Edison Research announces the Top 50 Podcasts in the U.S. based on reach for Q2 2025 among weekly podcast consumers ages 13+.

The list ranks podcasts based on total audience reach from Edison Podcast Metrics. Interviews were conducted continuously throughout the quarter in English and Spanish. Rankings are based on average weekly consumption over the full period. All respondents reported listening to a podcast or watching a podcast in the last week.

Edison Podcast Metrics rankings now incorporate data from individuals whose sole podcast consumption in the past week was through video. In addition to being asked if they listened to a podcast in the past week, respondents are also asked if they watched a video podcast.

Video-heavy shows, such as No Jumper and The Pat McAfee Show, climbed 11 and 26 spots, respectively.

Kobe Bryant’s Granity Studios has unveiled a slate of inspirational sports-themed projects aimed at young people, including books, theater, animation and live-action.

The slate, announced Thursday, comes eight months after the retired basketball superstar and animator Glen Keane won the Academy Award for best animated short feature for “Dear Basketball.” Granity is also in production of its second season of scripted podcast, “The Punies”; and produced the series “Detail” on ESPN+. Bryant’s first book “Mamba Mentality: How I Play the Game” was published on Oct. 23.

While streaming services have offered subscribers access to documentaries and unscripted series for some time, it’s only fairly recently that streamers have been making original unscripted and docuseries, such as Amazon’s “The Grand Tour” and Netflix’s “Wild Wild Country,” “Chef’s Table” and “Fastest Car.”

But it was less than 18 months ago when Netflix launched an initiative to make more of its own original unscripted shows, resulting in hits including “Queer Eye,” “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman” and “Nailed It.” In May, Netflix signed a multi-year deal with Higher Ground Prods. — a company formed by former President Barack Obama and wife Michelle — that will include unscripted and docuseries and scripted content.

“We have, what, 125 million accounts with Netflix, and that sort of equates closer to 300 million active sets of eyeballs when you think about multi-user households,” says Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s VP of original documentary and comedy programming.
