Not sure I got this the right way but what I understood from this movie is that you must never be embarrassed by your weakness because the others might see it as something amazing. As an analogy, how many women spend hours and hours in self-criticism every day while those around them think they are fantastic?
Really, this movie made me feel great. And if I missed the point, it still made me feel great...:-)
I was born in a small town, I love bikes and this movie made me laugh out loud! the photography is excellent to. Special effects are really bad.
A film gathering Benoît Poelvoorde, Edouard Baer, Suzanne Clément, and inspired from a comic strip of the genial Sempé, it's clearly an offer you can't refuse! Nevertheless, processing a comic into a movie is usually a perilous exercise, due to the probable distorsion of the global atmosphere, with a wide spectrum of divergent opinions on this particular subject. In my humble opinion, the result is rather successful thanks to the magic complicity of the duet Poelvoorde / Baer. I was particularly sensitive to these themes: simplicity, friendship, humility, benevolence and love. As a synthesis, although this movie is not a masterpiece, this a nice entertainment to enjoy with your family during Easter holidays.
Woah ! I rarely saw a so boring film.
The pace is slow, so slow. The jokes are flat. The story isn't even interesting.
I never read the comics, but I think they took the best parts of it, and tried to link them together as a movie.
This one has the same problem like Boule & Bill and Gaston Lagaffe movies : the guys didn't know how to do a good script from these cartoons. And the results are plain dumb.
If you want to waste 90 minutes of your life, go with it. Otherwise, avoid it, you will be disappointed as I got myself.

As a Belgian i'm very proud to have seen Benoit Poelvoorde grow into the great actor he is, this is however not his best work.
He came into the limelight with the dark comedy "Cest arrive pres de chez vous" (Man bites dog). A camera crew follows the daily life of a psychopathic killer and thief in some kind of telereality show about him. The movie got a lot of critique at the time due to the violence it depicted but personally i find it hilarious and it is still one of my all time favourites.
After that he continued to make a name of himself as a comic actor in "Les carnets de Mr Manatane" a funny tv series with sketches, "Les convoyeurs attendent", "Les portent de la gloire", "Le velo de Ghislain Lambert", "Aaltra". But along the way he kind of wanted to break with his comic persona by succesfully depict more dramatic or even fragile/emational roles which he did in "Les émotifs anonymes" but more succesfully in "Une place sur la terre"
So yeah ofc i made it a tradition to watch his movies when i can.
This movie however is a feelgood movie for all ages but i would say more for kids then for adults as the humor is a bit too simplistic. It is something you can watch with the whole family during the holidays. It is not bad but not memorable.
