I thought it was funny. I like it. I do hope they don't pull the plug too soon.
I wasn't going to watch this after reading the reviews. I am glad I gave it a chance. I watched the first episode not expecting much. The show has a lot of funny moments and some good casting. It grew on me during the first four episodes.
I rate it a 7 for now with the potential to hit 8 or higher as the characters develop.
My advice is watch it for yourself and make your own decision on whether this style of comedy is for you. I like the writing style and the parents, especially the mother, are hilarious. I had some random laugh out loud moments. I plan to keep watching.

What can I say, another miss with a ridiculous attempt to be relevant and hip. The supporting characters, all seem to be in another show. With the work crew there is no chemistry and the lead actress is too manic all the time.
No thanks.
I think the key to sitcoms is giving yourself time to "know" the characters. Perhaps the subject of episode one wasn't the perfect way to start the series, but I think it has climbed in hilarity with each episode. There are so many witty one liners and funny segments in each episode. Emmet's mom is just a supporting role but she rarely utters a line that doesn't leave me laughing out loud. Seriously, watch this show, give it time, and you will love it!
