Admire Paul

Not everyone has the courage to revenge. Ppl are horrible in life, which I agree no more in my job field, I think the echo bit of miserable encounter we faced in daily life and this movie put in a funny way is the key reason I love this.

Ridiculous

Sky made the baffling decision to step away from daily premieres on their movie channels to focus on projects like this, sky films! Honestly it's been a collection of utterly horrific films that are an embarrassment, with how media is consumed I look forward to when sky eventually becomes obsolete.

This film is rubbish, it has the same tired uk faces doing same kinda cheap acting and it's just bad. How they cast the lead is ridiculous, he is absolutely dreadful. Terrible actor, everything in this film is just bad.

There's 95 minutes of boredom then it thankfully ends, but so much of the writing is beyond stupid, including "another one bites the dust isn't by Bowie" a fact 99% of people would know.

So bad, it almost made me ring sky to get my movie package refunded. How these films keep getting made, guess it's the post pandemic desperation where they just need content.

Embarrassing

An embarrassingly cheap British rip-off of SPREE which sees a guy losing his talent show audition before going on a rampage of revenge. Made for a pittance during the pandemic and it shows; everything is stilted making this feel like a sketch show at times. Sadly, it's also not in the least bit funny, with the humour over obvious and awkward in that British way. A shame as there are some normally reliable faces (Kris Marshall, Pippa Heyward) here.

'orrible

I love British comedies. This is British but not a comedy. I curled my toes throughout, thinking it would get better. It didn't.

Don't waste your time.

I, imo, loved this x

I absolutely LOVED THIS!! I'm a neurodivergent teen, making it hard for me to pay attention and It can take me weeks to watch a full movie, and this is one of the very few films I've watched in one sitting!!

Me being who I am, usually makes me find the unfunny, well, funny, and there's a lot of movies that are supposed to be serious or are poorly done I find hilarious. I think if you're apart of genZ and have poor humour, you'd enjoy this film like me and my sister (I'd also recommend watching this with someone so you can mock/add commentary to the film.)

Imo, this has to be my FAVOURITE movie that Tom Meeten has been in, I was excited to watch this because I've enjoyed him in many other movies or shows and this didn't disappoint me.

But then again, I am just a neurodivergent teen writing a review just for fun, so listen to the many other reviews that there are.

I also apologise if this is written very poorly, I wrote this at night plus I'm not a good writer at all.

Shambles

With quite a good array of British comedy talent I expected more. This was just horrific in writing and performance. I can't believe the pittance it cost to finance was actually offered up by producers after reading the script.

Really really bad

Productions like this annoy me not just because they are terrible but also because of the money wasted making them. Not funny or entertaining. Just do yourself a favour and avoid. I have it 2 stars for the soundtrack which has some good 80s pop on it.

There should be provision for a 'minus' rating for this drivel.

In so many words.....distasteful, unpleasant, offensive, unfunny, vulgar. In two words? Mercifully forgettable.

In one word?..........Awful. The portrayal of an elderly mother, confused and mouth slathered in cream, was unfunny, the scenes involving the priest and his female 'aide' were offensive. The exchange between the old ladies and the 'flasher' was vulgar, The characters in the shop were all unpleasant, the supposed 'out-takes' at the end were extremely distasteful. No laughs, not even a curve in the lip to suggest the possibility of a smile, just a deep sigh when the credits rolled. I, and a moderately creative other could write a far superior script, act more convincingly, and best of all......produce an actual comedy.

The British Falling Down

This comedy-horror is destined to become a cult hit like Tucker and Dale versus Evil. Our hero is rushing to audition for a talent show (bit like Britain's Got Talent), but various bullies and jobsworths contrive to get in his way. Things go from bad to worse and his dreams are shattered. It was his big chance at fame and fortune! Life is so unfair for the little man... until the little man decides he's had enough and is going to get even, or die trying! Cue all hell breaking loose!

As you might already be able to glean from the above, this movie has important satirical themes concerning class, capitalist society (even the Church is on the make), social inadequacy, social welfare and, well, just about everything else too. It's not just some idle piece of self-indulgent gore. It's a film with both smarts and heart.

And the cast is absolutely stellar, including the cream of British comedic actors (e.g. Johnny Vegas, Kevin Bishop and Katherine Parkinson). June Watson (The Lady in the Van, The Death of Stalin, and more) plays Paul's mum, and she is brilliantly poignant - definitely my fave character... although Mandeep Dhillon as the community police officer (and puts up with no end of grief for not being a 'proper' police officer) is equally fab.

I'm not too proud to confess I properly cried in both the middle (sad tears) and at the end (happy tears). Yet I laughed just as much as I cried. Like life, this film is a rollercoaster of emotions. I like 'light and shade' in my movies, as it generates that bitter-sweetness that is quintessentially British humour or irony (the latter term, ironically, can't even be pronounced correctly by certain American critics, LOL!).

I believe the film also represents a bit of a breakthrough for the lead scriptwriter, one Matthew White, so it's great to have a bravely fresh British 'voice' coming to the screen. If you haven't seen the movie yet, then get your life priorities sorted or die trying! The film scores a deadly 9.9 out of 10 from this enlightened critic!

Easy to watch

Was a little hesitant after reading all the bad reviews but ignore them its a great watch. It's a little comedy mixed with gore, romance and has you feeling sympathy for the reluctant hero. Give it a go and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

A future cult film

The thing that drew me to this quirky film was the name Nick Gillespie, he was DOP on the brilliant series Trigger Point and he wrote & directed this. Admittedly you probably have to have a very twisted sense of humour to enjoy every juicy detail but it's absolutely hilarious from start to end credits. Although it's not a big budget outing, it's beautifully shot and edited throughout and the acting was superb.

Do yourself a favour and take time out to watch this gem, you will not be disappointed.

Paul Dood's Deadly Lunch Break Review

What starts out as a goofy comedy turns into a revenge film. What better way to be on a lunch break then to seek revenge on those who crushed his dreams and left your mom to die. A delightfully funny film with deadly twists. Director Nick Gillespie wowed me with this gem!

Funny, good feel, romance, payback!

This was a mix of everything, and it's the best I've seen in a while.

This is the kind of movie that gives you a few bullies and doesn't try to give you a lesson in morals, but instead sates your wants, Karma!

If you love people getting payback then this is your piece of cake!

Genius comedy, highly original and great cast

Look. There's really no point arguing about whether this is brilliant or awful. It's brilliant. But then I love Green Wing, Catterick, Brass Eye, Flight of the Conchords etc. This is like those. Bit like League of Gentlemen in parts too. If you hate those and you prefer more conventional comedy and you're not into off the wall, slightly surreal grotesque humour, you just won't like this. That said, you're wrong and I'm right. Very funny and manages to be humane and touching at the same time. More like this please. Oh and stay for the outtakes in the end credits, makes you wish you'd been on set with them all.
