Variety understands that it is in the region of $75 million, which will make it one of the most expensive Indian films of all time.

The much-awaited film Kanguva, starring Suriya in five roles, has resumed its shooting in Rajamundry today. The film, directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green and Uv Creations, is a mighty valiant saga that promises to be a visual spectacle for the fans. The film also features Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar and B. S. Avinash in pivotal roles.

According to sources, the team has planned a three-week schedule in Rajamundry, where they will shoot some action sequences and important portions of the film. Actor Mahesh Babu, whose 25th film Maharshi hits screens on Thursday, says he is glad he hasnt become complacent with his own work in his two-decade long career.

"I'm happy I haven't grown complacent as an actor. I still prefer working with directors who come to me with bound scripts. Also, I will continue doing one film a year because there's no point doing too many. Today, the economics of filmmaking has changed and the stakes involved are very high. Hence, there are always high expectations from audiences," Mahesh said.

He calls his forthcoming Telugu action drama?Maharshi special because it is unlike any film he has done in his career so far.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is the latest entrant to the family of Madame Tussauds, Singapore. His wax statue was unveiled at Amb Cinemas here on Monday. Amb Cinemas, a 7-screen superplex, is a joint venture between Mahesh and Asian Group, a leading film distribution company. Mahesh is the second Telugu actor after Prabhas to be immortalized in the form of a wax statue.

According to a statement, the statue will be displayed for a day at Amb Cinemas and will later be flown to Singapore to be installed at Madame Tussauds museum. A select group of fans, who were screened through sketching and other contests, will get an opportunity to take selfies with Mahesh's wax statue.

"Due to creative differences, my film with Sukumar is not happening. I wish him all the best on the announcement of his new project.
