Average movie not up to the expectation

Let me talk about the good things first. The story is told from dhuryodana's perspective. Darshan has done justice to the character. He once again proved that he can pull off negative shade role. As the movie shows different events of Mahabharata in 3hrs time, movie never feels long. Coming to the downside.. Graphics is decent but not comparable to bhahubhali, which Itself is not an amazing vfx film. Film has unnecessary songs to impress mass audience. Duet between Meghna and Darshan, haripriya's Item number, and nikhil's Song is ware of time. Also there is a scene in which ambharish and Nikhil have a conversation, which is used to indirectly praise Kumaraswamy and Devegowda. Which took close to 20 min of the film. Casting was not good. Bhima was not convincing at all. He looked funny while he was showing his anger and aggression. They should have casted theatre artist instead of mainstream actors. I felt if they had made this movie into 2 or 3 parts it could have been better.

Could have been better

VFX is average, Krishna cast is worse, Again darshan saved this movie. Very boring. Maybe Muniratana did this for political promotion.

Depressing, Disgusting, Painful, Shameful and Unforgivable

How illiterate should you be to give this film 10/10 and call it super? what kind of slave should you be of the celebrities that you can't see how they have brought down our epics to the lowest grade possible. Must be a lot of illiterates from Mandya (I have had first hand knowledge on them).

Let me begin humiliating this waste by talking about the beginning credits. The beginning credits go away so soon that I could barely read the boasting of every actor's names and their titles as if they have won wars and helped millions of people around the world. I could barely know who is acting as who. Either respect the cast and crew by showing their names for a minimum of 4 seconds (or whatever a learned editor would say is the right time) or don't show the names of the cast and crew at all. Does the idiot MLA muniratna understand what does 'A film by' means? It's not the producer's name or the financier's name that has to be put there. Its the director's name you idiot thief. And what the F...do you mean story is by you? Have you heard of Vyasa? Dumb illiterates become politicians. Take money from the government which is tax payers money and then don't use it for the welfare of the people but make horrible movies from it. This muniratna will receive all the curses that come with this garbage.

Now for the story & screenplay. Such a wrongful depiction of the Mahabharata. Shame, shame, shame. The story of Shakuni is twisted and the age shown of all the characters is wrong. Duryodhana's involvement in Palace of Lac, the Virata yuddha is never shown even though this is Duryodhana's POV. An important scene of Karna's funeral is also not shown. The writing is so manipulated that muniratna doesn't even know the Mahabharata. Forget reading the epic, that idiot could have just watched B.R. Chopra's Mahabharata and would have known better. A lot of things are so messed up in writing that I am pissed as a writer and as a Hindu.

Casting and acting. Darshan's language is so non-kingly Kannada. It's so mandya Kannada sometimes. These people can't pronounce the words properly. For eg., instead of 'horage' they say 'orage' or instead of 'ashtakke' they say 'astakke' or saying two variations of the same word in a single sentence like 'prathishtapane' and 'pratistapane'. And we call them celebrities. Shame. This mispronouncing is OK in their disgusting dumb films but this is a movie on Mahabharata. The worst part is by Ambareesh (that's what I thought. Wait for the worst to come). He looks so bad with cotton stuffed on his face. The only reason Ambareesh is in the film was to bring his fans into the theaters. Nothing else. Ambareesh looks like his head has been fixed on someone else's body. This guy plays Bheeshma. Are you kidding me? And here comes the worst actor for the played role. Ravichandran as Krishna. Is Ravichandran pregnant? He is depressing with his bulging belly popping out that brings shame to the character of Lord Krishna. Did he play holi and came to the set? Disgustingly blue. That blue is not Krishna. That's muniratna's film collection. Nikhil Kumaraswamy (or whatever his name is) is so laughable. This horrible looking guy can't even act. I couldn't make myself laugh or cry looking at him, let alone his acting. Thank god I haven't watched any of his films nor will I ever. And that girl who plays Subhadra. What a pain. That guy who played Bheema is unberable. He can't even stand properly, let alone act. Sonu Sood is so bad as Arjuna. OMG! Am not even gonna comment on the Kannada dub. There isn't any actor who is fit for the character except probably Darshan as Duryodhana (in looks), Arjun Sarja as Karna and Sreenivas Murthy as Dronacharya.

The Cartooning. Yes, the cartooning. Using the word VFX would be a shame to the word VFX. Shame. This is as bad as the VFX used in bahubali movie. When a cat walks on the keys of a computer keyboard that too by mistake we get the VFX of this film.

The music. What in this shameful world is the song jhumma jhumma juhm' with Haripriya (or whatever hr name is)? I would use the most foul words and curses if it weren't for IMDB's so called rules.

The film. The longest episode of a depressingly made, shamefully executed, greedy producers involved, disgusting TV serial. Thank god I downloaded this film and I could thus fast forward a lot of unwanted scenes. Thank god am not in Bengaluru. I know people from Rajarajeshwari Nagara. They'll never vote for this muniratna. Mind you. The real Mahabharata brought Adharma down. This Mahabharata will bring muniratna down.

Pathetic Execution of an EPIC "MAHABHARATA"!

At first, Graphics are pathetic. 3D projection is so blurred and feels awkward to watch also. Direction is outdated. There was tremendous scope to make it as epic as possible. Since, "MAHABHARATA" is an epic. The whole piece of Art has gone for toss. Unnecessary Song sequences doesn't fit into the narration. Dialogue writer has not done a good job. Each and every department had so much scope to give their best. Everything was just half backed. 2* only for DARSHAN's Performance. Otherwise, This movie is a Big let down.

Good .... But, Not Excellent

KURUKSHETRA The First Kannada Mythological 3D Film Ever. The Action, Screen Play, Direction, Dialogues, Choreography, Cinematography And Specially MUSIC IS AMAZING. The First Half Of The Film Is Perfect Like, VFX, Graphics,Acting, Romance, Drama, Dialogue And Soon. After Second Half Of The Film Is Advanced Tech It Is The Biggest Strength Of The Film. Last War And Climax Scene Is OUTSTANDING. But, Graphics On Climax I Saw Some Dall Performance.. All Actors Acting Is Outstanding, But Some Time You Feel Compromise In Acting. But FILM IS GOOD, NOT EXCELLENT. 8 OUT OF 10.

Telling a story as it is with no aplomb makes this a dull watch

Nothing new in the way of story telling, few important casting mistakes, dull songs and music, ineffective battle scenes makes this movie an absolute dumb watch.

Only saving grace is the incredible performance by Darshan and Arjun Sarja.

An impressive mythological film strictly to be enjoyed only in 2D!

This film claims to be the world's first mythological movie in 3D marvel and is also touted as the costliest movie to be made in Sandalwood. The film deserves a watch for the effort, however not in 3D but 2D. The 3D effects have not come out well. There is considerable amount of blur in the panning and zoom out sequences, where the background and the colour reproduction doesn't work out. The 2D version won't have this problem.

The film is based on the epic poem Gadhayuddha by Ranna, centred on the Indian epic - Mahabharata. The first half of the film mainly focuses on Duryodhana and this antics. While the second half narrates the battle of Kurukshetra. The screenplay of the film could be more pacier by chopping out some unnecessary song sequences.

D Boss - Darshan Thoogudeepa as Duryodhana has excelled in his role with his charming looks and his dialogue delivery. Arjun Sarja as Karna gives one of his best performances. Nikhil Kumaraswamy as Abhimanyu evokes a lot of laughs due to his political connections but he manages well to show off his impressive battle skills. Ravishankar as Shakuni stands out with his wily acting and dialogues. All other members of the cast have performed decently.

It is a good attempt by the entire team and a lot of work has gone into making of this film. Also setting up the film sets for a historic film like this which showcases the war and battle sequences needs quite a lot of skill and time.

The mace fight battle sequence is gripping and the the visual effects are quite a treat to watch. The VFX in the remaining war sequences have also come out well, though not on par with the ones we have seen in recent times. The editing and direction is a disappointment. The music is decent with a few melodious tracks. The cinematography could have been better.

Overall this film deserves a watch for it's impressive casting and making and you will enjoy it if you have a flair for mythology or if you are a die-hard D Boss fan!

3D disaster

The movie is packed with Poor storyline, logic-less scenes, poor costumes, unconvincing dialogues and screenplay etc. The movie is just been watched because of the talented starcast (Nikhil Exception). The worst part is visual effects, seems like a pirated & cheap Chinese technology. Finally the most important thing required in a movie is ENTERTAINMENT which is absolutely missing!

Not Upto the Mark, Cinematography is too bad

Muniratna is neither fit for politics nor fit for Film Industry, This guy's Previous attempt was also awful. This movie is watchable due to acting of Darshan, Ravichandran, Ambarish and Sneha. Cinematography is extremely worst, If it was produced by any other person I would definitely recommend this movie.

This is what we call a movie!!!

D'boss once again is back with a bang that too with a mythological movie kurukshetra.. It's a beautifully made 3D movie in which all actors are equally brilliant but boss as duryodhana steals the show.. This movie is going to achieve something big because of its beautiful making and the actors performances are treat to watch... After so many years seeing a historical movie made in such a way is definitely a great thing.. Must watch movie for everyone..

Please avoid

The movie looked promising with its star cast. Barring a few performances, it was disappointing. The CGI looked awful in 3D and the lighting poor. Mediocre dialogues and shoddy acting. Only people who did shine are Darshan and Arjun both in terms of acting and dialogue delivery. Overall, it's best to avoid.
