Netflix has unveiled the cast of its limited series, Wayward, starring comedian Mae Martin. Filming ended in October 2024, and the series will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2025. Here’s everything we know so far about Wayward.

Netflix’s Wayward (previously titled Tall Pines) is created by Mae Martin, who also produces it and serves as co-showrunner. Martin’s credits include Mae Martin: Sap, Feel Good, and The Flight Attendant. They are joined by second showrunner Ryan Scott, who worked on such projects as Servant, Treadstone, and Fear The Walking Dead.

The fifth installment of the Bourne franchise, 2016’s Jason Bourne, has found new life on streaming as it cracked Max’s top 10 list on Jan. 12. Per FlixPatrol, the Matt Damon film, which currently has a 54% Rotten Tomatoes score, is in the No. 8 spot on Max.

In many of these conversations, Tom Cruise's legendary role of Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible is usually the first name that people say. Yet, there is another action movie hero who is a far better American James Bond.

Similar to James Bond, Jason Bourne got his start in the literary world with books by Robert Ludlum.

The original "Jason Bourne" films hold up as the best American action movie trilogy made in the last few decades. Loosely based on the 1980s novel trilogy by Robert Ludlum, Matt Damon stars as Bourne, a CIA assassin who winds up on the run from his handlers after coming down with amnesia.

In this rock solid trilogy, which of the three is the best? "The Bourne Identity," where the audience and Jason himself slowly piece together the truth of who he is, has the most involved narrative. Unlike the next two sequels, "Identity" is not only a relentless chase. Directed by Doug Liman, "Identity" also lacks the visual language (shaky-cam) that defines the subsequent "Bourne Supremacy" and "Bourne Ultimatum."

For my money, "The Bourne Ultimatum" is the best one. Director Paul Greengrass refines his skills and makes the movie move like an action machine. It also has a similar mystery...

Its hard to overstate how dramatically The Bourne Identity changed action cinema when it first debuted in 2002. While the action films of the 1990s had begun to prioritize spectacle and camp, The Bourne Identity told a grounded espionage story that felt far more realistic. Director Paul Greengrass eventually took the franchise to new heights with the two subsequent sequels, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, which saw Matt Damons Jason Bourne examining the conspiracy involving the covert Treadstone program. The franchise briefly took a detour with The Bourne Legacy, a spinoff that focused on the new hero Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner). However, Greengrass and Damon reunite for the underrated sequel Jason Bourne, a colossal box office hit that nonetheless deserved better than the mixed responses it received at the time of its release.

In October 2024, it was confirmed that Matt Damon will return to The Bourne franchise in the upcoming sixth installment, The Bourne Dilemma (via Production Weekly). Edward Berger will direct the latest franchise installment, with Damon returning for the first time since Jason Bourne in 2016. Of course, Bourne fans still haven't gotten over Damon ditching the franchise in the fourth entry, The Bourne Legacy, which grew out of the actor's dissatisfaction with Part 3, The Bourne Ultimatum.

As Damon eagerly returns to his most famous cinematic franchise, it's worth wondering why he left it in the first place, what drew him back into the fold, and where the franchise goes under the new directorial leadership. Remember, all three of Robert Ludlum's Bourne source novels have been adapted, leaving a wide-open road map to take the Bourne on a daring new course.

Jason Bourne 6 is still up in the air with few details confirmed about its development. Actor Julia Stiles is holding out hope for the sequel and the slim chance she would reprise her character.

The Bourne Identity proved Julia Stiles could hold her own in an action thriller, eventually reprising CIA agent Nicky Parsons throughout the film series (except in The Bourne Legacy). Her character died in 2016's Jason Bourne, however; the franchise has so far established dead characters remained that way, to keep the story as grounded as possible to reality. Still, there are creative ways to bring back the dead in action movies, either through a flashback scene or by relegating them to a character's personified conscience. Stiles told Screen Rant that's a remote possibility for Nicky in another Bourne installment, but she could also resurrected in a prequel movie.

A new “Heroes” reboot series is in development from creator Tim Kring, Variety has confirmed.

The reboot, titled “Heroes: Eclipsed,” is set years after the events of the original superhero series, as new evolved humans are discovering their powers. Kring is executive producing “Heroes: Eclipsed” with his manager, Mosaic’s Jordan Cerf. Casting has yet to be announced.

“Heroes” ran for four seasons on NBC from 2006 to 2010, and starred Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar and Greg Grunberg. Kring then worked on the 2015 limited series “Heroes Reborn,” with Coleman reprising his role as Noah Bennet. Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Kiki Sukezane, Ryan Guzman, Rya Kihlstedt and Judith Shekoni also starred in “Heroes Reborn.”

Back in 2015, while promoting “Reborn,” Kring teased the possibility of developing more storylines in the “Heroes” universe following the 13-episode event series.

Actress Shruti Haasan, who has been receiving a lot of positive response to her recently released song ‘Inimel’ with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, has started shooting for her next project.

Her next project is an international film titled ‘Chennai Story’, and is helmed by BAFTA-nominated director Philip John.

On Monday, Shruti took to the Stories section of her Instagram and shared glimpses from the sets of the film and the mahurat shot.

The actress also shared a video of herself enroute to the set in her car.

‘Chennai Story’ marks Shruti’s third international outing after ‘Treadstone’ and ‘The Eye’.

The movie, adapted from Timeri N. Murari’s bestseller ‘The Arrangements of Love’, is set against the backdrop of Chennai. It unfolds a coming-of-age romantic comedy set, and Shruti takes on the pivotal role of Anu, a spunky private detective.

Actor Julian Kostov is joining HBO’s The White Lotus, replacing Miloš Biković in the show’s cast.

Kostov (Shadow and Bone) will recur in the show’s third season, which is set to begin filming in Thailand this month. He joins the cast after HBO “decided to part ways” with Biković, following public criticism from Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs over Biković’s seeming support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

In a Jan. 24 social media post, the ministry wrote, “HBO, is it all right for you to work with a person who supports genocide & violates international law?” over a video clip of statements Biković has made about Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea. Citadel has been renewed for season 2 prior to Prime Video releasing season 1 of the expensive original series. The spy show, which is produced by brothers Joe and Anthony Russo. stars Richard Madden as Mason Kane and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Nadia Sinh. The series is centered around the eponymous Citadel, a spy agency without loyalty to a particular country. Citadel is the second-most expensive TV show of all time, with season 1 having an estimated budget of $200 million.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Citadel has already been renewed for season 2, despite season 1 of the series not set to premiere until April 28. Citadel will retain the Russo brothers as directors in season 2 while showrunner David Weil will remain in his role. While the episode count of Citadel season 2 is unclear, season 1's six-episode run may indicate the sophomore batch will have the same.
