I understand it's a foreign movie, hence the dubbed voices. I wish it would have followed a better progression of the lives from past to future; it would have been easier to follow. There are some really nice scenes in this movie and there are some not so great.
The only names I recognized were Marcia Cross, Massimo Dobrovic, and Brendan Fraser.
Brendan Fraser is an exceptional actor. He has range. I've seen just about everything he has acted in. I'm hoping he read something in this script that moved him to take the parts he did. Because in all honesty I think this movie is below his skills as an actor.
I've seen mention from another reviewer that the "cover" for the movie featured Brendan Fraser as a "key actor" in the movie. I'm thinking this was probably marketed for USA release. Most likely the other actors were more prominent for the Czech Republic release.
It's not a "bad" movie. But it could be better.

Nice. There's planes. Brendan Fraiser. Some good CGI. Brendan put his all into his roles. Pretty sure he was a God or something, he definitely did his research. And they have nice costume designs, really shiny stuff. They make an actress ride a horse next to a plane which was pretty epic. Spielberg needs to see what Saving Private Ryan inspired. Cloud Atlas wishes it could be this realistic. I'm pretty sure this is Brendan's comeback. Welcome back Brendan!
It's like watching into toilet shell and expecting drama. I hardly ever saw such a bad direction and cinematography. The plot (really?) is like an effort to beat the stupidity of Ad Woods golden age and acting is like puppet theater when the puppet masters get drunk before the performance. Don't waste your time, this is a pulp fiction in its dark side meaning. Pure garbage.
A lot of the characters were dubbed. The whole idea is sort of like a Cloud Atlas wanna-be, but with an opposite moral. The title of the film is quite misleading I would say, and so is the cover. They put the most famous actors on the front of the cover, but they are merely the side characters. I kind of disagree with the message the film is trying to convey, and the whole narrative and progression are done in a rather convoluted manner, but I found most of it fascinating. The score is pompous and from the visual sense, everything looks awful and quite good simultaneously. The film clearly had a low budget and it feels like most of it was filmed in front of a green screen, and it all looks so fake and cheap, but a lot of it looks surprisingly good, especially in comparison to other sci-fi films with low budget.
I watched "The Secret of Karma" after enjoying "Alpha Code" by Milan Friedrich. "Alpha Code" had a coherent plot; "The Secret of Karma" did not. The story jumped constantly between the past, present, and future of the reincarnated souls whose lives are intertwined. However, I liked the look of the far future, and appreciated Brendan Frasier's brief appearances.
