Its an 8. This is the beginning of good production. You can do better. Just believe.

This is a movie that portrays how Nigerian society is bn controlled, this movie is an eye opener to how deep corruption has bn and how far people can go to cover their tracks, I honestly never believed that I was driving and watching this movie, filled with tears and fear for our future, Kemis Adetiba honestly just narrowed down the problem we are facing in the society, corruption starts with us as an individual, we need to personally decide to stop it from us even if it will cost us our loved ones, that's how we can eradicate all these nonsense. Kemi Adetiba just shed light on our daily lives can be controlled a million miles away, this awesome film maker didn't limit cost of production, put her soul and tear and resources to producing not only Emmy awards rated movie but an inspirational movie to all(both old and young). The only criticism I have is Kemi Adetiba, you did extremely too good to be a Nigerian production. You gave us faith, hope, longevity and desire to know that Nigeria hasn't lost it all, there's still something positive to hold on to. Thank you Kemi Adetiba, May others do to you that which you cannot do for yourself.

    Simply the best so far

Not surprise that it is Kemi Adetiba on this one but everything about the film is the best of its kind so far in Nollywood. Of course there enough room for improvement. Cinematography was top notch but most impressive is the interpretation of the story.

    Good but not fantastic

The hype in Nigeria and in UK made me decide to watch the film. The story line, cinematography, colour , actors/ actresses were fabulous, but I was disappointed at the end because my expectations as well as 3 friends I watched with were not met considering the hype.

I'm glad the film raised the Nigerian film industry profile even further. That said , in my opinion the wailing in the film will not attract international audience . I as a Nigerian felt the scenes where people raised their voices were over the top, therefore not enjoyable for me .

    One of Nollywood's finest!

I've had my reservations for Nollywood movies considering their long history of poor production. But this movie is a slow burner, that gets better as it progresses.

It draws the audience into the dark world of political power and the consequences of conquest-while spinning a vivid tale of an unlikely hero.

The lead actor's delivery was subliminal and this would've been a masterpiece if same could be said for the entire production. The gapping holes that persist in Nollywood movies remained as there were visible loopholes in scripting, acting, directing and cinematography, albeit at a minimal degree.

Nonetheless, this movie is head and shoulders above most productions and was quite entertaining to watch.

The movie contains many interesting Yoruba proverbs and sayings, many of which are engaging.
    • Goofs
In the burning prison scene, from the outside of the building the level of the fire we saw is not same as when Gobir walked into the prison. And if the prison was really burning like how we saw it from outside, Gobir wouldn't have been able to breath when he walked in(at least not how he did walk in)
