Why Jim Carrey Backed Out Of A Poorly Received Episode Of The Simpsons
Image
Most folks agree that "The Simpsons" hasn't been very good for a long time. In recent years, you may have heard that "The Simpsons" is good again or that modern seasons have actually delivered some underrated "Simpsons" episodes. But the reality is that this is a show which has been running for a full 36 seasons at this point, and whatever spin you try to put on it, something went fundamentally awry long ago.

Just when this happened remains a point of debate among fans. Others, this writer included, maintain that the series was good right up until the 12th season, but if this handy chart showing IMDb rankings for each season of "The Simpsons" is anything to go by,...

‘Crimes of the Future’ Producer Robert Lantos on How Epic Drama Series ‘Rise of the Raven’ Will Raise the Bar for Hungary (Exclusive)
Image
Principal photography is underway near Budapest on “Rise of the Raven,” an epic drama series produced by veteran Canadian producer Robert Lantos’ Serendipity Point Films (“Crimes of the Future”) and Beta Film (“Gomorrah”) that marks the most lavish TV production in Hungary’s history.

Adapted from author Bán Mór’s bestselling novels, the 10-episode series tells the story of the Hungarian warrior Janos Hunyadi, who defeated the Ottoman army in 1456 at the Battle of Belgrade, halting its march across Europe.

Lantos, whose producing credits include “The Sweet Hereafter,” “Johnny Mnemonic” and “Eastern Promises,” spoke exclusively with Variety about a passion project more than a decade in the making. He was joined by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director Robert Dornhelm and Hungarian directors Attila Szász and Orsi Nagypal, who joined the conversation fresh off shooting an epic battle sequence outside Budapest.

The Hungarian-born Lantos, who was in Cannes this year with David Cronenberg...

Supernatural: 10 Ways Gabriel Got Worse And Worse
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki in Supernatural (2005)
Gabriel is the youngest archangel brother in the show Supernatural but for a long time, he is not known as an archangel. He comes to the scene halfway through Season 2 as The Trickster in the episode, “Tall Tales.” He appears to be a goofy demigod that they kill. In the Season 3 episode entitled “The Mystery Spot” Dean dies over and over as Sam relives the day every time he meets his demise.

The Trickster, who isn’t dead, tells him that it’s time he learned to live without Dean and figure things out on his own because Hell was going to get Dean and there’s nothing Sam can do about it. Sam lives in an alternate reality for months without Dean before finding Gabriel (who he still knows as The Trickster) and getting him to turn back time again.
