I'll give my best fair review of this movie. I'm a Christian and we went with our church small group together to watch it. The movie was not what i expected. It's a one hour documentary which is fine, but I don't think we learned anything new from this. I mean, we all know that kids and teens are addicted to their phones. We know cyber bullying happens on social media, and we know that porn is easy to access online from any device. So I guess this movie just reiterated to us what we already know but this time through Kirk Cameron's amicable voice and inquisitive eyes. I didn't rate it lower because in the days right after watching this I was able to use this movie as a conversation starter to some of those around me as easy way to let them know I'm a Christian.
Also there was a lot of propaganda.
Also there was a lot of propaganda.
This is filled with selective thinking and religious undertones, couldn't be more irrelevant to technology and social media this day and age.

It could be Saving Christmas. I guess Cameron is making money with these because they keep making them.

As parents we hear the pitfalls of social media on a regular basis but does it make us stop & really think about it? Hearing in depth information from real people who could be your friend, your co-worker or your neighbor that you spend Saturday afternoons with makes it hit home. We may have heard some of the same messages before but this is a definite must watch for parents and it's one you can watch with the kids. As a Christian parent, I haven't hesitated to share our thoughts on this one with any of our friends or family - Christian or not! The message is an important one that is brought to light without being "preachy" as some might think after seeing Kirk Cameron's involvement.

Since this film came out, so much data has revealed how screen time and social media influence lead to depression and suicidality, particularly in young people. This documentary was the first I've ever watched on this very relevant topic. I'm so glad I watched it! I'm grateful as a parent that I can see how device use, specifically constant screen time and social media can re-wire the brain and lead me away from the present, aware and socially-connected family member I'd rather be. I plan to share this review with my other family members and I wish more people knew about this really important topic!
