I love basement movies & this rocks!

I'm a big fan of abduction movies, especially basement movies. This film is a really good psychological thriller. A bit unrealistic to think someone could have a phone and keep it in this situation, much less talk it so much and not be heard, or that the battery would stay charged for that long. However, poetic license can be granted by me, because I watch to be entertained, and I really enjoyed this movie. I'm not going to ruin it for others with spoilers, I'll just say that it keeps you guessing. Many will catch on and figure it out early on or partway through, but it didn't take away my enjoyment of the film. A decent bunch of young actors, especially the lead! The protagonist's role was seriously challenging and complex. The screenplay was really good, maybe it could've been made more plausible with quieter phone conversations and a bit more fear displayed, but again, very interesting right through the end. If you are willing to give a film like this a chance (just because it isn't widely marketed and not A-listers) I definitely recommend this intriguing hidden gem. I'll be thinking about this thought-provoking film for awhile. Bravo to the cast and crew! I've seen a great many low-budget films with poor production and bad actors, but this to me, isn't one. I hope it can find a larger audience because it deserves to be seen. I'd like to see more like this.

Better than I thought it'd be

Definitely not no 8/10 movie like the top review lol but I was actually presently surprised at how decent the movie was for how unknown and low budget it is. The whole movie pretty much takes place in one room and most of the screen time is taken up by the actress playing a kidnapped girl who does a really good job honestly. The rest of the actors I don't think do as good a job as she does. Anyway, I figured this would be a movie I'd turn off in 5 minutes after starting but I watched it through and enjoyed it.

Interesting Movie but That Ending...

I like movies that make you think. I like weird movies. This one ticks both boxes. I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but some of the story you can probably figure out early on, but there are a couple of questions left unanswered at the end... at least for me anyway.

I don't usually enjoy movies with one room and one character throughout the whole movie - they get boring quick - but this one was able to keep me entertained right up until the end. Yeah, there is more than one room and more than one character, but those only take up about 10% of the whole flick, if that much. Most of the movie is told in one setting with the main actress talking to or hearing the others through the ventilation or through the door. For quite some time, I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to even get to see the other actors.

There are some flaws in the movie - mostly related to the cellphone - that are unbelievable, but it's a movie - not a documentary. It's supposed to entertain.

The lead actress does a good job in both roles, switching between one and the other seamlessly. The other actors... meh. They were ok.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone knows how to light a scene. Instead of the nightlights that most movies use for "full room" lighting, the lights in the rooms actually lit the rooms and the actors properly. There were a few scenes outside that could have been better lit, but... it's a low budget flick. Even at that, still better than most garbage out of hollywood these days. Plus, no agenda! No politics! No propaganda! Just good, fun entertainment!

Loved the idea

Great idea... very clever. Props to everyone putting it together, especially during a pandemic; however, I don't think the production value and inexperience of many of the cast and crew allowed them to fully develop how good this could have been. With a larger budget for sound and editing as well as a more seasoned supporting cast and a few script revisions this could have been a really great indie sleeper. Still worth a watch.

Impressive

This is low budget through and through, but an incredible performance from the lead actress, along with a tight and compelling script make this well worth viewing. Don't read any spoilers; if you're here, just watch. If you have a soft spot for something different, this film has more than enough heart to hold your interest. Fascinating and compelling. Recommended.
