Manny Perez and Ozz Gomez in La soga 2 (2021)

La soga 2

3/10

Manny, what happened here?

La Soga is a good film, with a fine cast and good locations. Though it was kind of a low budget project, it has become somewhat of a classic. This sequel hasn't even attracted a viewer willing to write a review, since mine is the first review since the film was released 4 years ago.

There are only two recognizable names in the cast: Manny Perez and Juan Fernandez. The other three characters who have any screen time are all unknowns. The villain is laughable, played by Chris McGarran (whoever that is) and is a goofy, idiotic kind of "villain".

It's hard to tell what the story is supposed to be since the way it was edited leaves it badly scrambled and the overall theme is missing. The sequel didn't have enough of a budget to accomplish what the original film did. That's unfortunate since the first film is good.

Manny Perez deserves a better shot at making a sequel to "La Soga" which has become a classic in its genre. I'm sorry that he didn't get a better chance with this one.
