The Voices of an Enigmatic Generation

The journey of this film through music, acting and intellect shows us what it means to grow up and gain confidence in ones identity and choices. An unlikely coming of age story of a Toronto transplant in the hipster neighborhood of Montreal's Plateau trying to forgive and forget while learning to give herself the love and joy she deserves. Experience the freezing cold city, the laughs and an outstanding soundtrack thanks to a team of hard working indie filmmakers and audiences like you!

Specific yet also universal

Along with the charismatic onscreen presence of Shaffeeullah, Lalla, and Dionne, I thoroughly enjoyed the meandering, "young woman in the city trying to figure out her next move" vibe of this film. The tone and dialogue reminded me of the work of Linklater, Gerwig, and (especially) Claudia Weill's "Girlfriends". As a Montrealer, I thought the director really managed to capture the spirit of that particular neighbourhood and its inhabitants. Highly recommended if you want to spend time with realistic characters who are struggling to find their way in the literally (Montreal winter!) and often figuratively harsh creative world while trying to pay their bills, take care of themselves, and those they love.
