An extremely popular slime isekai series thrives in Japan but has not made as big a splash with international audiences. While That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has landed at #1 for manga sales in its home country, it has been bested worldwide by other sports, mystery and isekai franchises.

PR Times recently revealed the top-selling books in 2024 based on sales data provided by digital retailer BookWalker (formed by parent company Kadokawa). As of Aug. 6, 2024, the top 10 series listed below are the top-selling books on the popular e-book service. Although That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime dominated the Japanese sales chart, it failed to rank at all in the top 10 for international readers.
