I never seen such an annoying villain character before. What a disgusting overdramatic antagonist. Literally Spoiled the overall standard of the movie. Except him, the other characters are well put and maintained. I Must mention Anirban as Sohom! What a gem of an actor he is. So versatile and diverse in terms of recent script choices! A pleasure to watch him perform everytime. Parno as Brishti was decent too. Koushik Sen, Paran Bandopadhyay they are tremendously talented and veterans in their fields and it seems so! The cinematography is excellent with many innovative choices regarding the shots and thoroughly researched materials are a treat to experience. The Puzzles, The Riddles are well constructed. Sound score is beautifully composed accordingly as well as the Tonality of the film that has been maintained properly. Although the movie suffers some slow pacing in the screenplay department, with a very much predictability aspect. The action is too less; would have been interesting if it provided a bit more on the same.
In the end it's a pretty decent watch. It is based upon a city's history, rites and culture. If you are into historical adventures then you must give it a go. You won't be disappointed!

Good movie. Definitely worth watching, particularly if you love old Kolkata history, rich culture and traditions.
Product of a thorough research work on history of Bengal and long forgotten Bengali rites, rituals and heritage - all mashed up in a treasure hunt, right in the heart of the city of Kolkata - North Calcutta. Its like a Da Vinci Code set in Bengal instead of Europe.
The riddles used in the movie are very well thought off and executed.
There is area of improvement in smoothing some rough edges of the plot and making them a little more realistic. Also, overacting of the main conman and some supporting actors could have been avoided. Otherwise, good movie and far better than other recent treasure-hunt mystery Bengali movies of recent times!
An interesting trail of riddles comprising of clues pertaining to the centuries of history of Kolkata and it's nearby regions leads to an exclusive prized possession, with a parallel track of crime and greed for the same object.
Alongside, there is a good peek of the modern day reality and decay of the age old affluent rajbaris.
Full of edutainment, this movie is an interesting watch. You will end up learning a lot about the 'city of joy' - it's people, historic monuments and food, ever since it was a collection of three villages, till it was captured by the Britishers, followed by Siraj ud-Daulah, then again Britishers.
If you are wondering about the nomenclature of the movie, then watch the movie and find the close connection between Alinagar and Kolkata!

Its good movie atleast better than regular bengali movies!! The riddles and the connection with kolkata's history was good and informative too!! All people acted well except the villain. Looks like he tried to create his signature style of acting but ended up irritated viewers. Not sure why director allowed such a notorious acting even if the guy acted for free!

This bengali movie has something special to offer for it's viewers. And it is a beautiful history related story. The actors know well where to limit their performance. And this made a deep impression throughout the runtime.
Watch, meet with the historical figures, keep enjoying.
