Enjoy The Ride

This ambitious film tackles some of the deepest feelings so many people grapple with and try to get rid of-envy, jealousy and more. The actors did a fine job as the movies themes unfold and build to a dramatic crescendo. This movie is sure to entertain with a combination of dry humor and unraveling and heightened drama.

A slice of life

With real dialogue and great performances, these four actors bring to life a captivating, thought-provoking, and often uncomfortable dinner. This film is definitely worth watching and then pondering the life choices and decisions made by each character!

Thought-provoking, well-acted

Love it when a seemingly minor dispute unearths a whole convincing history of deep-rooted issues. Clever how this film centers that dispute around something so simple, yet so loaded with social and symbolic importance, as a glass of wine.

Watched with my wife and mother-in-law. We had a lengthy and engrossing discussion afterward. It's that kind of story: Complex, intertwined conflicts. Well-written, energetic dialogue that delves into interesting moral/social territory. Sticks with you after the credits roll. Ripe for debate.

Strong performances from the four actors here, too. Great chemistry with one another. Both fun and uncomfortable to watch their give-and-take, as the tension escalates.

Intense

Excellent acting, particularly the two women. Would make a great play in a small theater.

Sadness of life

This is a well-written glimpse into the life of two couples, which is sadly believable. This film is both simple in its use of four actors and one location, yet complex in how their relationships are revealed and the action unfolds!

Intense and cleverly written

Was an incredible, compelling portrayal of the deceit, dishonesty, deception and secrets withheld in a relationship. I felt like a "fly on the wall" watching an intimate dinner between 2 couples and seeing how they communicate and share with each other. The writer nailed the uncomfortable feeling you get when you're not being honest with yourself and your best friends and partners. It's a fascinating display of how difficult relationships are, but more importantly how people can be without expressing their true essence and how they truly feel. There was humor interspersed during the drama that offered relief, and yet how humor can hide our true selves.

Keeps you spellbound from beginning to end

Right from the onset you are drawn into this carefully crafted story about two couples reuniting for what should have been a very pleasant evening but turned out to be anything but. As layer after layer is peeled back, each characters innermost feelings of jealously, anger and more Is exposed. The writing is brilliant. Interspersed throughout the dialogue are well timed laughs that serve to break up the ever apparent tension. With twists and turns, the viewer could never suspect its ending, which leaves you thinking a long time after the movie has concluded. This movie is well worth watching a second time.

A riveting psychological drama

This film captures the complexity and authenticity of passionate relationships with all the wit and authenticity one could hope for. We are sometimes caught off guard between the initial naivete and the growing anger portraying both the need to hide & retreat and the ensuing drama which can not be contained. The lead actor (also writer and director) initially hides in the shadows before we realize he is more lost than nonsensical. The supporting cast shines. This is a definite second viewing film.

Definitely Half Full

An outstanding tour de force by each of the four actors. Views of friendship, trust, fertility, and marriage are examined through four ever-changing, ever-complex lenses as the four protagonists as they share dinner and wine. The topics subtly shift and grow in intrigue and intensity to its important and compelling climax. A thought provoking production that is not to be missed!

Captivating cinema

I went into this movie not knowing anything about the plot or genre, and I'm so glad I did. While unassuming on the surface, the movie slowly and effectively reveals itself as the tense and effective drama that it is. Top notch acting, writing, and editing. Highly recommended!
