Bambi: The Reckoning horror film secures distribution in multiple territories
Image
A couple days ago, we shared the news that writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield has secured distribution in multiple territories for a sequel to his horror twist on a beloved children’s story, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. But that’s not the only project Frake-Waterfield has in the works. He’s planning to build a cinematic universe out of horror movies based on public domain family friendly stories – including Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare and Bambi: The Reckoning. Now The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Bambi: The Reckoning has also secured distribution in multiple territories.

Inspired by Felix Salten’s 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods, this movie is coming to us from ITN Studios and Jagged Edge Productions. Scott Jeffrey will be directing, and is also producing with Frake-Waterfield for Jagged Edge Productions. Stuart Alson and Nicole Holland serve as executive producers for ITN Studios.

Plot details are being kept under wraps,...

Netflix Acquired The Rights to The True Life Creepy Story of The Watcher
In 2015 a creepy-ass stalker who called himself The Watcher, terrorized a family forcing them to move out of their dream home. Now, Hollywood is looking to cash in on this true life horror story and at the same time help the family that was affected.

There were six major studios locked in a bidding war for the feature film rights to this story and Netflix ended up winning. This is apparently one of the biggest material deals that has been made in Hollywood this year.

According to Deadline, “Netflix will pay seven figures for a rights package that includes an article by Reeves Wiedeman published on New York Magazine’s website The Cut, and the rights of the beleaguered homeowners who’ve lived this nightmare for four years.”

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Paranormal Activity 3 and 4) are attached to direct. You can read all about the true story...

Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas Profile Taken Down By New York Magazine’s The Cut After Backlash And Apology
Priyanka Chopra Jonas
A profile of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas blasted by readers who called it xenophobic, racist and sophomoric has been taken down by the website The Cut, which is owned by New York magazine.

“Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize,” the outlet said in an editor’s note that replaced the original story under the same URL.

Chopra, a Bollywood star whose fame extended to the West in recent years when she was cast as the lead in ABC drama Quantico, married Jonas last weekend in a lavish ceremony in India. The nuptials got waves of attention from the celebrity media, which chronicled details such as the couple’s custom Ralph Lauren-designed outfits and Chopra’s 75-foot veil.

Written by Mariah Smith, a young African-American writer, comedian and producer, the Cut article zeroed in on the...

Ex-cbs chief Les Moonves facing fresh sexual assault allegation
Media exec issues statement denying claim.

A fresh allegation of sexual assault against former CBS Corporation chairman, president and CEO Les Moonves has surfaced in a New York Times article published on Wednesday (November 28)

The article says that in an interview, actress Bobbie Phillips described a 1995 meeting with Moonves, then president of Warner Bros Television, in which Moonves exposed himself and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

In a statement to the Times, Moonves said: “I strongly believe that the sexual encounter with Ms Phillips more than 20 years ago was consensual.”

The extensive piece also reports on subsequent...
