Exclusive: Lionsgate Alternative Television is the latest business to be hit with layoffs.

The unscripted TV arm of the studio, which is behind series such as Discovery’s Naked and Afraid and Dirty Jobs, has begun a round of redundancies today.

Deadline understands that around 5% of the division’s employees are impacted. The unit employs around 100 people. It is believed to be the result of the continued integration of eOne and Lionsgate, following the $375M deal closed twelve months ago, as well as the general belt-tightening that is happening around the industry.

It comes two weeks after Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer admitted that its unscripted business was “feeling the effects of a continuing market correction.”

Speaking to analysts after its financial quarter, Feltheimer said that its television business was “doing everything you would expect us to do” including “reducing costs” and “consolidating smaller labels to create greater efficiencies in our unscripted business”.

It’s no secret that the unscripted television business has been struggling recently, with numerous companies closing down and the number of projects bought stagnating.

This is an issue that is also concerning Lionsgate, which is behind series such as Discovery’s Naked and Afraid.

CEO Jon Feltheimer, talking to analysts Thursday after reporting its “disappointing” financial quarter, admitted that “our unscripted business is feeling the effects of a continuing market correction.”

“In the meantime, our television business is doing everything you would expect us to do: reducing costs; consolidating smaller labels to create greater efficiencies in our unscripted business; and continuing to evaluate the mix of business models on our scripted slate to mitigate risk and maximize our upside,” he added.

The former Fulwell 73 exec has been with the Big Brother producer since January last year in a Creative Director of Development role, but is now moving across the pond for a “huge move personally and professionally.”

Her and her family are moving after receiving “an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

“It’s been a brilliant 18 month journey as [Initial’s] Creative Director of Development with major new series commissions coming down the line that I’m hugely proud of and looking forward to watching in 2025 and beyond,” she added in a LinkedIn post.

Initial parent Banijay UK confirmed her exit, but didn’t provide details of a replacement.

Reasons for another falling out between The Challenge’s Nicole Zanatta and Laurel Stucky after they dated and split again may have finally been revealed.

The MTV castmates dated years ago and also appeared on a season of MTV’s Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love, which featured part of their rocky relationship.

Based on spoilers (below), the two reconciled while filming another project together. However, several issues, including alleged cheating, may have caused the two to split again.

Taking to her Instagram this week, Nicole shared a slideshow with her new girlfriend set to a song by Morgan Wallen.

It features a quick video clip of them together and multiple photos of them smiling with one another.

Fresh from its launch earlier this month, Lionsgate Alternative Television is getting a little agency help.

The unscripted arm of the studio has signed with UTA for representation.

Lionsgate launched the division earlier in January, bringing together its own Pilgrim Media Group, with eOne’s U.S. and U.K. non-scripted groups, Blackfin, Renegade and Daisybeck Studios following the $375M deal to buy eOne.

It is run by Managing Director Craig Piligian, who was previously represented by WME.

All of the eOne labels will remain intact including Naked & Afraid producer Renegade, Blackfin, which produced Netflix’s Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez, The Yorkshire Vet producer Daisybeck and eOne UK, which is behind MTV’s Ex On The Beach.

Exclusive: Tara Long, eOne’s President, Global Unscripted Television, is leaving the company after ten years.

Long’s departure comes after Lionsgate acquired the company from Hasbro.

The streamer will host a panel on the event’s Thunder Stage on Dec. 2 hosted by Brazilian stars Hugo Gloss and Nicole Bahls. Today, we’re welcoming the next series to put queer love on display with the arrival of the trailer for Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Queer Love. Taking a note from titles like MTV’s Are You the One? and Ex on the Beach, Netflix is dropping a lineup of contestants in paradise where they’ll decide if they’re ready to move to the next step or move on for good.

A U.K. court has found reality TV star Stephen Bear guilty of sharing private sex videos and photographs and has sentenced him to 21 months in prison.

The Chelmsford Crown Court found Bear guilty of voyeurism and disclosing private, sexual photographs and films with the intent to cause distress after CCTV footage of him having sex with his then girlfriend, “Love Island” star Georgia Harrison, was uploaded to the OnlyFans site.

Bear is a former “Ex on the Beach” contestant and “Celebrity Big Brother” winner.

Harrison, who is also known for her appearances on “The Only Way Is Essex” and “Olivia Meets Her Match,” waived her right to anonymity for the court case.

The sex was consensual and took place in August, 2020 but Harrison had no idea that it was being filmed, the court heard. She later became aware that it was being circulated online.

Oscar winner Roberto Benigni is attached to Paramount+ original Francesco Il Cantico, as the global streamer prepares to launch in Italy tomorrow with more than 8,000 hours of content.

Benigni will front the show, which is billed as “an immersive reading of one of the most iconic texts dedicated to love.” Its announcement came at a star-studded blue carpet event at the iconic Cinecittà Studios in Rome this evening, with Paramount+ still gathering pace following launches in countries such as the UK and South Korea.

On Saturday night, Cory Wharton participated in the Social Gloves 2 celebrity boxing event at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

Cory, a multi-time finalist on MTV’s The Challenge, battled fellow reality TV star Chase DeMoor from Too Hot to Handle in a five-round exhibition match.

There had been quite a buildup from the first announcement they’d fight up until they met in the ring, with several altercations during press events over the past few months.

That included this past week’s scuffle at a pre-fight press conference, with a few punches thrown between the reality TV stars as tempers flared a bit.

Saturday gave them a chance to settle things in the ring, although some fans, and possibly the competitors, may not have been fully satisfied with the outcome.

Teen Mom Og alum Cory Wharton knows how to switch gears when it comes to his career.

The 31-year-old dad of three has been on the reality TV circuit for years, starring on multiple MTV shows, including The Real World, The Challenge, Ex on the Beach, and several Teen Mom shows including Og, Family Reunion, and the upcoming spinoff, The Next Chapter.
