The Twilight Zone is one of the most brilliant and trippy series ever made. Created by Rod Serling, the CBS series is a virtual and psychologically thrilling trip into the unknown. The Twilight Zone premiered over six decades ago, and it still holds up very well as far as the stories and the visual experience go. Maybe that’s why the Jordan Peele reboot failed: it couldn’t capture the same magic as the Serling series did. So, if you loved the trippy stories, inventive settings, and compelling characters in The Twilight Zone, here are some similar shows you should check out next.

In the late 2000s and early 2000s, there was arguably nothing in pop culture that had a stronger grip on viewers than the Twilight saga. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner took the world by storm, and their characters, Bella, Edward, and Jacob spawned watercooler conversations where arguments ensued over which "team" was the best. Stewart and Pattison found a great deal of post-Twilight fame, while Lautner mostly vanished from the spotlight, only recently reemerging for a handful of roles – including his newest project, which might be his best yet: a meta-comedy called Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter.
After appearing in ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift's 2023 music video for "I Can See You," the forgotten heartthrob is reemerging for his most meta project yet. Rosa Salazar (Brand New Cherry Flavor) has been cast as the female lead opposite Matthew Gray Gubler in Einstein, CBS’ crime procedural pilot from the Monk team of creator/executive producer Andy Breckman and director/executive producer Randy Zisk.
In Einstein, a drama with comedic undertones based on the German series of the same name, brilliant but directionless, the great grandson of Albert Einstein (Gubler) spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor until his bad-boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective (Salazar) solve her most puzzling cases.
Salazar’s Maddie Paris is a Detective Inspector for the New Jersey State Police, who went into law enforcement after the death of her husband. Sharp and disciplined, Maddie demands a lot from her colleagues and even more from herself and feels conflicted about working with Professor Lew Einstein (Gubler).

John Carpenter’s Halloween has influenced everything from other slasher flicks to even music videos. With her new visual “Undone,” indie-pop artist Young Summer rips images from the iconic 1978 film for a tension-splitting story that guarantees to creep under the skin.
Young Summer (real name Bobbie Allen) stars in the video as a woman unaware of her surroundings. While out walking her adorable pooch Scrappy, a stalker (Miloš Šarenac) wearing all black lurks from the corners of each frame.
Everything about the brand new “Undone” music video, on which she worked with frequent collaborator and cinematographer Seth Dunlap, feels very 1970s. From long lens shots to a vibrant but muted color grading, Allen (director/editor) masterfully laces suspense by using various classic film techniques and equipment – namely the telephoto Canon Fd 50-300mm T/4.9 zoom Lens.
“I knew using that long zoom for the spy shots would make the stalking...

It was brought to the screen by writing duo Kc Coughlin and Ryan Grassby and directed by Alexandre Aja, known for his past horror work including Crawl and The Hills Have Eyes. The sons in question, Nolan and Samuel, are played by Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins, respectively. Ahead of a tour commemorating the 30th anniversary of Weezer (b.k.a. the “Blue Album”), the group is planning a gargantuan reissue of the album. The reissue contains the album remastered as well as 36 previously unreleased demos, live recordings, and curiosities (including the fabled “Kitchen Tape” demos). It arrives in a variety of formats on Nov. 1.
The band is teasing the release with what it calls the “third practice” recording of “Undone — The Sweater Song.” The recording sounds fittingly frayed as they rap and sing the song’s lyrics over its eerie guitar line.

It's been 10 years since a comedy about a former sitcom actor and anthropomorphic horse first graced our screens, with "BoJack Horseman" introducing Netflix as a serious producer of animation. Now, creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg and much of the "BoJack" team are coming for with a new Netflix animated series titled "Long Story Short."
According to Netflix, the show is about "a family over time," including their inside jokes and old wounds, as well as the history they share with one another (as we all do with our own families). Although "BoJack Horseman" is remembered for being a biting satire about Hollywood (or Hollywoo) with plenty of hilarious takes on celebrities (like its jokes about Andrew Garfield and lasagna), it was also a fantastic drama about generational trauma and how messed up families can be.
What makes this news kind of surprising is the fact that Bob-Waksberg has been openly critical of...

As BoJack Horseman's childhood hero Secretariat once said, "All that exists is what's ahead." And coinciding with Netflix's anthropomorphic existential adult animated series turning 10 just yesterday, we now know exactly what's ahead for the team who brought us BoJack Horseman. As revealed by the streamer itself, BoJack creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg is reteaming with Michael Eisner's Tornante Company and animation outfit ShadowMachine to bring a new adult animated offering to Netflix. No, it's not an actual series of BoJack's show-within-a-show Horsin' Around (we still live in hope!), but rather Long Story Short, a family saga that sounds ripe to be both as surreal and profound as its equine predecessor.
Bob-Waksberg is set to serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on the show, his third post-BoJack project having previously co-created timey-wimey Prime Video animation Undone and written on animated sitcom Tuca & Bertie. The characteristically playful and provocative logline...

The official synopsis for the show reads, “‘Long Story Short’ is an animated comedy about a family, over time. It’s about the shared history, the inside jokes, the old wounds. If you’ve ever had a mother, father, sibling, partner, or child, this is the show for you and by the way would it kill you to call them?”
Bob-Waksberg will write, showrun, and executive produce alongside Noel Bright and Stephen A. Cohen from Tornante. They’re joined by supervising producer Lisa Hanawalt, who...

Chelsea Wolfe has announced the Undone EP, a collection of remixes, out August 30th via Loma Vista Recordings.
A remix of “Tunnel Lights” by ††† (Crosses) — the duo of Deftones singer Chino Moreno and producer/multi-instrumentalist Shaun Lopez — can be heard now. Lopez reimagines the track with a trip-hop treatment featuring elements of trance techno and electro-industrial, while Moreno adds vocal accompaniment to Wolfe’s lead singing, which is crushed-out with distortion on this version.

The Undone EP includes six remixes of tracks from Wolfe’s latest album, She Reaches Out to She Reaches Out to She, with scene mates Full of Hell, Justin K. Broadrick (Godflesh), Boy Harsher, Forest Swords, and Ash Koosha each reworking a song from the LP.
“She Reaches Out felt like the perfect record to have official remixes for since itʼs themed so heavily with transformation,” commented Wolfe in a press release.

It has been a high-profile 12 months for Mediawan Kids & Family thanks to subsidiary Method Animation’s involvement in the Ladybug & Cat Noir franchise, which has been enjoying box office success worldwide with a first feature film adaptation.
The IP, which was first developed as a series in 2015, is now under the umbrella of recently launched entity Miraculous Corp, a joint venture between co-creator Jeremy Zag’s company Zag and Mediawan Kids & Family parent group Mediawan.
This means that Method Animation is no longer involved in the franchise but Mediawan Kids & Family President Julien Borde says his division is busy developing and producing a raft of animated content, he believes has similar franchise potential.
“It’s one of the most successful independent franchises in the world and a fantastic success story,” he comments on Ladybug & Cat Noir.

The Will Trent co-showrunners were asked if major book character Sara Linton will appear in season 3. They are currently unsure if Linton should join the cast, because she is Will's romantic endgame. There is a way for Linton to appear on the show without interrupting the flow of the ongoing narrative.
The potential future appearance of a major Will Trent has been discussed by the show's showrunners. Will Trent, ABC's crime procedural starring Ramn Rodrguez in the title role, is based on the book series of the same name by Karin Slaughter. The ensemble cast also includes Erika Christensen, Iantha Richardson, Jake McLaughlin, and Sonja Sohn. Although season 2 of the show just ended on May 21, Will Trent season 3 is already on the way, as it was officially renewed back in April.

Best-selling author Karin Slaughter has written many crime thrillers, but Will Trent and Sara Linton are the two main protagonists from her Will Trent book series.
ABC has done a splendid job adapting the books into the television series.
They've fleshed out the character arcs, strengthened relationships, and made one-note characters like Michael Ormewood and Angie Polaski more likable and relatable.
However, diehard book fans complain about the lack of Sara Linton, who ended up being Will's love interest.
How would Sara work with the current canvas with a cast that's been tight since the beginning and the fact that Will and Angie just reunited again?
Who is Sara Linton?
Sara Linton first appeared in Slaughter's Grant County series, beginning with the 2001 book, "Blindsighted."
She worked as a coroner and pediatrician and helped solve gruesome crimes with her ex-husband Jeffrey and his partner Lena.

Marvel's cosmic hierarchy is evolving rapidly, introducing powerful new entities and gods and reshaping the universe's structure. The Avengers are ill-prepared for the looming cosmic conflict, as new threats emerge beyond their current capabilities. The Marvel Universe is heading towards Infinity Gauntlet-scale chaos, with cosmic entities clashing for control of reality.
The cosmology of Marvel Comics can be hard to grasp, even for the heroes that defend it - however, a new level of complexity means the Avengers aren't ready for the next cosmic-scale disaster coming their way. From well-known forces of nature like Galactus, to more mysterious powers like the Stranger, the Marvel multiverse is ever-expanding. However, the last couple of years have seen something of an arms race in Marvel's cosmos, and the Avengers are no longer strong enough to keep order. “Beef” creator and executive producer Lee Sung Jin thanked his therapist — and some jerk in a white SUV — upon receiving the Visionary Award in Television at the 2023 IndieWire Honors. It makes sense if you’ve seen his show: a 10-episode black comedy tribute to senseless feuds starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong that took Netflix by storm this spring.
“‘Beef’ was loosely based on a road rage incident that I got into,” the showrunner said during his acceptance speech, delivered on December 6 at NeueHouse Hollywood. “This dude in a white SUV honked and yelled at me. And for some reason, on this day, I was like, ‘Eh, I’m gonna follow you.'”
“It was very anticlimactic and very stupid on my part, but it did lead to this award,” he joked. “So I would be remiss to not thank this man; I hope he honks and yells, inspiring others for years to come.

ABC's Will Trent has been a hit since the series began in January.
We love book-to-screen adaptations, and Will Trent Season 1 excelled at building character development, intriguing cases, and strong relationships.
The problem was that only a select few cases followed cases from the books, and the diehard fans knew it.
So what becomes more important -- staying true to the characters or the cases?
In reality, it's probably a combination of both, so we'll analyze what book aspects the series has incorporated well and what we hope they'll include in future seasons.
Book Aspects Incorporated in Will Trent Season 1
Will Trent has balanced incorporating key book aspects and layering characters beautifully. They've made Angie and Amanda more likable by casting excellent actresses like Erika Christensen and Sonja Sohn and softening their personalities.
The Will Trent Series premiere kicked off with the infamous kidnapping of Paul and Abigail Campano's daughter.

Despite his contentious split from his longtime band Mötley Crüe, guitarist Mick Mars has nothing but kind words to say about the man who replaced him.
In a new interview with Guitar World, Mars went as far as to say that the Crüe made a “very wise choice” in selecting longtime Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 for the job. The latter has been a seamless fit in the group after being announced as Mars’ replacement shortly after Mars declared he was retiring from touring with the band.
“Well, I’ve never disliked John, I’ve always liked him and still do,” said Mars. “He’s been a really good friend of mine for a long time. So I think they’ve made a very, very wise choice with John.”
Mars didn’t delve into his drama with Mötley Crüe, which, has included some nasty exchanges between the band’s camp and the guitarist.

Mick Mars, the founding and former guitarist of Mötley Crüe, has announced his debut solo album, The Other Side of Mars, arriving February 23rd. The video for “Loyal to the Lie,” the lead single from the LP, can be streamed now.
“When it comes to my playing, there’s the Mötley side and the Mars side,” the guitarist said of his upcoming album, and “Loyal to the Lie” showcases the latter.
Crüe fans might be taken aback by the song’s more alt-metal/industrial slant, with singer Jacob Bunton providing impassioned vocals over Mars’ axework — which sounds as sharp and technically proficient as ever. While the Mötley Crüe camp raised questions about Mars’ physical ability to play amid the nasty exchanges that followed Mars’ retirement from touring with the band, this song testifies to the fact that he’s still got it.

Since Invincible is an animated superhero series, viewers might wonder if the show would be suitable for a young audience. While adult animation has existed since the days of Ralph Bakshi, the format has become incredibly popular in the last few decades. Shows like South Park, Family Guy, and Rick and Morty have proven that cartoons aimed at adults can be big business, while critically acclaimed hits like Bojack Horseman, The Venture Bros, and Undone showed that adult animation isn’t always limited to lighthearted comedy shows. However, this boom has come at a cost for confused consumers who aren’t aware of adult animation’s recent heyday.

Captain Marvel is set to star in a new series from writer Alyssa Wong, and while concrete details on the upcoming series remain under wraps, Wong revealed in a recent interview the array of exciting new characters she will be introducing in the title. This fall, Carol Danvers will face off against new villains, and she'll do so accompanied by a new sidekick, one deliberately designed as Ms. Marvel's opposite.
In an interview with Looper, Alyssa Wong provided details about Yuna Yang, Carol Danvers' latest ally. Their dynamic will be far from the traditional hero-sidekick relationship, however; Wong teased "a classic "handcuffed to your opposite and forced to work together" story" for the pair.
A "recreational cat burglar who steals magical items," Yang will find herself mixed up in Captain Marvel's battle with new villains the Omen and the Undone.

The scope of the Marvel Universe has been expanding lately, with the addition of new cosmic-level entities to the company's already-sprawling fictional reality. The new Captain Marvel series from writer Alyssa Wong will join this trend, pitting Carol Danvers against a mysterious, and heretofore unknown, cosmic threat known as "the Undone."
In a recent interview with Looper, writer Alyssa Wong gave some tantalizing details about what to expect from her upcoming Captain Marvel run, in what she calls her "most cosmic-scale Marvel book."
That scale will come in the form of "the Undone," a villain that Wong promises will bring shades of horror to the series.
The Undone Is A Galactus-Level Threat To The Marvel Universe
While Galactus remains the most recognizable god-like being in Marvel lore, the company's tapestry of ongoing multiversal stories has always featured cosmic-powered characters, such as the Watchers and the Beyonder. More recently, Marvel's pantheon...

Sad news hit this morning that Tony Bennett has died following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. The legendary crooner had one of the longest careers in the history of popular music. His debut LP, Because of You, landed in 1952, and he worked steadily in the studio and on the road until 2021.

A gigantic mega tech corporation like Amazon doesn’t generally have a ton of bad days, but in the streaming space, the company can’t seem to catch a break. The streamer clearly wants to be taken seriously as a TV giant, pouring money into expensive legacy IP shows and original properties alike. But those efforts to buy Prime’s way into critical prestige and popularity don’t always pay off.
Prime Video’s biggest shows, such as “The Rings of Power” and “Citadel,” have been greeted with audience apathy, critical failure, or both. Reports from behind the scenes at Amazon Studios have alleged creative frustration between artists and studio executives, with complaints of wishy washy leadership that doesn’t let series thrive.

The central love story in Will Trent season 1 was between Will Trent and Angie Polaski, but when season 2 rolls around, it's time for the writers to give Will a new love interest. Will and Angie have known each other since they were kids at the foster home. They forged a special bond that can be rare to find, but that doesn't mean they should be in a romantic relationship.
The ABC show is based on a book series by Karin Slaughter, and both Will and Angie have significant roles in the novels, which are translated on the screen. Although the television series changes many plots and character traits from the books, Will and Angie's unhealthy dynamic is mostly the same. So just like in the books, Will Trent needs to put an end to Will and Angie's on-and-off relationship, and one character's introduction could help speed that process along in...
