Mötley Crüe made quite the entrance to their first “Höllywood Takeöver” club show at the Troubadour on Monday (October 7th).
As captured in a video posted on the band’s YouTube channel, a garbage truck pulled up in front of the club on the Sunset Strip and deposited a heap of trash bags, a mattress, and the members of Mötley Crüe. Tommy Lee had the most fun with the stunt, rolling onto the pavement with the trash bags, while the rest of the band were a bit more cautious as they jumped down from the back of the truck.

The hilarious bit was a callback to Mötley Crüe’s early days as a young band trying to make its name playing venues like the Troubadour. As depicted in the infamous biography The Dirt, their living conditions were far from sanitary during those formative years, hence the garbage truck.

If you were in Simi Valley, California, this past Monday night and just wanted to knock down some pins at Harley’s Valley Bowl, then you were probably pretty surprised by what you saw when you walked through the bowling alley’s door: Dave Grohl hopping on stage with Taylor Hawkins’ son, Shane Hawkins, to play a set of classic rock covers with the late Hawkins’ former side project Chevy Metal. Check out the setlist and watch videos of the performance below.
That’s right, Grohl joined the band for an upbeat, uplifting performance, which not only included songs from classic artists like Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and more, but also featured additional guest appearances from living rock legends. Shane Hawkins, the son of late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, sat behind the kit with his dad’s covers band Chevy Metal at a couple of recent California gigs. The young stickman showed off his dynamic chops during shows July 27th and 29th at Gold Pacific Studios in Newport Beach and The Canyon in Agoura Hills, respectively.
Taylor Hawkins formed Chevy Metal in 2013, and would routinely gig with the outfit until his passing in March 2022. Shane, meanwhile, has proven to be a very skilled drummer himself, as seen at Foo Fighters’ September 2022 tribute concerts for Taylor, as well as a guest appearance at the Foos’ recent Boston Calling gig.
Shane pounded his way through songs by Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Mötley Crüe, The Police, Thin Lizzy, and more over the two nights (setlists here and here). Fan-filmed footage of him playing the Crüe’s “Looks That Kill,” Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick,...

A live-action Disney movie following Cinderella's evil stepsisters is in the works from Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the pair behind this year's comedy movie Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar. Wiig and Mumolo are on board to pen the screenplay, but because the project is in the very early stages of development, it's unclear if they'll also be starring as well, as was the case with their previous collaboration.
The Cinderella's Evil Stepsisters movie is described as "a fairy tale musical comedy that re-imagines the Cinderella classic from the point of view of her infamous evil stepsisters. Spanning from their early childhood through the marriage of their universally beloved stepsister and beyond, we follow Anastasia and Drizella Tremaine as they struggle to uphold their family's legacy."
As a pair, Wiig and Mumolo were nominated for a Best Original Screenplay Oscar for penning the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids. While Wiig...

Hulu is heading to high school. The streamer has greenlit production on “Sex Appeal,” a teen comedy about the not-so-exact science of love.
Directed by Talia Osteen in her feature directorial debut, “Sex Appeal” will star Mika Abdalla (Netflix’s “Project Mc2”) and Jake Short (Hulu’s “All Night”). Tate Hanyok, whose credits include “Transparent” and “Superstore,” will write and executive produce the film. Production company American High is backing the project.
“Sex Appeal” centers on high-schooler Avery Hansen-White (Abdalla), a perfectionist at least by her own standards. When her long-distance boyfriend hints at wanting to take their relationship to the next level at the upcoming Stem conference (otherwise known as “nerd prom”), she sets out to master her sexuality. As she begins to study the mechanics of love, she realizes that relationships require less science and more heart.

"When people see me, they..." "Die?" Gravitas Ventures has unveiled the first official trailer for an indie dark comedy called Looks That Kill, which is landing on VOD soon. The film stars Brandon Flynn as a teenage boy dealing with the ups and downs of being lethally attractive. His face kills - literally! Of course, since this is a teenage story, he meets a girl with her own bizarre ailment, who aids him on his self-discovery quest. Julia Goldani Telles co-stars, with Ki Hong Lee, Annie Mumolo, and Tom Proctor. This doesn't look that cheesy, I have to say, there's an earnestness to it that gives it an edge. Though it's still yet another film about beautiful teens. Recognized for its outrageous stories, Mötley Crüe has never been known for having a squeaky clean image, and it has MTV to thank for its gritty metal glam front. Just as the network was kicking off in the '80s, so was the band, which used the medium of television to pair downright terrifying visuals with its hard rock hits. As the group gets a musical biopic treatment with Netflix's The Dirt, we're going to see a ton of throwback imagery to its controversial music videos full of big hair, tight pants, and the occasional allusion to the occult. Here are the group's most notorious music videos, ranging from the nonsensical "Home Sweet Home" to the demonic "Looks That Kill."...

If you've been analyzing True Detective season three frame by frame like we have, chances are you've noticed a familiar face. No, we're not referring to Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. We're actually talking about one of our favorite breakout stars, Brandon Flynn.
Our beloved reformed bad boy from 13 Reasons Why has been popping up in the third season of the crime show, and we think there's a possibility he might be around for a few more episodes. Flynn plays Ryan Peters, a teenage boy who hangs with a troublesome crowd. On the day Julie and Will Purcell go missing, witness testimony reveals Peters and his two friends crossed paths with the two children. Following the children's disappearance, Peters is brought in for questioning, and he is interrogated about his Black Sabbath T-shirt (to determine his interest in the occult). While Flynn is only listed in the first two episodes of True Detective on IMDb,...

If you're as obsessed with 13 Reasons Why as we are, you've probably already binge-Googled the entire cast. By now you've likely learned that breakout star Katherine Langford is Australian (you can totally hear her accent at times), the guy who plays Jeff is a regular on another Netflix show, and the girl who plays Clay's girlfriend, Skye, is Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter. We've also learned that unlike Dylan Minnette, Brandon Flynn (aka Justin Foley) is a relative newcomer to Hollywood.
Literally the only reason he would look familiar to you - unless you've seen all those adorable photos of him and real-life boyfriend Sam Smith - is if you watched the short-lived CBS zombie comedy BrainDead. He appeared on the seventh episode, "The Power of Euphemism: How Torture Became a Matter of Debate in American Politics" as an intern:
