Intelligent Questioning

Would have liked to have seen more research into the negatives on young athletes of the recent trend toward over specialization; excessive parental management; Summer camp excursions (parents as scheduling secretaries); specialized athletic school enrollment & frequent high school transfers. They could even have examined grade school sports such as tackle football with screaming parents & sometimes professionalized by escorted mobile food trucks & age level cheer leaders.

Liked the emphasis on creative unstructured free time. Perfectionism but w/fun. Importance of discipline; mental rehearsal & study.

Great show and good for young parents

I'm not sure why some didn't like this more, but I found it fascinating. To see interviews and thought of some the greatest and it reinforced my thoughts that you don't have to be the mold for a sport or pursuit, you need drive, practice, and luck

not the greatest moviemaking

But interesting enough to make me hang in there. having been an untalented from the nature , small heavy and compact, i have had my millions of miles in the clorinated water, enough to make me quite good on the national level, but not more than that. the rumour about me in the swimming circles today,30 years later are to be the one who fought most and trained most and got less back in form of results...well i know ny history, and after seeing this docu, weve learnt a bit more from the supernerds in the game of sports. i was yust a nerd....

have a look you might find it inspiring, thinks the grumpy old man.

Great show and insight from the stars!

Not sure how the other reviewers could rate this show so low. This was one of the best documentaries I've seen. The interviews with these athletes and the info is 2nd to none, especially the info from Gretzky. I have 3 sons and I'm going to ask them to watch it. I couldn't agree more that we have ruined creativity from the kids these days with everything so structured and specialized at an early age. Give this show a watch, you won't be disappointed and my be inspired like I was to do things differently.

you have to watch this!

This is not just a documentary about sports, this is a documentary about how to understand & grow individuals' potentials and how to live our lives in a creative new way. It just uses sports to give its message.

It's the message that make this documentary so unique: If we understand the source of creativity and joy, we can transform how we live & interact with the world. This is how we should teach our younger generations. Allowing them to be the best versions of themselves. Helping them find where their curiosity lies and giving them space to grow on, helping them find become a unique talent (in any discipline).

The culture we live in is all about measuring, rules and discipline. And this approach to life make the kids' life miserable. We think that putting more hours on the things that we believe important or right is going to make them better but it doesn't. This documentary is going to convince you to that. I wish there were more works like this.
