Following seven weeks of work on the island of Reunion, Hugo Benamozig and David Caviglioli have wrapped filming on their first full-length film: Terrible Jungle. Leading the cast of this adventure comedy are Vincent Dedienne (the well-known humourist who hit French cinemas at the beginning of the year in Our Happy Holiday and whom we’ll soon be seeing in L’Étreinte) and global icon Catherine Deneuve (nominated Best Actress at the Oscars in 1993 and winner of a Special Award in Cannes 2008, a Silver Bear in Berlin in 2002 and a Volpi Cup in Venice in 1998; she was well received in Berlin this year in Farewell to the Night, she’s due to tour French cinemas from 4 September in Cédric Kahn’s Happy Birthday.
The day before the fourth of July, Herediatary writer-director Ari Aster's new brightly-lit nightmare Midsommar will be unleashed into a theater near you. And from what we've been hearing about the movie lately, it's going to be one wicked ride. Hell, even the movie's lead star Florence Pugh was shaken up by the flick. The Black Widow and The Little Drummer Girl actress took to Twitter to let us all know that she had finally had the chance to sit down and watch the movie, and it gave her a slight bit of trauma.
Specifically, Florence Pugh tweeted this.
"So.. I saw it. I'm currently sat. Staring. Wide-eyed at my food. Midsommar is one helluva ride folks."
So just to keep all of this straight; evidently, Ari Aster's new movie is so damn disturbing and scary that even the people who were there while it was filmed are still...
