Mike Epps and Katt Williams in The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 (2021)
Carl Black (Mike Epps) is about to face off with the neighbor from hell (Katt Williams) in The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2. Carl has only ever wanted the best for his family, but after surviving the events that led to his (not-so-) bestselling book, he’s moving everyone to his childhood home, where’s he’ll contend not only with his wife Lorene (Zulay Henao) and kids Allie (Bresha Webb) and Carl Jr. (Alex Henderson) but everyone who drives him crazy: Cronut (Lil Duval), Freezee (Andrew Bachelor), Rico (Tyrin Turner), and an entire neighborhood of characters who seem to attract strange activity after dark. And nothing could be more freaky than their new neighbor Dr. Mamuwalde (Williams), who may or may not be a vampire. From co-writer/director Deon Taylor (Fatale, Black and Blue), as the Meet the Blacks universe expands, it will be up to Carl to figure out what his neighbor is up to in the middle of the night before it’s too late for him and his family.

Trashy, dull, and Danny Trejo criminally underused

Honestly watched this just for Trejo. At first the rest of the cast was charming but their obvious improv went on for far too long and just became tedious to watch. Skipped through most of it but from what I saw it seems like this was a "retelling" or mash-up of Fright Night and Underworld 3. Yawn.

    Stupid but funny

Sort of funny. Storyline not all that great. The movie could do without the wife. Don't understand the point of her role. This is the kind of movie to watch at home. Not worth all the money to pay to sit in a theater and watch it. I would definitely not let my small children watch this. If you seen part 1, common sense would tell you that this is definitely not a movie suitable for kids.

    Hilarious!

I'm a big fan of Katt Williams. Many of the one liners were real stereotype zingers. The humor flips both shades. It's a silly comedy with good fun so I dont get the bad reviews. I'll take this anytime over Madea, so there. Good to see Katt again.

    Exceeded my expectations!

I recently watched part one to this 'Meet The Blacks', so I knew exactly what to expect going into this. But in all honesty, they've improved (albeit only a little), on the original.

You still have the awful acting, jokes...and cringe moments from SOME of the cast. But because the movie looks so good, it sort of gets away with it. Imagine watching 'Birdemic', or 'The Room', with a much, much, much bigger budget.

As I said before, the movie looks and sounds great, with some impressive CGI, especially the vampire slayings and Katt Williams' floating.

Not much of an original story, or any type of story at all...it was all very 'seen it before'. A few cameos here and there kept things fresh.

As with the first instalment, Mike Epps' one-liners are the highlight. Also the chemistry between him and Cronut is great. Michael Blackson, Katt Williams and King Bach were just being Michael Blackson, Katt Williams and King Bach! Nothing different from anything else you've seen them in, (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

The wife was just as attractive as I remember her being in part one...and they even threw in a new sexy female neighbour too...so there was plenty of eye candy on show, (if that's your thing).

I only wish Snoop was in it more. There's a post mid-credits scene that hints at a third instalment, in which they all go 'ghostbusting'...which I can only imagine is a carbon copy of parts 1 and 2, only with a 'Ghostbusters' type storyline.

Overall - definitely won't be winning any awards, but you could do a lot worse than spend a few hours watching this. Watch the trailer first, if you like that, then you'll probably enjoy the movie.

    Bet the outtakes are hilarious

I went in expecting a spoof but what I got was a bad comedy horror. The editing is probably the biggest issues. The feels like a cross between Fright Night and Vampire in Brooklyn and was probably a good ideal on paper. The only laughs for me really only came from the actors cracking jokes on each other.

The red skull mask, which is a distinctive feature worn by The Stranger in "Meet the Blacks," also makes an appearance in "The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2." It is showcased among a collection of weapons and tools by the dealer prior to the party scene. This continuity detail connects the two films and adds a layer of depth to the movie's universe.
    • Goofs
When Carl notices Freezee's car parked behind the neighbor's house, it cuts to Hugo who is also looking at the car from the opposite direction. The car is shown again from Hugo's perspective, but the license plate is backwards.
