Good to see some of my favorite actors on my screen again. Great movie, that has a bit of everything for everyone watching. 5th borough is one of the best indie films of the year for sure!

Decent movie to watch with friends. Had some familiar faces and the story held up to the end. I think the editing could have been better, I felt like it was dragging a little towards the middle but regardless of that it's still a 7 star indie flick.

I didn't think it was that great but it was good enough to watch when bored at home. The acting was good, plot was over dramatic and I felt as if something was missing. Still not bad but yeah..
Script HORRIBLE. Directing GARBAGE. Even camera work & sound are TERRIBLE! Even all of the has been A-listers couldn't save this sulfuric poot of a stinker. & Tara Reid should really just retire from acting altogether. Not to mention, that was one of THE WORST 'wrap it up' box endings I've EVER seen! & for the movie to be rated 8.6 out or 1100+ reviews, I find this to be EXTREMELY UNBELIEVABLE! AVOID AT ALL COST! Consider yourself THOROUGHLY warned!

I watched 5thB on Prime having seen it was rated at 7.8 on IMDB. It's pretty obvious very quickly that this is down to fake ratings and reviews. A few minutes in I already knew I'd been cheated and so paused the film and came to investigate. Clicking the rating and seeing the 'Top 1000' voters had given it an average 4.4 made more sense. In my opinion this is still too high. I'd love to see the Amazon stats on how many people made it to the end of this film. Less than 10% I reckon. I watched to the end so that I could give this a fair rating... it doesn't get worse, so if you survive the first 10mins, you could make it to the end. But it doesn't get better.
Fantastic film packed with an incredible lineup of stars. The plot is intricately layered, escalating with surprising twists right up to the dramatic finale. This superbly executed movie definitely calls for a sequel! Recently, I've been watching more of Steve Stanilus' films, and his signature style shines through here. In the story, Niko faces a heartbreaking reality-his daughter is diagnosed with a brain tumor, and he's scrambling for a substantial amount of money. On Staten Island, choices are scarce, but one constant remains-family always has your back. More twists ensue as Niko navigates through risky decisions to secure his daughter's future.

Not a big indie fan but being it was a local film from NY I figured why not. All of the "stars" I have enjoyed much better in their other movies/shows. Maybe it was the script that lead to their performances.
The producer/leading man to me made a huge mistake right from the start, while he was giving Brancato another chance at acting, putting him in a NYPD uniform after his past involvement in a major incident (you can look this up if you do not know) was unforgivable. It's at this point I turned off the movie. The producer and his own NYPD past should have known better.....There's a line you do not cross, they did.

5th Borough opens with an emotional punch-Nikos' daughter is diagnosed with a brain tumor, and the clock starts ticking. The film sets up high stakes, but at times, the storytelling feels uneven. Some plot turns happen a bit too quickly, and a few supporting characters fall into familiar mob movie tropes. While the tension builds steadily, a deeper dive into Nikos' inner world could have made the emotional beats land harder.
That said, the film finds its stride in the second half. Steve Stanulis captures Staten Island's grit with honesty, and the father-daughter bond anchors everything with genuine heart. As the story builds toward its conclusion, it becomes clear that 5th Borough is more than a crime flick-it's about sacrifice, loyalty, and the lengths a parent will go for love. By the end, you're rooting for Nikos, flaws and all.

How far would you go for your family? That's the theme of the film and it worked. Great acting with some real superstars in this gritty and entertaining film. The ending was unexpected so make sure you watch till the end. Clever script writing with many twist and turns. Love this one...

Had a lot of free time this weekend so I rented it and it was pretty cool movie. Steve Stanulis is a super talented director and actor and i've seen some pretty bad indie films but this one was high quality with a 8 out of 10 storyline and production. Looking forward to more projects from him. Keep it up!

This was cool to watch! Good acting and plot. It's refreshing to see independent films taking their time to make films comparable to the big films now. Kudos to the whole team.

This is a gem of a movie. Who doesn't love a movie with Tara Reid in it? The story is deep and for anybody (like me) that has had a family member who has been diagnosed with brain tumor can relate emotionally. A very well done film, thanks for making this! Good drama, acting and the best ending.
