Cognition had the rare privilege of a three and a half week cinema release in the UK starting on the 16th of October 2020, at the Archlight Cinema (since renamed to The Cinema in the Arches) in Battersea, London, Greater London, England. The film enjoyed an excellent reception and a string of sell out screenings. DCP was prepped by Technicolor and a Dolby Atmos mix across 45 speakers was done by Twickenham Film Studios, with the final recording/mix done at Abbey Road Studios.

A Short Film with Feature Film Studio Ambitions

The short film is very impressive and has emulated the production value of studio-produced, full-length features due to its spectacular visual effects and set designs. The fact that this is an independently produced sci-fi short film, is a real testament to the astonishing talents of the production team. However, COGNITION is not just another shallow exhibition of sleek visual effects. At its heart is a resonant story about the critical role our familial bonds play in shaping who we are and the destinies we choose to pursue.
