Jim Gaffigan: Noble Ape

A laugh a minute

Jim is on top form. He proves once again that clean comedy can be just as funny. One of the few comedians that doesn't need profanity & shock value to make up for a lack of talent. A rare treat nowadays.

post brain surgery

Jim Gaffigan is overweight with a beard and doing a show in Boston. His wife had recently had brain surgery. It's the launching off point for this one hour journey through his life ending with him opening for the Pope in Philly. There is less food talk than normal other than his weight and a colonoscopy. It's a very good show. He's been talking about a lot of these incidents like his kids in China and the Pope. It's easy comedy for the whole family.

Surprisingly funny and very well put together

I was a fan of Gaffigan's early stand up but lately wasn't too amused.. Don't like the tv show very much... But this one felt very very different. Jim was rather confident and the way everything was tied together almost amazed me. Great jokes, I laughed many times, loved the impressions... Well done!

Always Good & Funny

Jim Gaffigan leads off with some jokes about his wife's brain surgery, and it just gets better from there. He goes from topic to topic very smoothly, and makes each part of his comedy show funny and thoughtful.

No politics, nothing nasty, it is always relaxing fun and humor. I really appreciate watching his shows, and I occasionally re-watch a Jim Gaffigan show after a stressful day. It is great for letting go of stress!

Jim always delivers.

The first show I watched from Jim Gaffigan was Mr.Universe (2012) and he got my immediate attention. He clearly has a good and unique way to bring his stand-up comedy. So Noble Aple was the second stand-up comedy from him for me and I thought it was even better. He's still pretty static on scene but that's his style. He brings his jokes with his different voices, almost like he's talking to himself all the time, and that clearly works, at least to me. He's a good storyteller, one that has your attention from the first till the last second and his jokes are just well thought out. The only way you could not laugh with his shows is if you have no sense of humor at all.

Return to form

Jim is my favorite standup comedian by far, but I felt his last outing "Cinco" was not up to his usual standards. Noble Ape delivers on all accounts. Jim's take on brain surgeons, his wife's cancer, the Pope and many other topics had me falling off the couch laughing.

Non-stop funny--and clean!

Some of the funniest jokes in this show is the medical one's. Jim Gaffigan could do very well going to medical conventions and telling his jokes about medicine to health care workers.
