Mötley Crüe made quite the entrance to their first “Höllywood Takeöver” club show at the Troubadour on Monday (October 7th).

As captured in a video posted on the band’s YouTube channel, a garbage truck pulled up in front of the club on the Sunset Strip and deposited a heap of trash bags, a mattress, and the members of Mötley Crüe. Tommy Lee had the most fun with the stunt, rolling onto the pavement with the trash bags, while the rest of the band were a bit more cautious as they jumped down from the back of the truck.

The hilarious bit was a callback to Mötley Crüe’s early days as a young band trying to make its name playing venues like the Troubadour. As depicted in the infamous biography The Dirt, their living conditions were far from sanitary during those formative years, hence the garbage truck.

"The Fall Guy" features a soundtrack with popular rock, pop, and love songs, including Taylor Swift, enhancing the action-packed adventure. Mötley Crüe played a “secret” club show at Bowery Ballroom in New York City on Monday night (May 6th). The band had teased the concert on social media under the moniker “1981” (the year they formed), and were met with a packed house for the gig.

The 12-song set at the 600-capacity venue was mostly filled with the Crüe’s best-known tunes like “Looks That Kill,” “Shout at the Devil,” “Dr. Feelgood,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and the closing number, “Kickstart My Heart.” The band also played its new single, “Dogs of War” (their first song featuring new guitarist John 5), as well as a covers medley featuring tunes by The Beatles, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Beastie Boys, and more.

Tickets to the club show sold out in five minutes when they went on sale last week, as fans quickly caught on that it was a Mötley Crüe concert.

Shane Hawkins, the son of late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, sat behind the kit with his dad’s covers band Chevy Metal at a couple of recent California gigs. The young stickman showed off his dynamic chops during shows July 27th and 29th at Gold Pacific Studios in Newport Beach and The Canyon in Agoura Hills, respectively.

Taylor Hawkins formed Chevy Metal in 2013, and would routinely gig with the outfit until his passing in March 2022. Shane, meanwhile, has proven to be a very skilled drummer himself, as seen at Foo Fighters’ September 2022 tribute concerts for Taylor, as well as a guest appearance at the Foos’ recent Boston Calling gig.

Mötley Crüe have unveiled a massive, multi-configuration 40th anniversary reissue campaign for their landmark sophomore album Shout at the Devil.

Fans will have numerous options for acquiring the newly remastered re-release, including a massive Super Deluxe Edition box set, as well as single LP vinyl variants via specific retailers.

For the hardcore Crüe obsessive, the box set is the centerpiece. The original remastered album is included on vinyl, CD, and cassette, along with a plethora of goodies: the 7-inch vinyl singles of “Too Young to Fall in Love” and “Looks That Kill,” plus: pentagram séance boards, a Mötley Crüe metal 7-inch turntable adapter, album art lithographs, tarot cards, a devil candle holder, and more. Los Angeles, July 8 (Ians) American heavy metal legends Motley Crue have wrapped up the European part of their world tour in Glasgow where they participated with the English hard rock legends Def Leppard.

Wrapping up their European tour, Motley Crue took to Instagram and captioned: “Rainy night in Glasgow!! And that’s a wrap for the European leg of The World Tour! A massive Thank You to the thousands of you who came out to these 22 shows all across Europe – it’s been an epic run!”

Thanking Def Leppard, they further added: “Huge shout out to our friends Def Leppard for sharing this journey with us. Looking forward to some US summer shows next before we head over to Japan and Australia this Fall! Crueheads for life. Thank you!”

Mötley Crüe played a “surprise” intimate club show Friday night (June 30th) at The Underworld in London in advance of their concert at Wembley Stadium the next evening.

The band performed to around 450 attendees under the pseudonym Dogs of War — the title of a new Crüe song that has yet to be released — and ran through a setlist stacked with hits, including “Shout at the Devil,” “Too Fast for Love,” “Live Wire,” “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Dr. Feelgood,” and “Kickstart My Heart” (which closed the set).

Mötley Crüe typically perform a medley of covers during their sets, and for The Underworld performance, they fused Gary Glitter’s “Rock and Roll, Part 2” with Brownsville Station’s “Smokin’ in the Boys Room,” The Beatles’ “Helter Skelter,” Sex Pistols’ “Anarchy in the U.K.,” and the Ramones’ “Blitzkrieg Bop.”

They followed the medley up with a full rendition of Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!

Hulu Originals renewed a first look output deal with comedy production company American High.

Founded in 2017 by writer, director and producer Jeremy Garelick and producer Mickey Liddell’s Ld Entertainment, American High aims to tell “modern stories of eclectic characters from diverse backgrounds as they navigate the most formative (and often most hilarious) years of their lives.”

Under the renewed partnership announced Wednesday, the companies will release “Miguel Wants to Fight,” a coming of age comedy about a 17-year-old who asks his three best friends to help him get in his first fight ever before he moves to a new city. The cast includes Tyler Dean Flores, Imani Lewis, Christian Vunipola, Suraj Partha and Raul Castillo.

The agreement with Hulu, first established in 2019, has generated seven original films so far, with an eighth and final film of the original slate on the way.

Horror film “They/Them” (pronounced “They Slash Them”), from producers Jason Blum and Michael Aguilar, finally slashes its way onto screens in the first week of August.

Written, directed and executive produced by John Logan and executive produced by Kevin Bacon, Scott Turner Schofield, Howie Young and Michael Aguilar, the movie features Lgbtqia+ youth attending and a gay conversion camp.

The fear-based film marks gay playwright John Logan’s directorial debut. Logan has previously written Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator,” as well as Tim Butron’s “Sweeney Todd” and Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo.” He also created Showtime’s “Penny Dreadful.” “The/Them” premiered at the 40th Los Angeles Outfest Film Festival in early July.

Exclusive: Hulu has greenlighted The Binge 2: It’s A Wonderful Binge—a raunchy holiday sequel to American High’s 2020 comedy The Binge, which starred Vince Vaughn, Skyler Gisondo, Eduardo Franco and Dexter Darden. The original film’s screenwriter Jordan VanDina has been tapped to direct the new feature from his original script, in his feature debut.

Like the original film, the sequel is set in a near future where all drinking and drugs are banned except for on one glorious day known as The Binge. This year, that day happens to miraculously land on Christmas. The new holiday adventure will feature magical storybooks, catchy songs, stop-motion animation… and drugs! Lots of them! Merry Bingemas!

Jeremy Garelick, Will Phelps, Ryan Bennett and Molle DeBartolo will produce the film with which American High is launching its first franchise, with Andrew Reyes exec producing. Casting details have not yet been disclosed.

Hulu is heading to high school. The streamer has greenlit production on “Sex Appeal,” a teen comedy about the not-so-exact science of love.

Directed by Talia Osteen in her feature directorial debut, “Sex Appeal” will star Mika Abdalla (Netflix’s “Project Mc2”) and Jake Short (Hulu’s “All Night”). Tate Hanyok, whose credits include “Transparent” and “Superstore,” will write and executive produce the film. Production company American High is backing the project.

“Sex Appeal” centers on high-schooler Avery Hansen-White (Abdalla), a perfectionist at least by her own standards. When her long-distance boyfriend hints at wanting to take their relationship to the next level at the upcoming Stem conference (otherwise known as “nerd prom”), she sets out to master her sexuality. As she begins to study the mechanics of love, she realizes that relationships require less science and more heart.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired worldwide distribution rights to “Looks That Kill,” a black comedy starring “13 Reasons Why” actor Brandon Flynn.

Produced by American High, the film stars Flynn, Julia Goldani Telles, Ki Hong Lee (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), and Annie Mumolo.

The project comes from debut writer-director Kellen Moore, and will be available for digital purchase on June 19.
