The third season of The Wheel of Time premieres next week, and it premieres hard. At least for a while, Prime Video made the first 11 minutes available to watch online, and they are lit. There is battle in the White Tower of the Aes Sedai! And that's just the first scene.
“Just the opener, almost the cold open of episode one is an epic bloodthirsty, vicious battle where powerful women are kind of slaying each other,” star Rosamund Pike told news.com.au. “I mean, it’s kind of like a season finale, and we haven’t even got 15 minutes into the show. That was a surprise … and we’ve got layers upon layers of political intrigue and villains who … they have enemies. So I think we’re starting to know the lay of the land. We can really get into all the adversarial nitty-gritty of this world.”

When it comes to the adaptation of written works for on-screen consumption, there is always the challenge of what parts of the story need to be kept and those which can safely be cut. The Wheel of Time has turned again, and a decision has been made about what direction the Pattern has woven for Season 3. The upcoming season, which premieres on March 13 on Prime Video with its first three episodes, will adapt the events in The Shadow Rising, which covers Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski), the Dragon Reborn, as he heads into the Aiel Waste. This represents a significant departure from Robert Jordan’s bestselling series, and Rosamund Pike, who plays Moraine Sedai and serves as an executive producer, has addressed this change in the books' chronology.

Comic books have been a major part of popular culture for the better part of a century. In fact, Superman and Batman have been around so long that they are slated to enter the Public Domain in 2034 and 2035, respectively. With most iconic comic heroes having decades of history behind them, there have plenty of iconic moments and storylines from previous decades.
Here are some of our favourite comic storylines from the '70s through to the '90s.
Age of Apocalypse (1995-1996) is peak '90s storytelling
The Dark Age of Comic Books is usually marked as beginning at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s — at roughly the same time the launch of the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game introduced us to the word "grimdark", giving a sense of the general direction of pop culture as a whole. The following contains spoilers for various manga's endings. Proceed with caution.
Last January, Yoshifumi Totsuka's mangaUndead Unluck released its final chapter after being published by Shōnen Jump for five years. Avoiding manga spoilers, "Chapter 239: Deadluck" will satisfy fans, even if they know they'll miss Fuuko Izumo and Andy. To most people, this may not seem like a big deal, since every manga eventually ends. Undead Unluck's anime just started, meaning fans still have a lot of time to spend with their favorite unlucky and undying heroes.
However, Undead Unluck's recent conclusion is a lot more significant than even the most dedicated manga reader may realize. Undead Unluck concluded just a week after another Shōnen Jump title — Hitsuji Gondaira's Mission: Yozakura Family — ended after six years of publication. These titles ended so quickly after two of Shōnen Jump's biggest hits finished their stories in the same year. Undead Unluck...

Prime Video has released the first footage from the upcoming third season of The Wheel of Time via an exciting teaser trailer, while also announcing that the fantasy adventure series is set to return to our screens on March 13, 2025.
In the promo, we see Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) attempt to come to terms with the prophecy that will claim either her life or that of Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), who may hold the future of humanity in his hands as the Dragon Reborn.
Season 3 will be primarily based on the fourth book in Robert Jordan's series, The Shadow Rising, which finds Rand and his companions travelling to the Aiel Waste in an attempt to win over its people to their cause.
“The first 15 minutes of Season 3 is one of the most bonkers set pieces I’ve ever seen on television,” said executive producer Rafe Judkins in a recent interview.

Knowing only one can live is a tough burden to bear. That's the predicament Rosamund Pike's Moiraine Damodred faces in the trailer for The Wheel of Time Season 3 unveiled today at Ccxp in São Paulo, Brazil. When things last left off at the end of Season 2, Rand al'Thor (Josha Stradowski) was officially proclaimed as the Dragon Reborn, in part thanks to Moiraine's display of power; the dragon she makes out of fire in the final episode of Season 2, "What Was Meant To Be," fulfills the prophecy. As we enter Season 3, the trailer, narrated by Moiraine, explains that, in every future, the Aes Sedai sees only herself or Rand making it out of things alive. The poster for Season 3, also unveiled earlier this week, depicts Rand carrying a weakened Moiraine across the Aiel Waste, which we also see close-up shots of in the trailer.

Dragon Ball Z makes up the second half of the greatest shonen battle manga of all time, but its not without its share of criticism. Between Akira Toriyamas writing style leading to questionable inconsistencies at times, and the animes filler creating problems that were never in the original manga, Dbz is ripe with controversy among the fandom. Even in the original manga, though, there are some scenes that continue to cause a stir whenever theyre mentioned in conversation.
Dbz has always been a bit graphic in nature, as it has brutal moments that are even shocking for a shonen battle series - and even more so in the manga. Even 40 years after the original manga was serialized, some Dbz moments continue to be the subject of debate among fans and critics. From its inception, the Call of Duty franchise has evolved quite a bit; Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 continues this growth with Operators, which are just one of the many features that make the CoD franchise so iconic. On launch, there are 21 Operators available in BO6, and collecting them all will take a bit of work and even some money. The roster includes many characters, mostly from CoD's various single-player campaigns.
Operators are player skins that allow you, at least cosmetically, to become the character you choose, just like operators in Modern Warfare 3. The operators in BO6 are split between two factions, Rogue Black Ops and Crimson One, but there's no difference between them. Some will be available immediately, while others need to be unlocked.

With Gawyn's existence in the world of The Wheel of Time's show, a key arc being removed from Egwene's story is looking increasingly likely. One of several characters yet to appear in Prime Video's adaptation of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books, Gawyn Trakand is the brother of Elayne and someone who becomes heavily involved in Egwene al'Vere's life. The two cross paths for the first time in The Great Hunt, the second book in the series.

The anime genre of isekai is a vast and varied one. In its simplest form, isekai is about taking a character or characters from one world - usually our own - to a completely new one. This latter world tends to be fantastical in nature, but doesn't always have to be. In fact, sometimes the fantastical is sent to our world instead.
Another way some anime subverts isekai tradition is through its protagonist. Usually, the main hero in these shows is a human when they're transported over, and remain as such throughout the series. Think KonoSuba or Re:Zero. They may be granted magical powers, but they're still just humans in the end. Other anime turn that tradition on its head by casting the protagonist as something as different as the world they find themselves in, creating a brand-new viewing experience for anime fans.

Slayer are reigning once again, as the thrash legends played their first concert in five years on Sunday night (September 22nd) at Riot Fest in Chicago.
The headlining performance at Douglass Park featured a career-spanning, 20-song set that didn’t stray too far from Slayer’s setlists on their farewell tour in 2019.

After kicking off with the ominous “South of Heaven,” the band immediately delved into Reign in Blood with a rendition of deep cut “Reborn” — the first performance of the song since 2014. A final four-song volley ended the set climatically: “Mandatory Suicide” into “Raining Blood,” “Black Magic,” and a finale of “Angel of Death.”

They say you should never go back. Yet sometimes the past is too good to stay forgotten. Such is the case with Shadow of the Ninja, a legend of 8-bit gaming that captured hearts in the 1990s with its fluid Ninja action and local co-op. Over thirty years later, passionate studio Tengo Project has breathed new life into this stealthy classic.
The original Nes title put players in the Shinobi shoes of Hayate and Kaede, tasked with infiltrating a dystopian future to defeat the villainous Emperor Garuda. Its smooth side-scrolling and ability for two ninjas to seamlessly team up made it a standout in a crowded genre. But publisher troubles kept the story from continuing.

Season 3 of The Wheel of Time may combine key elements from multiple books to create a cohesive narrative structure. The show's adaptation of The Dragon Reborn's ending is crucial for advancing the overall story and character development. Combining books 3 and 4 could streamline the plot and allow for a more seamless transition between key storylines.
Rather than cover just the fourth installment, The Wheel of Time's next season could conceivably cover the biggest parts of three books in the series. So far, each of the show's two seasons has served as an adaptation of a specific book in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Seasons 1 and 2 told the stories of the first two books, The Eye of the World and The Great Hunt. Based on what's been confirmed about the upcoming chapter of the saga, season 3 is breaking the formula by going out of order and jumping to book 4, The Shadow Rising.

Rakim is regarded by generations of rap fans as The God Mc. But we may need to start referring to him as The God Mc / Producer. Sitting in his studio on a sunny July afternoon, he tells Rolling Stone that he produced “a lot” of the seminal Eric B and Rakim albums, which were in part created from a stash of loops that he would keep in tow to rap along to at park jams.

Logain Ablar's expanded role in The Wheel of Time series sets up an exciting team-up with Siuan Sanche in Season 3. Siuan's downfall and alliance with Logain in The Shadow Rising promises drama and tension in the series' storyline. Their conflicting history and shared hardships make Logain and Siuan's pairing a potential catalyst for an Aes Sedai rebellion.
Based on the trajectory of The Wheel of Time's story, two characters are on track for a team-up, and it's one I can't wait to see. Heroes: Eclipsed must bring back original fan-favorite characters for a successful reboot. Have a clear end goal, like the original show, to keep the focus and direction clear. Avoid too many plot twists and character personality shifts to maintain a cohesive storyline.
Heroes is getting a new reboot series almost 20 years after the original began, but to avoid the earlier shows' fate, there are some things that need to be corrected. It's no wonder isekai remains one of anime’s most popular storytelling styles, with flexible themes that span seamlessly across genres such as shonen, horror, history, romance, and more. Despite reliably displacing protagonists and audiences alike from the normal world and into one filled with magic, mythical creatures, and epic quests, isekai motifs are often deployed as supernatural backdrops for telling relatable coming-of-age tales. Isekai protagonists typically use their fantasy settings as an excuse to start anew and begin self-realizing their true power and potential.
No hero can rise to prominence without an almighty villain, though. That means for every isekai with an overpowered protagonist or adventuring party ensemble, at least one Op villain of similar fortitude is there to rise to their challenge. Netflix isekai anime offer a fresh twist on traditional genre tropes, with unique world-building and character dynamics. Series like Overlord and High-Rise Invasion provide exciting adventures, while Uncle From Another World adds comedic charm. 3.Explore classic isekai like InuYasha, or heartwarming tales like A Lull in the Sea to experience the genre's diversity.
With the high turn-over rates for the many shows on Netflix, especially anime, it’s about time to reconsider the best of the isekai genre that the platform has to offer. Many popular shows have left the Netflix catalogue, such as Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun, The Devil is a Part-timer, and No Game No Life. What is left behind are hidden gems and unexpected entries that stretch, or even overturn the definition of an isekai.
The word isekai in Japanese directly translates to "another world", conjuring images of fantasy, new landscapes, and endless possibilities for redemption.

Isekai, literally translating to “another world,” is a subgenre of fantasy prevalent in anime, light novels, and manga. This subgenre of anime focuses on a protagonist, typically an ordinary person, being transported to a different dimension, be it a supernatural setting, a video game, or a parallel universe. Isekai is considered a relatively modern trend in anime, popularized in the 2000s by such light novel series as The Familiar of Zero and Sword Art Online, and brought to mainstream levels of popularity in the 2010s by Mushoku Tensei, Re:Zero, and the 2012 Sao anime adaptation. Nowadays, isekai dominates the modern anime landscape, and the genre has long since moved on from simply meaning “another world” fiction.
The isekai of today has its own established tropes, rules, and characteristics, going as far as to develop distinctive subgenres within itself, like reincarnation isekai or overpowered protagonist isekai. However, as a plot device, isekai...

Heroes: Eclipsed brings back original creator Tim Kring for a new story set several years later. Despite the oversaturation of superhero content, Heroes: Eclipsed could offer a fresh take on the genre by returning to its groundbreaking roots. To succeed, Heroes: Eclipsed must address past issues, rediscover its magic, and innovate to keep up with modern superhero storytelling.
Heroes' latest reboot attempt may come at the worst possible time, but in a strange way, that only makes Heroes: Eclipsed even more tantalizing. Heroes premiered with a bang in 2006, and for a brief time, Tim Kring's superhero universe was among the biggest things on TV. Heroes creator Tim Kring is rebooting the sci-fi drama series into a new show titled Heroes: Eclipse
Save the cheerleader. Save the world. Heroes creator Tim Kring made the mission sound so easy in 2006, but as we all know, things are more complex when people with supernatural abilities start running amok. Thankfully, we’re getting another chance at winning the day because Tim Kring is rebooting Heroes for a second encore with Heroes: Eclipse.
According to Deadline‘s exclusive report, “Heroes: Eclipsed is set years after the events of the original series as new evos are being awakened and discovering powers that will change their lives. Featuring familiar villains and new enemies who once again will be attempting to suppress this next step in human evolution, it will be up to this new group of heroes to save the world.”

A new “Heroes” reboot series is in development from creator Tim Kring, Variety has confirmed.
The reboot, titled “Heroes: Eclipsed,” is set years after the events of the original superhero series, as new evolved humans are discovering their powers. Kring is executive producing “Heroes: Eclipsed” with his manager, Mosaic’s Jordan Cerf. Casting has yet to be announced.
“Heroes” ran for four seasons on NBC from 2006 to 2010, and starred Hayden Panettiere, Jack Coleman, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar and Greg Grunberg. Kring then worked on the 2015 limited series “Heroes Reborn,” with Coleman reprising his role as Noah Bennet. The show is taking liberties with some characters, but Liandrin's story seems set for a completely new ending. Liandrin's story in the books was unresolved, but the TV show is clearly expanding her role and potential fate. The show is already deviating from the books with Liandrin potentially avoiding her book fate and facing new choices and redemption.
One character in The Wheel of Time is already in position to receive an ending that differs from the source material. Over the course of its first two seasons, Amazon Prime Video's TV show has made a number of changes to Robert Jordan's 14-book Wheel of Time series. However, the majority of the liberties taken with the books aren't likely to impact the long-term trajectories of the Wheel of Time characters' arcs.
For that reason, many of the changes to the books have been deemed superficial in terms of the bigger picture.

The Wheel of Time season 3 will introduce more powerful channelers, including Sammael, Amys, Rahvin, Graendal, Therava, Elaida, Bodewhin, and Asmodean. Sammael despises the Dragon Reborn, which could mean trouble for Rand and his friends if he appears in season 3. Asmodean plays a central role in the fourth book, making it possible that he will be included in season 3, despite cuts to the Forsaken.

The Jeepers Creepers franchise consists of four movies, each available to rent or stream online, featuring a unique monster that preys on humans every 23 years. The sequels and reboot of Jeepers Creepers have had mixed success but can still be viewed on various streaming and video-on-demand platforms. Watching all the Jeepers Creepers movies requires multiple viewing platforms, as no single streaming service offers more than one installment, but there are options to rent or buy digitally or purchase physical copies.
Following the release of the last installment in 2022, there are four movies in the Jeepers Creepers franchise, and each is available to rent or stream online. The Jeepers Creepers movies involve a monster called the Creeper, which stalks citizens of rural Florida every 23 years. The franchise has become a staple of the new-wave horror genre thanks to its creative storytelling and the uniqueness of the first film in the series.
