WOW what a psychological thriller this is! The roommate from Hell is an understatement. I really enjoyed how the filmmakers show the underlying issues of mental health while incorporating twists into the story that the viewers don't see coming. The acting is great, the story is good, the camera work works and the production value is high for what you would expect from an indie film. If you're looking for something that draws you in and keeps your attention Cohabitation is the movie for you. I give it two thumbs up and recommend this movie.

While former paramedic Emily tries to live a low-key life to cope with her PTSD, her new roommate has other plans--and a long-held vendetta against medical personnel.

There are moments toward the end when clues pile up that bring you to the edge of your seat. The lead, Tiffany Streng, more than just a good actress., opened her soul and let us see her, as did Carly D. Anderson, playing Heather. They made an impact that lasts long after viewing the film.

This film was put together very well. It most certainly didn't end the way that I predicted in the beginning. The acting was good. This film touched on a few things that today's society needed light shed on like ptsd. This film has twists and turns. You won't be disappointed.

A low budget indie with great tone and a coherent since of its own rhythm. The twists and situations were entertaining with a surprising level of depth and sensitivity in its handling of mental health themes.

This little indie gem is a psychological thriller where our lead must battle not just her own demons but an external one in the shape of a roommate with a twisted agenda. The flashbacks help us understand just how scarred Emily is, but in the same time we understand that beneath the fragility lays a strong person. On the other hand, we have Sarah, the roommate who is quite a mystery. If you enjoyed films like Single White Female and The hand that rocks the cradle, you will love this one.

Really glad I took a chance on this. It's a well-made, well-acted thriller that manages plenty of scares and also dives into some real emotional issue with PTSD. It's got thrills AND depth. Bravo to the filmmakers.

This movie is worth checking out for suspense and good psychological thriller. I liked the lead actress very much. I also found the window into the paramedic's life interesting.

Fun to watch, well made! I recommend highly! It was a nice escape to get involved with the interesting story and rich characters. It's nice to see a thriller that isn't spoiled by forced Hollywood conventions and relies more on the story. Great job.

First off, just to be clear this is an indie film, so my rating will reflect that. So if you do not enjoy low budget filmmaking then this won't be for you. But... That being said, if you do enjoy indie films I can highly recommend Cohabitation to you.

Stephanie Rose Quinnell, who plays Sarah Rickerson, does an excellent job at playing someone who has been broken mentally. She does a beautiful job of bouncing back and forth between your friendly neighborhood roommate and a vendetta driven "Scum" of a psycho! Emily Jacobsen, played by Tiffany Streng, takes a minute to warm up on screen. But once you get into the story you start to relate to her struggles and feel for her.

The cinematography was well done. You can tell the DP, Emry Brisky, took the time to make it look as cinematic as they could. From lighting cues to emphasize panic attacks, to colored lighting at night that really brought life to the scenes. All in all if you enjoy indie thrillers then I say give Cohabitation a try!

Please don't waste your time, unless you literally have nothing else to watch. Bad acting and no surprises. We watched the entire movie to figure out our true IMDb ranking. The main character was the best actor and by the end of the movie she made us feel like we could relate. Regardless, I wish more people had already commented on this movie before we invested an evening toward it. The more of us that take a couple minutes just to provide some feedback, will make this platform much better for everybody else. Forget about the other websites out thete, let's stick with IMDB So please make your voice heard and leave feedback.

Enter Emily Jacobson. She's a former paramedic haunted by lurid dreams, and riddled with guilt after failing to prevent a patient fatality out on the street. Now she works at the local florist. Her rent's being raised and she needs a roommate to cover her bills. After a cavalcade of odd and disturbing potential roommates, she finally meets someone relatable: Sarah Rickerson. So the emotionally wounded former paramedic takes on Sarah, a seemingly mentally sound border for a roommate situation. Things take a turn when Sarah is objectified and violated by their sleazy landlord. For him things take a very sharp turn. This is the story of strong women. The two leads are drawn to each other unconsciously, each unwittingly providing the other with one side of a coactive mutualism; however it proves to be short-lived. As one is poisoned by vengeance, the other in search of redemption.

I really enjoyed watching this one. The motives and the way they embellish the characters of all party's involved keeps you second guessing yourself a few times. Granted, some things were obvious but, still added to the twists within the plot/storyline.

Well directed and produced for a low budget film. Good acting, score and musics. Love the lead!

The budget picture and effects took me out of the immersion.

Some times the quality of the acting is also an issue.

The script is ok, the average rating on here does not make any sense.

The quality goes up from about 1 hour in bit is a long way to get there.

The side story and the other characters are not developed.

The main actress is extremely plain which I think makes the other reviewers really buty in to it.

The likelihood of the main characters being connected in such a way as the plot suggest is not very likely.

Calling this a thriller is a massive stretch.

Would only watch if there was no alternative.

Really dug this flick, a great entry into the "roommates from hell" subgenre - Tiffany Streng stars as Emily, a parademic suffering from PTSD, who is searching for a new roommate. Her anxieties are shown in subtle ways, always bubbling up below the surface, mostly showcased in her interaction with others - weird landlords and prospective roommates. The flashback scenes to a triggering car crash with the paramedics were well done and intriguing. Streng anchors the entire film, able to peel back the layers, like in her sessions with her therapist, where she still hasn't let go of her past trauma. I really enjoyed the character turns for the roommate Sarah, played by Stephanie Rose Quinnell. The dynamic between Emily, Sarah, and Emily's police-detective sister-in-law Heather (Carly D. Anderson) had a great tension to it. Satisfying ending that ties everything together, you'll definitely want to let this one in.

We really enjoyed this film! I say we because my wife watched it with me. A big compliment for this film is that my wife never got on her phone, lol. We enjoyed the story, the acting and how the film moved along at a nice pace. Bravo folks, you all did well!

I very much enjoyed this film! It really takes a look at someone grieving a loss and trying to get past it. Though, she just can't seem to make ends meet. I love the twist in the story of the main character looking for roommates to help her afford the rent and it leads her down a rabbit hole of dark events. Well done!

Entertaining character-driven story with thriller undertones about a paramedic who attempts to skirt PTSD by checking out of life but her new roommate with a questionable past has other plans. Interesting vendetta twist. Up and coming filmmaker/writer Lauren Barker keeps things moving and lively in this well-produced microbudget drama.

I live a good revenge thriller. They seem to go in cycles for some reason. If Cohabitation is any clue, they're trending back up! Well plotted, well directed and well acted, this thriller builds its tension in a classic style but with modern elements. Love the detective perspective to go with the lead character's journey. Really enjoyed this one!

What I enjoyed most about watching this film is how engaging it was. Often times with independent films the filmmakers don't spend any time on atmosphere and feeling, both in the cinematography and in the world. The filmmakers did an excellent job of making the film feel true to life in it's locations and assortment of characters. While the story wasn't necessarily anything new, the way it unfolded was entertaining. The cinematography stands out with this film as it helped to emphasize and give depth to the story. Excellent use of music and with a short running time, I recommend giving this title a watch.

This was a terrific thriller! Exciting, with a great story and many excellent plot twists. It reminded me a little of Single White Female from back in the day. Yes, it's a low budget indie. So don't expect exploding cars. But on the plus side, it's so much more naturalistic and believable than many commercial thrillers. I'll take the trade off. This movie was well worth the rental.

And the directing was solid as well. Writer/Director Lauren Barker deserves praise for this. I thought the cast did a really good job, especially the leads, they were very believable and natural. As the movie progressed the suspense really increased, and there was a very effective jump scare, which really got me. There were also some really great emotional moments too. The soundtrack was excellent. I highly recommend this film!

The movie is suspenseful and there is plenty to like here. Solid production values and capable direction by writer/director Lauren Barker. The movie explores the dark side of a perfect stranger with sinister intentions. Be careful who you trust! Definitely worth watching.

Impressive indie movie with great acting. Very well directed. It shows the value of independent film-making with an original story far from formulaic Hollywood movies. Highly recommended.

Cohabitation is a psychological thriller and a different take on the psycho roommate. This indie is well written, well edited and well acted. Full of suspense and unpredictable moments this film is definitely worth a watch.

Emily, played by Tiffany Streng, is a paramedic dealing with PTSD and working hard to get her life together. She changes jobs, takes a pay cut and then needs to find a roommate. After interviewing several people she decides to invite Sarah to move in who seems to be normal but we soon find out is far from it.

Streng's authentic performance helps the viewer get lost in the story and kept me on the edge of my seat. The filmmakers did a wonderful job in telling this story; the dialogue, shots, acting and editing flowed so well, so much so that you forget it is a low budget indie.
